Yes, it's spring...
but summer is a comin'

MONDAY, MAY 28, 2018

This morning Jenn cooked blueberry-raspberry pancakes and chocolate chip muffins for breakfast.  Then she picked up the twins who had been with their Dad the past 5 days at the beach in Alabama with their Doak grandparents.

Brian and Lizzy and Brian went to Wal*Mart to get some things, including some new luggage for us.  They think our 1960 soft-side Samsonite suitcases have fulfilled the measure of their creation.

Then we're helping Olivia load up her things to start summer semester tomorrow at her Lipscomb University in Nashville.

If it doesn't rain as forecast (90% chance for 3pm and after) we may go to the Zoo in Nashville.

We got to Nashville at 5:40, then helped Olivia move into her dorm.

Here's the photos from our Memoial Day in T E N N E S S E E . ..
Brian said to get a photo of the real cook...

...before getting a photo of him grilling the pork tenderloin and the salmon...

Our Memorial Day Dinner...Delicious~!
Thanks, Jenn and Brian.

So refreshing to see young kids using their imagination as they play together...Lizzy, Kayden, and Jordan.

We helped Olivia move into her dorm room at Lipscomb University in Nashville...

From there we drove to the theater to see the Star Wars' prequel "Solo."  Some of us really liked it.  Walt couldn't figure out what was going on.
We sat in Row "B"...so we were about as close to the screen, which was the only row that still had 7 seats in a row available

Han Solo...

Some rate it 4 stars out of 5
another 7.5 out of 10
Brian liked it a lot, I liked it.
I don't know if Jenn is a Star Wars fan,
Walt has never been a Star Wars fan.

Today we had to get 3 new tires for our car.

Walt said these tires should last the life of our car.

This evening we had a fun surprise visit from Shauna Reiter.
I had forgotten that she worked at the old Burley Hospital and now is well enough to return and help at the new Cassia Regional Medical Center.

 SUNDAY, June 3, 2018
This morning we went to Sacrament Meeting. Sunday School, and Priesthood/Relief Society.

We had a fun surprise visit from Walt's cousin Roy's son, Andy Prescott.  It was great to talk with him, Porter, Alexis, and Sophia.

Then is was great to have our friends and neighbors -- Darrell and Mary Ann Roskelley, and Kenneth and Bonnie Fronk come visit for a while.

By the time I took the photo, Darrel had gone to the practice for the July 1st Patriotic Program.  We are excited that Colleen Wood is bringing this patriotic remembrance back to the King Fine Arts Center.

Walt took these great photos.

TUESDAY, MAY 22, 2018

Today Walt had pool physical therapy. My cell phone was not charged so I didn't get any photos.

Then we went to Institute...great lesson on Elder Dallin H. Oaks General Conference talk "Small and Simple Things" bring great things to pass.

We love this adult religion class taught by Nancy Blauer.  She is an outstanding teacher and brings out a lot of class participations and discussion.  We love her and her insights for each lesson.

After class we went to visit Marizza Shoup.
She recently put her house up for sale
and it sold the
second day.

We will miss having her living near us.
Well, I guess since we are moving, too, she wouldn't have been near us even if she had not sold her home.
Marizza is beautiful and has a beautiful smile.
She is an amazing gal.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 23, 2018

Today Walt had pool physical therapy.

He feels like this really helps him move better.

In the early evening we drove to Salt Lake City

They helped us with our luggage.

Woke up to this beautiful ceiling overhead...

Walt said they were built in 1935 just 30 years after
the first flight at Kitty Hawk, and they are still going!
Brian and Jenn might get to fly in this one
on June 6th, which is the day this year
it will be in the air.
It's the plane that Eleanor Roosevelt used during
her husband's U.S. Presidency years.

Walt loves to be around airplanes.

Here's Emma in the Recessional from her Webb School Graduation Ceremony...

Here's the photo after graduation of Emma with her Mom, Michelle, and her three sisters: Taylor, Avery, and Lizzy.

Time for Emma to open graduation gifts...
She got some fun "Eckerd College" items from Grampa 'n Grama Petersen.
Emma got a great surprise gift from her Dad and Jenn.  She even asked her Dad for a big hug...which for Emma who doesn't really like hugs...is a grand event!

Lizzy drew Emma a graduation cap because she heard her sister say she wished they were having caps and gowns at their graduation.  (The school had the girls wear white dresses and the senior boys wore theire school blazers.)
Lizzy got a hug, too.

A Tennessee Sunday...  Taylor was invited by her friend Abbey to go with her and her family for a week at the beach on the Gulf side of the Florida coast...Amelia Island.  She's ready for them to pick her up as we head to Church.

The Sermon at this Baptist Church this moring
was from Revelations 3:14-22
"...not hot nor cold, but lukewarm..."
with the moral of not being just a "casual Christian."

 Driving back home through the
Tennessee rolling hills...
Brian took the hose out to the pool house
to add some more
water to the pool to be ready for some
swim time after dinner and naps.

Brian

We have had a wonderful day with Brian and Jenn and their family...

We are so happy for Emma and her graduation time from The Webb School.

We said goodbye to her tonight as she will be flying to Alaska tomorrow to work for the summer.

We wish her a bright and happy future as she will be going to live in Florida while she attends Eckerd College in St. Petersburg.

We hope you have had a peaceful and restful Sabbath Day.

Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, know and love each one of us personally by name.  They want us to each have eternal happiness and return to live with Them again.

May we each strive for this.

We thank each of our seven children for their love and support.

Four of them were able to go to our home this Friday and Saturday to help do more sorting and packing.  Thank you Janie, Gary, Steve, and Julie.

Love from Walt and Eileen - Burley, I D A H O.
