Traces of Time . . . June 26-July 2, 2023

 TRACES OF TIME . . .

"Time moves slowly, but passes quickly."
“The Color Purple” by Alice Walker, 1982

{Last week: Scroll to end and click "Older Posts" at bottom right.} On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.

Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen, their spouses, our 39 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and posterity to come.

Amazing what they could

 Here's a home in Riverton

Julie & John like.

We went to opening night of...

INDIANA JONES and the

Dial of Destiny

directed by James Manfold.

--from Wikipedia

“According to Mangold and Ford,

Dial of Destiny is about age, time

and family relationships. Mangold

said the film ‘is not about aging

per se, but time — the way time

travels for all of us, the way we

all get older as the world

changes around us.’

“…the film is a sequel to Indiana

Jones and the Kingdom of the

Crystall Skull (2008) and serves

as the fifth and final installment

in the Indiana Jones franchise.

The film stars Harrison Ford in

his fifth and final portrayal of

archaeologist Indiana Jones.

Made at a cost of $294 million.

We five loved it!

Well, some loved it

more than others.

Here's Julie's post from fb"

"Mixed reviews from our group.

At the end of the day-super

impressive an 80 yo is

acting at this level.

Go get ‘em Indy!"

Happy Birthday to our

years they lived in

Burley from 1968 to 2004,

plus our continued

friendship to now.

Happy "95" today,

Ross.

Family is Everything…

      Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward

John Peterson, 2nd Counselor,

presided today.

 Bishop Cheney and

David South, 1C,

are both out of town.

Sue Allen gave

the opening prayer.

Eleven testimonies

were shared:

John Peterson, Kris Culmone,

Richard Webb,

Melanie Williamson,

Visitor--a R.S. Sister

Kylee Ballantyne,

Maggie Williams,

Harper Burton,

(these three above
 are 10 and 11 y-o girls)

Visitor--a young woman

Ken Culmone,

Stephanie Howell

Julie Peterson gave

the closing prayer.

Gospel Doctrine was on

"The Resurrection"

Matthew 28,

Mark 16,

Luke 24,

John 20-21.

These four Gospel

accounts have various

bits 'n pieces, so

Brother Witham shared the

following harmonized summary...

I know that
It's going to be so interesting

when we are resurrected to see

how it all works.

Julie started a nice new tradition--

having breakfast after church

since we go at 9:00 this year.

The Tabernacle Choir

program today was outstanding:

"The Essentials of Freedom"

ending with

♪♫♪Battle Hymn of

the Republic♪♫

John cooked another

delicious Sunday

roast-beef dinner...

Thanks, John.

Riggy came in to my

cozy cottage at 5:00

and said:

Dinner is ready.

Nice summer day...

I wondered why Max

was hanging out in the

driveway at 7:45 when

my computer thermometer

for outside showed 90 degrees.

Then Julie & John drove in.

** *I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this

 Great Plan operational.
At the end of this July 2nd,

I pray you have had a

restful , peaceful, and spiritual

Sabbath Day...

I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.
He loves us just
as we are at this very moment.
He knows what our potential is.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."

***  *** *** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.  Because of the restored Temple Ordinances families can be sealed for eternity.

*** *** ***
Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
