Traces of Time . . . February 27 to March 5, 2023

Traces of Time . . .             {Last week: Scroll to end and click "Older Posts" at bottom right.} On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.

Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen, their spouses, our 39 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and posterity to come.

Family is Everything…

Institute
Lesson 17 -18

Institute
Institute
Institute
Institute
Institute
What is one word in the
Sacrament Prayer for the
water that is not in the
prayer for the bread?
[Not counting bread/water,
flesh/blood]
"Do"
We refer to our body as a temple.
...We are a temple that is
not yet finished...
not perfected.
Institute
Institute
Camie painted this
unfinished Saratoga Springs
Temple for class today.
I got a photo of 11 of the 20
who came to class today.
L-R: Gordon, Linda, Carol,
Camie, Cheryl, Sam, Eileen,
Marlene, Patty,
and Russ.
Gordon took this photo
so Heather (left) and
Betsy (second from right)
could be in it.
Camie is always inspired to
invite us to keep "building our
earthly temple to be finished
with perfection" by asking
us who we can bring to
Christ -- or back to Christ.
This reminds me of what
Neal A. Maxwell said in a talk
quoting C.S. Lewis:
"C. S. Lewis put it well when he gave us the analogy of remodeling the human soul and a living house: 'Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently, He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of—throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace.' (Mere Christianity [New York: Macmillan, 1960], p. 174.)"

Here's something from my

high school days...

Class of 1957

Eileen Albertson – February 2017

Your SENIOR year of high school… The longer ago it was, the more fun the answers will be!

1, The year? Wendell High School Class of 1957

3. What kind of car did you drive? My dad’s old Studebaker – only had one car in family.

4. Friday night football games? Yes. Played in the school band at the games.

5. What kind of job? I cooked supper every night to have ready when my Mom and Dad got home from work.

6. Were you a party animal? No, no one was.

7. Were you considered a jock? No, they had eliminated girls’ competitive sports during those years.

My boyfriend was quarterback and basketball star,

8. Were you in the band? Yes, a drummer.

9. Were you a nerd? No, but was class salutatorian

10. Do you still live in same school district? No, Burley is an hour away from Wendell, Idaho.

11. Can you sing the school fight song ? Yes

12. What was your school mascot? Trojan

13. If you could go back and do it again would you? Of course, great class with 42 in it.

14. Are you still in contact with people from high school? Yes, I married a Wendell graduate.

Walt was a senior when I was a 7th grader.

15. Do you know where your high school sweetheart is? He passed away in 2007 from cancer.

I was editor of our high school newspaper: The Trojan Echo

I haven't thought of most of these things for years... Thanks for the stroll down memory lane back to my high school daze.

On this day

 * *I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.

At the end of this March 5th,

I pray you have had a

restful , peaceful, and spiritual

Sabbath Day...

I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.
He loves us just
as we are at this very moment.
He knows what our potential is.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."

***  *** *** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.  Because of the restored Temple Ordinances families can be sealed for eternity.

*** *** ***
Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
