                                            V  O T E
                                         on this Election Day

As (Walt's) Grampa Bide, and (Walt's Mom) Grama Jane, and
my Mom - Grama A would say:
I think Walt's Dad was a Republican, but he wasn't as vocal about it.
I didn't ever hear my (Mom's parents) Grampa 'n Grama Huffaker discuss politics, nor my (Dad's Mom) Grama Albertson.
(My Dad's father) Grampa Albertson I never knew during his
life time, even though he lived until I
was age 16 in Albion, Idaho about
65 miles from Wendell, Idaho where I lived.
I do know my Dad was a democrat because
he used to think the unions helped the
working man, until he found out they
didn't keep their word about his
benefits when he retired.
And that is the end of my
little soapbox drama
this election day.
5 days later this "may" be the outcome...
Nov 8: News Updates

I went to the oral dentist this morning.
Dr. Christopher Burton pulled out two teeth (#5 #6) on the top right
of my eye-tooth bridge tooth. The #5 tooth that has been holding this
bridge for 69 years has developed a cavity and infection has gone up
into my gum. The #6 tooth is okay, but has been filled several times
and may turn bad in a year or two, so he felt it should come out also,
and put in two implants, plus build a new bridge. Sometimes masks
are a good thing when it covers a toothless smile.
                                          ....before
                                        ...after. Too bad Halloween is
over. I could be a toothless witch.

Family is Everything...
  The Ladies Lunch was postponed
then un-postponed. Sharon called
to pick me up, but I told her I was
leaving for Idaho for a funeral
of a dear friend and neighbor.
Kaye Melling Benham drove up from
St. George to take Ruth Melling to Burley.
I got to ride with them.
(We were anxious to get on our way
and we didn't get any photos.
--- --- --- --- ---
We got to Burley about 5:30 and over
to the viewing before 6:00.
Viewing for Darrell M. Roskelley
The family had a nice display for
their husband and father...
1947-2020 are the years Darrell
lived on this earth.
Ruth, Kaye, and I liked seeing
the photos and mementos from his life.
They had a beautiful family photo
taken in October.
 Everyone had masks...
 Beautiful flowers...
Pat and Carlyn Campbell - neighbors
and friends were there...
 Jennifer put together a wonderful
slide show highlighting her
father's outstanding life
of service.
Jennifer is sitting in the middle
of Alyson and Lori Ann.
Ruth, Kaye and I watched the
video from beginning to end.
I liked that Jennifer put cutlines
to explain various photos.

their photo by him...
From there Janie took me to
Rasmussen Funeral Home
where I had an appointment
with Ben Bierman to plan
my funeral...
choose my casket...
I chose the lavender one like
Jared's grandmother had recently.
Now it's all planned and paid for.
Except we're still working on details
for the headstone, which will be
paid for when it's finalized.
It will be from Harris Monuments
in Burley, Idaho.
I feel really good about getting
this all decided...but hope
I still have several years
before it will be carried out.
Thanks, Janie, for helping me
remember what we'd all talked
about earlier. And details for
the headstone...
that will be similar to my
Grampa 'n Grama Huffaker's...
...and my Dad and Mother's which we
will be next to in the Wendell,
Idaho Cemetery,
and just a ways away is Walt's
Grampa Bide 'n Grama Rie...
...and his Dad and Mom's graves...
Ray and Jane Petersen.

    November 7, 2020 – the big “60”

Here’s a poem about your Grandfather Robins..

Whom you were given his middle name:

Lloyd Rulon Robins – 1911 to 1993

 "In our collective memory,

We have a picture of Dad

Fly-fishing—

Line whipping bright against the sun.

He taught us to fish for truth

By the motion of his life,

And on occasion by his finer

Defining eddies in the stream.

 He surrounds us.

We swim amid the currents

Of his expectations

And float in the waters of his faith."

Shawn, we hope you have a

very happy birthday, today

in Rexburg, Idaho.

They're ready to leave for "One-Man Band" for breakfast.

and look what they brought me.
They invited me to come, but I'm
trying to work every minute on
getting my Mom's Life Story
done by Christmas.
This is her 100th year since she
was born...have 450 pages
so far, but most of it is double
spaced so it will be about half that
probably because I'm putting it
to single spaced.

John brought me in this
yummy bbq supper that he
cooked for his family, siblings,
nieces and nephews..
and when I needed a break from

...working on my Mom's life story
all day, plus some work
on my blog, I happened to catch the

Family is Everything...
Walt and I liked watching "Jeopardy!"
together. We felt good if we could
answer three questions during
the 30 minutes.
I was sad to hear that Alex Trebec,
the long-time host of "Jeopardy" has
died this morning of stage 4 pancreatic
cancer at the age of 80.

Trebek revealed in March 2019 that he had been diagnosed with Stage Four pancreatic cancer. “I have lived a good life, a full life and I’m nearing the end of that life,” he told USA Today in October. Sony has confirmed that “Jeopardy!” episodes hosted by Trebek will air through Dec. 25, and his last day in the studio was Oct. 29. “Jeopardy!” is not announcing plans for a new host at this time.

“Today we lost a legend and a beloved member of the Sony Pictures family,” said Tony Vinciquerra, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. “For 37 amazing years, Alex was that comforting voice, that moment of escape and entertainment at the end of a long, hard day for millions of people around the world. He was the heart and soul of ‘Jeopardy!’ and he will be deeply missed by everyone who made him part of their lives. Our hearts go out to Jean, Matthew, Emily and Nicky.”

The Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward had a real Sacrament Meeting which was also on Zoom. Bishop Ted Mardesich presided and conducted. He shared some thoughts about Pres. Nelson's General Conference talk after Michael and Krista spoke.

Then in the Relief Society zoom meeting, 39 sisters logged in. The Relief Society Presidency was changed last Sunday, so today, the new President, Chelsea, who had been the second counselor in the out-going presidency, had both presidencies bear their testimonies.

Sister Val Green thanked everyone for supporting her during the five years she served. She said how much she has learned from each Sister. Her first counselor, Stephanie Howell, shared her thanks and her testimony. She said she's a "murmurer" but she learned why they focused their entire last year on "ministering" in Relief Society.

Sister Smith said since she shared her testimony last Sunday when she was sustained, she had her first and second counselors, and secretary share their testimonies.

The new SS 3rd Ward Relief Society is: Chelsea Smith, president; Kathie Hatch, 1C; Sterrett, 2C; Laura Hunter, secretary. -

*** *  I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.
At the end of this November 8th,
I pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
I share these truths as my testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.

President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.

The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.

Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
