Getting ready for Family Home Evening here tonight.

Our new Prophet
President Russell M. Nelson

We will follow our new Prophet...

"Keep on the Covenant Path...by
following the Savior...
and attending the temple."

We had 15 come to Family Home Evening.

We served saucy pork chops which I cooked
from my Mom's recipe.
This was her favorite meal to cook for company.
Roskelleys and McCalls brought mashed potatoes.
Ormonds brought hot veggies of a California Blend.
Bloxham brought tossed salad.

Dan Black brought a Jell-o cottage cheese-
pecan-cherry salad.
Gortons brought a fruit plate.
Gibbons brought hot out-of-the-oven
homemade rolls.
Fronks brought home-made chocolate cake
and vanilla ice cream to go with it.
So you can see it was a delicious dinner!
We had 9 in the living room...
and 8 in the dining room.
I'll have one photo extra large to see better.

I'll see which photo is in better focus.

wednesDAY, JANUARY 31, 2018

We had a great serendipity when our good friend, Joseph Sagers came to see us.
He was a counselor to Walt in the Stake Presidency from November 1986 to November 1992.
Walt's first counselors were Newel Nelson and Ralph Rasmussen, Jr.   Pres. Rasmussen moved to Utah in May 1996, then Spencer Lloyd was a counselor from May to October until he was transferred back to Utah.

President Sagers served as our Stake President from April 2001 to April 2010; he was Mission President of the Texas Ft. Worth MIssion from July 2010 to July 2013. He taught Institute in California until July 2015, then served a mission in the South from January 2016 to 1017.  He currently lives in Eagle, Idaho, where he and Sherre were over the ushers for the Meridian Idaho Temple Open House Oct 21 to Nov 11, 2017.
He and Sherre were in Burley the end of January visiting with their daughter and son-in-law Riley and Liza Harris and their grandchildren here.
We always enjoy visiting with these good friends.
Now we say...

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2018
We go to an Adult Religion Class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon taught by Nancy Blauer.   This semester it is on
The Family - A Proclamation to the World.  We learn so much!
Our dear friends, Terry and Jolene Miller came
to see us.  He was Walt's counselor when
Walt was called as the Branch President of
the Regional Singles Branch in January 2000.
In September of that year, it was made a Ward
which included the seven stakes in our Region:
Burley, Burley West, Rupert, Rupert West, Paul,
Oakley, and Declo Stakes.
They were released in September 2004.
Since then we have served three more missions:
Two years as the
Medical Advisor in Central America and  18 months in the
South America South Area, which includes
Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
Then three years as the  Temple President and Matron
of the new San Salvador El Salvador Temple from July 2011
to November 2014.
The Millers served a two-year mission to Australia.
So we haven't had a chance to see each other for
a long time.
They have moved from their homes in Minidoka,
then Acequia and have built a beautiful new home
a few miles just east of the Twin Falls Temple.
It was delightful to spend an afternoon with them.
How did it get to be February already!?

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2018

Connie called this morning. She said they tried calling yesterday but didn't get through.
CThis physician sent him to a Cardiologist, who determined that he needed to have a pace maker put in.
Connie was calling to tell us Dale was in the hospital where they were ready to take him back to surgery to have
this heart monitor put in.
So we drove right over to St. Luke's Hospital in Twin Falls.

Dale did very well and will just be in
the hospital over night and go home tomorrow.

The Church is true.
God lives and loves us.
Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and Savior.
Joseph Smith is the Prophet of the Restoration.
The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ.
Russell M. Nelson is the Prophet today.
Families are sealed in the temple forever because of the Restored Priesthood Temple Ordinances.
We leave this testimony at the end of this Sabbath Day - February 4, 2018.
