Lunch Bunch was at R&R
Bar-B-Que
at Traverse Mountain
Sharon, SuzAnne, Shauna
Faye, Jeanie, Kathie, Eileen
We had 7. Clockwise lower left:
Faye, Jennie, Kathie, Eileen,
Sharon, Susan, Shauna.
Shauna wrote a cute poem about
the two white-haired flirty guys
who were sitting at a table next
to us, one of whom took these
group photos.
If we had just taken a photo from
the other direction we would
have gotten a photo of the two
friendly guys sitting in the table
next to where Faye and Shauna
are.
Here's Shauna's poem about the
incident:
Now, l
could make a story, for a laugh....
2 guys
walked into R&R.
They
spied a table just past the "bar."
There
they sat
Next
to 7 beauties enjoying a chat!
They
couldn't resist all our fun
And
began to talk to everyone!
A chit
here,
A chat
there,
Then
one guy took our picture or two!
We
thanked them, bid them farewell and said adieu!
Adieu!
Adieu! Goodnight
ladies!!
Outside a cute gal took a photo
of us all by the R&R pig.
Nobody was high on the hog.
LeAnn, remember that day there
when you crawled under the table,
you also tried to climb upon the
pig for the group photo, but it
was too high.
We do have great memories of
our fun times together!
Faye has a beautiful
home and yard
on the north side of
Neptune Park.
Prayers for Faye for
her back surgery
on June 7.

"STAGECOACH" FROM 1939
It's the movie that put John Wayne

John Wayne lived to age 72.
Thomas Mitchell, as Dr. Boone,

At the end of our Gospel Doctrine
class today, I asked Julia if she
was teaching the next lesson.
"Yes," she said, "It's on the
Atonement."
I agreed with her in saying the
Atonement is hard to understand.
I liked this quote I just saw from
the Apostle Neal A. Maxwell.
Atonement – Neal A. Maxwell quote
We read how in Gethsemane Jesus began to be "sore
amazed," or, according to the Greek, "astonished"! (Mark 14:33.)
"Astonished," mind you. And this reaction from Him Who, among
Father's spirit children, was and is "more intelligent than they
all." (Abraham 3:19.) The Savior, with His unsurpassed brilliance, began
to be "very heavy," or, again according to the Greek,
"dejected" or "in anguish." (Mark 14:33.) Here we read of
the Creator of this and other worlds, Who knew well beforehand what He must do.
Nevertheless, Jesus had never before known personally the process of atonement.
And it was much worse than even He in His brilliance had ever imagined! Listen
to these verses: "He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and
prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said,
Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me:
nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt." (Mark 14:35, 36.)
Jesus, once Jehovah, actually pled that the awful hour and the bitter cup might
pass from Him. Note his special, significant words: "All things are
possible unto thee; take away this cup from me."
... Even so, after this pleading came the sublime, unparalleled spiritual
submissiveness: "Nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt."
(Mark 14:36.) It is a wondrous and glorious moment of full submission in the
act of the atonement.

Today in Fast & Testimony
there were 9 testimonies shared:
1. David South - Connection with Heavenly Father and believing Christ is best way to get through life.
2. Nelson Spencer - Grateful Heavenly Father allowed His Son to go through the Atonement.
3. Roberta Sherman - I have been called as the YW camp director. I did not want to go to camp. Heavenly Father answered my prayer that this is where I need to be.
4. Ken Mallett - We grow when bad things happen to good people. Heavenly Father's Great Plan would be useless without a Savior.
5. Alissa Allen - After a shift of being an usher at Temple open house, I'm so tired and my feet hurt, but it is so worth it. Each group going through is wonderful. I am grateful for my family and for the Savior.
6. Ted Mardesich - We spoke to a group last week. It was harder preparing than when I had the mantle of a bishop. I studied the Come, Follow Me lesson early this morning about the sacrament. I took the sacrament with more intent today.
7. Bo Miller - I was in Las Vegas for a tournament--had 4 games. I was too sick to play. My dad gave me a blessing, and when he said "amen" I was fine. It was an answer to my prayers. I know the Savior watches over us.
8. Sister Missionary - What matters most is our relationship with the Savior. I know the Church is true.
9. Sister Missionary - The Savior lives and is aware of us. As we focus on Him, He will help us.
David South said these Sister missionaries are new. He thanked them for sharing their testimonies. He said when we invite them into our home to share a message, it will do us good.
