October 26, 2015 - Monday ~ ~

Family Home Evening for our Empty Nesters in our Neighborhood was at Dave and Marilyn Gibbons home.
We had yummy hors d'oeuvres, tacos, and fruit.  Sherry Ormond made a Apple Strudel for dessert.  They have 5 apple trees that have had a bumper crop this year.

The fifteen attending are below--sitting: Eileen and Walt Petersen, Colleen McCall, Bonnie Hansen.
Standing--left to right are: Marilyn Gibbons, Scott Bloxham, G'lenn, Sherry and Steve Ormond, Dan Black, Ken Hansen, Gary McCall, Dave Gibbons, and Ken Fronk.
Bonnie Fronk took the photo.
Dave started the lesson by quoting from the Bible in Eccleseastics..."To everything there is a season..." and tonight is the season to have fun. We are going to play a game--Family Feud.
It was interesting to see the different fun personalities come out in our "older generation."  One team won more than the other team, but we didn't gloat about it. (Well, not much.)

It was a delightful time together.

October 27, 2015 - Tuesday
We did some catch up work around the house.  Walt worked on taking the final boards out from the back fence by the wood pile getting it ready to put up the new boards next week when Dale will come and help him.

In the early evening we went home teaching to David and Alice.  It is always a joy to visit with them in their beautiful home.

We had watched part of the movie from TCM early in October, but it had not recorded the entire movie.  So when I saw it was coming on again, I recorded the last hour and we watched the rest of it tonight: "55 Days at Peking." It took place in China in 1900 about the Boxer Rebellion.  We liked the three main actors: Charleston Heston, David Niven, and Ava Gardner.  It educated us about that era in China.  It was the end of the __________ Dynesty.

October 28, 2015 - Wednesday

We left at 12:30 noon to Twin Falls so we could go to the Chase Bank in Fred Meyer to deposit some money in the savings account of our friend in El Salvador who is helping us donate to a member in El Salvador who needs some help.

We also had time to go to Costco to get four items that we can buy there at a better price than anywhere else.  I also had the rechargeable batteries in my hearing aids checked.  They are still good.

We got to the temple in plenty of time for the 3:00 session.  However, Dale and Connie had some flat tire trouble, so Dale just barely made it into the session.  Connie did Iniatory work.  She didn't realize she probably could have made it into the session because it started about 7 or 8 minutes late because there were 12 missionaries in the session which took time to get them all in.

President and Sister Curtis of the Idaho Twin Falls Mission said that ten of these Elders were going home, and their two assistants were there.
However, 19 new missionaries arrived in the mission yesterday, so they have more now than before.

We had dinner at Maxie's Tomatoes.  Three of us had lasagna and Walt chose a chef's salad.

Our home teacher had told us he would come tonight at 8:15, but he must have forgotten.

October 29, 2015 - Thursday

I had an appointment with Dr. Spackman, our internist, this afternoon to check my thyroid and for an update on my diabetes.
My thyroid is doing okay.  My A1C had been 11.4 in the summer, but the blood test on Sept. 28 showed it had gone to 7.4.  The ideal would be below 7, but Dr. Spackman was happy with 7.4.

He advised both of us to get the flu shot and the new pneumonia shot, which we did.  We had had the first pneumonia shot a few years ago before leaving for one of our missions.  That is a life-time shot which prevents 10 strains of pneumonia.

Now this new Prevnar 13 penumonia vaccine is for 13 more strains of pneumonia.
Dr. Spackman said there are about 50 known strains of penumonia, but these 23 are the more serious, which these two different vaccines guard against.

Q: What is pneumococcal pneumonia?
A: Pneumococcal pneumonia can be a serious disease and becomes more common beginning at age 50. It’s a bacterial illness caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, a type of bacteria that can be carried every day in the throats of healthy people.

Q: How serious is it?
A: Pneumococcal pneumonia is serious. Its symptoms can be severe, appear quickly, and can last for weeks or longer.

Q: Who’s at increased risk for pneumococcal pneumonia?
A: If you’re an adult aged 50 or over, you may be at increased risk for pneumococcal pneumonia.

Q: Is there anything I can do to prevent it?
A: If you’re 50 or older, vaccination is a way to help protect against pneumococcal pneumonia. Ask your health care provider if it makes sense for you.

Q: What is PREVNAR 13®?
A: PREVNAR 13® is a vaccine approved for adults 50 years of age and older for the prevention of pneumococcal pneumonia and invasive disease caused by the 13 Streptococcus pneumoniae strains included in the vaccine.

Walt teasingly told Dr. Spackman's nurse, Trina, that he wasn't going to come with me next time (if he had to get a shot), even though he had told her she was so good at giving these two injections that he felt no pain.

We stopped off at the post office for me to send a package off to return some curtains we had ordered for our bedroom on the main floor.  They weren't anything like the photo in the catalog showed.

October 30, 2015 - Friday
Kathleen Hedberg, our ward family history specialist came and worked with us on our family history for two hours. She and Walt found another of Nellie Katie Olson Petersen's ancestors.

Then I dashed over to the store to get the rest of the ingredients we needed to make a big pan of chili for tonight.

We enjoyed our ward's Harvest Dinner.  The cultural hall was beautiful with autumn decorations.  The chili, cornbread, and various desserts were yummy.

We enjoyed sitting by Kathy Marker, her daughter Katie and her three little boys who were in their Halloween costumes.

October 31, 2015 - Saturday HALLOWEEN

We went to Eileen's classmate's funeral this morning in Gooding.  Vard McHan and Crystall Peterson McHan have 9 children. Two daughters gave his life sketch and two sons spoke, another son a prayer and another son, Vance, gave the dedicatory prayer for his Dad's grave.  Everything was so well done.

Other classmates there were Dale Miles, Rupert; Beverly Brownlee Mason, Meridian; and Barbara Parker Frith, Filer.
Walt's classmate, Rulon and wife Carolyn Chandler were also there.  Vard had been Rulon's counselor in the bishopric in Wendell, and also his counselor in the Wendell Stake Presidency.
I'm trying to figure out how to download my photo from my cell phone to put into the blog.

We stopped by Dale Bunn's home in Wendell on our way back to Burley, but no one was there.  Then I found this photo of him with a granddaughter and lots of great-grandchildren in their Halloween costumes.
So he was having a fun time with family.
We got back to Burley about 2:30 and for lunch had some of the homemade chili I'd made the day before for our Burley 3rd Ward Harvest Dinner.  It's our family tradition to have chili on Halloween.

We had a lot of Trick or Treaters come by last night starting at 5:30.  By 8:35 I had to turn the lights out because we were out of candy, and we figured no more little kids were coming when three tall teenage boys came knocking on our door.

Walt had never seen the movie Dorian Grey, which I had recorded from TCM so I had him watch it because it's referred to off and on and I wanted him to know the sad story of it.   Then we watched the crazy old movie of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Most of the actors have died. It was fun seeing most of it.  We speeded it up after the intermission so saw it in half the time.

November 1, 2015 - Sunday  Go off Daylight Savings Time
Sun rise was at 7:12 and sunset at 5:30. It sprinkled most of the day but wasn't too cold. Snow is predicted for Tuesday.

In our Church block of 10:50 to 1:50 we enjoyed the Spirit of the Lord.
The new son, Camdon, of Lori and Cameron Baker was blessed today by his father. Lori gave a sweet testimony.

We were blessed to partake of the sacrament and promise to always remember the Savior.

There were 12 testimonies shared today--Dan Murri, Lori Baker, Little girl, Marty, Scott Bloxham, Kathy Marker, Little girl, Donna Westerfard, Bro. Winmill, Christine Willich, Walt Petersen, and Tim Preston.

In Sunday School we learned from the Bible chapters of Colossians, Philemon, and Philippians that "We can do all things through Christ."

In Relief Society the subject was "Living the Gospel Joyful" as taught in October General Conference by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf.  Amber Greyson played the talk for us to see and hear President Uchtdorf and then had the sisters comment about it.

This afternoon from 3:00-4:00 we were able to teach Lesson #5 to the sweet couple who are taking the Temple Preparation class.  Lesson 5 is: "Learning From the Lord Through Symbols."

We hope you have had a peaceful and restful Sabbath Day.
To end this Sabbath Day post, I will share the testimony that Walt gave:

Walt said that since we have been home a year now, many "angels dressed as people" have helped us with many things, of which I am very grateful. The greatest angel of all is my sweetheart who takes such good care of me and never complains. I am so grateful for her kindnesses.  I thank each of you brothers and sisters who are an example to me. You are truly angels.
I believe that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that the Book of Mormon was translated by God.
I believe Jesus Christ is our Savior.
I believe President Monson is the true prophet today.
I believe the Church is true.
I believe we were placed here on earth for our good so that we can return to Heavenly Father to enjoy the fruits of the Gospel.  In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

I add my "Amen" to this testimony of my beloved eternal sweetheart.
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

October 19, 2015 - Monday ~ ~
Dr. Wickern for allergies

Abby for instruction

For FHE we talked about what to do about our home. It needs to be painted and some other upgrades.  We got an estimate last May but cannot afford to do all that was needed to be done.  We will down scale and try to get the siding, for sure, painted.  The soffits on the front porch and back patio need replacing.

October 20, 2015 - Tuesday
For Serendipity Book Club this month we met at the Chamber of Commerce where Kae Darrington Cameron told us all the exciting things that are going on in our South Central Idaho area.

In Relief Society tonight, Bonnie Fronk, our new evening meeting leader talked to us about stages of our lives by showing different cups.

The paper cup typified when we have little children and a glass cup could be broken.
A regular glass mug was symbolic of daily life as we are growing up.
A big mug would be used by our hungry teenagers.
Another regular mug we could use for grandchildren.
A delicate China cup would be used by us as we become empty nesters and have more time to pamper ourselves.

Sherry Ormond, Marilyn Gibbons, and Bonnie Fronk showed us how to make 7 different hors'd'ouevers, which were later served for refreshments along with 7 varieties of hot chocolate.

October 21, 2015 - Wednesday
We used the day to catch up on things at home.  I started to get my side of the office den more organized.

This evening was our Burley Idaho West Stake Talent Night at the King Fine Arts Center.  A delightful program was directed by Deborah Jones.

October 22, 2015 - Thursday

We went to the temple with Dale and Connie, then had dinner at Shari's.  We enjoy being with Walt's brother and his wife each week as we attend the temple together.

October 23, 2015 - Friday

Kathleen Hedberg helped us with some more genealogy. I got a haircut at noon.
We met with Todd Phillips, our CPA about our home.
Then we headed to Utah to join three of our families for the annual "cousins pumpkin carving night."

October 24, 2015 - Saturday

Julie cooked a yummy hot breakfast of waffles, link sausage, and bacon.  It was fun to have three of David and Julie's kids stay overnight with John and Julie's kids--Anna, Sam, William.
David came and picked them up at 11:30.

We watched some of the blow-out BYU vs Wagner game.  We were so happy when the small university of Wagner (1,900 enrollment we heard the announcer say) scored one touch down at least to the total 70 points that BYU got--even with the second string in.

Then we went to a movie with Julie and John "Bridge of Spies."
My sister, Janice, had e-mailed us that she and Jeff had seen it this week and it was excellent.
There was some language we did not appreciate toward the start, but it was an excellent movie of a historical fact we remember from the 1950s when Gary Powers was shot down over Russia and the USA negotiated with them to exchange him for one of their spies we had in prison.

Gary picked us up at 7:00 to go see Abbey in the band and color guard competitions being held at Pleasant Grove High School--there were bands/color guards from all over Utah and some from Idaho--seemed like a hundred of them or so.
It had started early in the day and Abbey's West Lake High School didn't have their turn until 8:00 that night.

They did a representation of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941.  Their backdrop was a huge cardboard replica of the navy battleship Arizona, that became the Arizona Memorial.  They did an outstanding job.

It was great to see how excellent Abbey is at spinning and catching her sword and rifle from so high up in the sky.

The huge football stadium was filled.  Gary got us some hot chocolate on the way home to get warmed up.  It wasn't a really cold evening, but we did get chilled.

October 25, 2015 - Sunday

We got up early and were on our way back to Idaho by 6:45, arriving home at 10:15.  It went fast since we were listening to The Agony and the Ecstasy.  We only have 13 hours left.  It has 648 pages...the book is larger than normal.

We were delighted to be back in time for our Sacrament Meeting which was the primary program today.  We didn't know it was also the primary program for our 10-y-0 grandson Isaac's ward today.  We had not taken Sunday clothes with us to Utah.

How tender it is to see the children do their parts and sing the primary songs about the Savior.  No wonder the Savior is quoted as saying: "Suffer the little children to come unto me for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."

In Sunday School Lesson #39 “For the Perfecting of the Saints”
  1.  Ephesians 1:9–10. Paul teaches that the purpose of the dispensation of the fulness of times is to “gather together in one all things in Christ."
     Purpose
To help class members understand that the process of “perfecting … the saints” (Ephesians 4:12) requires us to increase our faith in Christ, follow the teachings of the apostles and prophets, and protect ourselves from the wickedness of the world.
That's a tall order for us to do in order to fulfill the purpose of this lesson!
Sister Sutton had a marvelous manner in teaching the Relief Society lesson on "Strengthened by the Atonement," the October General Conference talk by Elder Dallin H. Oaks.
Christ went through pain and suffering so he could know how we feel s we go through our trials and heartaches.  He wanted to know how to succor us. "Succor" = give relief or aid to those who suffer.
Now if I can just do my part to repent and ask for forgiveness, I can be succored by this great Atonement of our Redeemer and Savior.
We pray you have had a restful and peaceful Sabbath Day.
We testify that Heavenly Father cares about every single thing in our life.
He sent His Only Begotten Son to fulfill His foreordination to become our Savior and Redeemer.  He stands ready to succor us through every problem.
The Prophet Joseph Smith was foreordained to restore The Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth again after it was taken from the earth shortly after the Apostles of Jesus Christ died--many of them my martyrdom.  It was the Great Apostasy.
We have Prophets and Apostles again on the earth today.  The living Prophet is Thomas S. Monson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ.  The Bible is the Testament of this same Savior, Jesus Christ.
Of this we testify on this Sabbath evening of October 25, 2015, as we heard the testimony of so many primary children this day.
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We were excited to head to Stanley Basin this morning.

The sad news is that somewhere between the Galena Summitt Lookout and when we stopped at Lake Alturas, my camera fell out of my pocket and is lost.

SO THERE WILL BE NO PHOTOS FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK'S BLOG...unless I can figure out how to transfer them from my cell phone to the computer.

October 13, 2015 - Tuesday
next  Since Dale was so sick in the night (we think it was food poisoning) we changed our plans about driving over to Yankee Fork, and headed back home after breakfast.

October 14, 2015 - Wednesday
next  We had changed our temple day because today was the only day this week that the couple could come for their Temple Preparation class.
However, they had a funeral (that, of course, can never be planned ahead) so the class was postponed.

We were planning to go to the temple on Thursday but at the "Meet the Candidates" for City Council, Walt's cell phone rang...Walt reached for it so fast to turn it off, that his cane fell to the floor and made even more noise.

When he returned the call as we were driving home, it was Dale telling us that Connie had had a doctor's appointment come up, so asked if we could change the temple day to Friday.
(I completely forgot that I had told LaRae Crane I could go visiting teaching with her on Friday.)

Today our grandson - Jacob Thad Petersen is 13 years old. He is the son of Gary & Kathy.

Jake, welcome to the teenage world.  We hope you enjoy being a teenager and progressing in the Aaronic Priesthood.  We love you!

October 17, 2015 - Saturday

Worked on computer

October 18, 2015 - Sunday

We went to Anson Call's mission report in Burley 5th Ward.
He has been in the California San Jose Mission.  He only spoke for 6 minutes.  He must have been nervous about taking too much time because the high councilor was also there to speak.
We think Elder Call was a great missionary.

Our block was from 10:50 to 1:50. Sometimes I catch myself having to concentrate because I was so long in countries where I didn't understand the language and couldn't concentrate.

We have been preparing to give a fireside in the View Ward about our 3 years serving as the Temple President and Matron of the San Salvador El Salvador Temple.

It was raining, but we got our visual aids there okay without their getting too wet.

It is a nice time of remembering for us when we get to talk about our time there with the members and working in the new temple.

October 5, 2015 - Monday ~ ~

This morning was the funeral for Delano Greener.  His four sons, Ben, Bryce, Barney, and Brent did a fine job speaking.  Brent was the Bishop presiding and conducting the funeral.  The granddaughters sang "♪♫When Grandpa Comes♫♪".  The grandsons were casket bearers.
It was a comforting funeral and was just an hour long, finishing at 1:20 p.m. because they were 20 minutes late in starting.

Mary and their kids and grandkids are going to miss Delano so much.  Delano and Mary were the coordinators on the Wednesday mid-shift at the Twin Falls Idaho Temple.
After the funeral we went to lunch at the Canton Buffet with Ruth Melling. Kassie was our waitress again.

The sign says: "Asian Buffet" and it is where Price's Café used to be.   We miss Price's, but the Chinese food is good there and the price is reasonable.
Walt worked on the vanity drawer some more.
For FHE we either read the Sunday School lesson or the Priesthood/Relief Society lesson for the next week, or discuss something we are planning to do for the week.
I didn't record what we did this evening, and since I'm posting this a couple of weeks later...I can't remember the specifics of what we did tonight.  (I think it's called "my old age of 76 years.")

October 6, 2015 - Tuesday
We taught a Temple Preparation Class this afternoon to a couple we started teaching the end of June whose summer scheduled got so busy and they were gone a lot.  We love being with them.  We're on lesson 3 of the 7.

Then I worked at getting my blog caught up and Walt worked at his computer.

October 7, 2015 - Wednesday
We drove to Twin Falls and rendezvoused with Dale.  Connie was not able to come today.  We did the 1:00 session because some friends had given them tickets for the Oktober Fest dinner in Twin Falls for tonight.

So Walt and I went to eat by ourselves.
We had a combined lunch-and-supper at Idaho Joe's.  We usually love their food, but today he didn't like the loaded potato soup he ordered.  On further inquiry I discovered it was because "it isn't like my Mom used to make."
Wish she were still with us so I could ask her how she made it.

I had the Quiche Lorraine and fruit.
We got home just in time for Jeopardy.  It's been fun watching the current champion--Matt Jackson--win so many days in a row.

October 8, 2015 - Thursday
This morning Walt got the vanity repairs almost finished.
This afternoon I was invited to the Friends of the Library Book Club gathering. Loanda Manning gave the book review on The Lincoln Hypothesis by Timothy Ballard published in 2014. The subtitle is DAY A MODERN-DAY ABOLITIONIST INESTIGATES THE POSSIBLE CONNECTION BETWEEN JOSEPH SMITH, THE BOOK OF MORMON, AND ABRAHAM LINCOLN.

The book review was well done with interesting discussion. It's a whole area I had not heard about before.  I checked out the book to peruse it further.

This evening we've been looking forward to since David Gibbons told us about Elder Enrique Falabella coming on Oct. 8.  Elder Enrique R. Falabella was called to serve as a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 31, 2007, at age 56. He served previously as an Area Seventy in the Central America Area.

Elder Falabella, of the First Quorum of the Seventy, was assigned to do the mission tour of the Twin Falls Idaho Mission.  President Gibbons, the first counselor in the Mission Presidency was asked to show him something this afternoon about Idaho, then serve him dinner in their home here in Burley.

They took him out to see the potato harvest at the Pickett Farm in Oakley.  They toured the big new potato storage facility and then the head of the potato digging crew had Elder Falabella go right up into the cab with the driver of the big tractor that was going down the long row of potatoes being harvested.  David said Elder Falabella had a big grin as he enjoyed this Idaho farm experience first hand.

We were invited to join them at 6:30 at the Gibbons'd home to have dinner with Elder Falabella, President and Sister Curtis, the mission president and wife, and the Gibbons.
President Gibbons knew we had worked with Elder Falabella in Guatemala at the MTC before he had been called to the Seventy, and also that Elder Falabella had been our Area President during our first year as Temple President and Matron of the San Salvador El Salvador Temple (August 2011 to August 2012).

The home-cooked roast beef dinner was perfect!
Here is a photo of everyone after dinner.  Elder Falabella helped me get my camera on "timer mode" then set up the camera so we could all be in the group photo.
Left to right: President and Sister Gibbons, Sister and President Curtis, Elder Falabella, Walt and Eileen Petersen.
Dave and Marilyn are such excellent hosts.
What a delightful evening!  We enjoyed seeing Elder Falabella again.

October 9, 2015 - Friday
Kathleen Hedberg, our Ward Family History specialist, came to help Walt work on the Swedish ancestors of his grandmother, Nellie Katie Olson.  They got another name to print out for the work to be done at the temple.
"...turn the hearts of the children to their fathers..."
This evening was an open house for Rachelle Young and Christopher Hiltbrand at the home of her parents, Brent and Cindy Young.  LaRae and I are Cindy's visiting teachers.
Walt had some words of wisdom for the happy newlyweds.

October 10, 2015 - Saturday
Ken Weeks came to mow our lawn--probably the last time for this season of green-lawn time.  It has been such a blessing to us for him to mow our lawn all summer.  And our lawn has never looked better!
  Thank you, Ken!
I baked some zucchini bread to take tomorrow for Luke Bunn's mission report and lunch.  It didn't raise, so I didn't take it.

Walt worked some more on the fence.
At 5:30 we went to Ruth Melling's to watch the BYU vs E. Carolina football game.  What an exciting game it turned out to be...with BYU doing a come-back in the 4th quarter to win 45-38.
FOOTBALL

October 11, 2015 - Sunday
We were up early to leave at 7:30 to drive to our hometown of Wendell for the 9:00 a.m. Sacrament Meeting for the mission report of Luke Bunn - son of Mitch and Karen Bunn - who are Walt's nephew and wife.
Well, it's not officially called a "mission report" anymore.  Our nephew, Luke Bunn, was speaking in Sacrament Meeting after returning home from his two-year mission to the Micronesia Guam Mission.

He learned to rely on the Spirit of the Lord in learning a difficult new language and of knowing where to go to find those ready to listen and how to teach them of the Great Restored Gospel.

Elder Bunn was full of optimism and willing to work very hard.  He taught many and helped them feel the spirit of the Lord and accept these truths. He taught and the Holy Ghost testified the truth to his miriad of investigators.  Many will call his name blessed and speak his name with reverence for years to come.
What a blessing he has been to the people in the Islands of Micronesia.
It has been a joy to follow Elder Bunn's weekly e-mails home about his work in the Micronesia Guam Mission.
Can you tell that his Mom and Dad--Mitch and Karen--are so happy to have him safely home!
The bishopric had Luke leave Sacrament Meeting first so he could go to the cultural hall and the members could greet him there.  Here his Great Uncle Dale Petersen talked with him.
(Dale's wife, Connie, was also taking a photo of them.)
President and Sister Owsley from Hagerman greet him.  They are the second counselor and wife in the Idaho Twin Falls Mission.
His Uncle Don and Aunt Jeanine Bunn, and his cousin Donna greet him.
And these Wendell brethren congratulate him.
Mitch and Karen hosted a luncheon for family and friends at their home.  His sister, Becky, husband Justin, and children Audrey and David came from Portland, Oregon.
I got a photo of Becky with her Grandfather Dale Bunn.
Luke's sister, Beth, her husband Justin  and daughter Natalie came from up by Rexburg, Idaho.
Here I got a photo of Beth with her Mom, Karen, and sister, Becky.
And here's a photo of Mitch with his Dad, Dale.
And Mitch's brother, Matt and wife Brenda.
Luke's Grandmother--Karen's Mom, Margene Anderson--was here from Delta, Utah.
Here's Karen with one of her sisters.
Luke's Aunt and niece from Utah.
Some more of Karen's siblings and their children--Luke's aunts and uncles and cousins also came from Utah.
More family from Idaho, Utah, and Oregon.
Also Mitch's sister came from the Tri-Cities--Brenda and Jerry Tagestad.
...and Beverly and son Andrew came from Boise.
l didn't get names and photos of everyone there, but there were a lot of family and friends who came
to welcome Luke home.
Here's some more of Mitch's family who came to honor Luke.
Luke's cousin Brittany and a friend are in
this photo with Luke and his grandfather.
Here's his cousin Jacob, son of Don and Jeanine.
And Dale and Laura, Don and Jeanine's oldest son and his wife.  Dale Bunn is blessed to have so many of his family living right in Wendell!
And friends were still coming as we were leaving.  Here are the Lancasters.
We we so happy be related to this great missionary --
Elder Luke Bunn who served so valiantly in the
Micronesia Guam Mission.
Here's Mitch and Karen Bunn's family two years ago in October 2013 just before Luke left on his mission.
And here is the immediate family with spouses and grandchildren.
Here is the beautiful home in the Idaho desert
on the northside of Wendell's city limits
that Luke has returned home to.
We pray you have had a peaceful and restful Sabbath Day.
We testify that the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints is true.
There was a great Apostasy
after the Apostles of Jesus Christ died.
Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ determined that
They would restore all things to the earth in 1820.
The United States of America became a free country
for God's purpose to have a place where His Truths
could be restored.

Joseph Smith was foreordained in heaven to become
the Prophet of this restoration.
That is why missionaries go throughout the world--
at their own expense--
to teach of this Great Restoration and
the Plan of Salvation.
Of this we testify and bear our witness.
In the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen
