Family is Everything...
I got a quarterly check with my
family physician today...
...at the new Lehi Willowcreek
Family Medicine Clinic.
I got the "age 65-and-over flue shot."
Plus had a blood test for my AIC and
thyroid. My AIC came back 8.0.
Last January it was 8.2.
In June it was 7.8.
I need it to it back down under
8.0 again.
The gal who gave the injection and
drew my blood was so good. I didn't
feel either one. And my veins are
not easy to get in to anymore.

As I came in this gal was just putting
the Christmas tree together. When I
left, she had it almost all decorated.
I think we're all ready for it to
start looking a lot like Christmas!
A yummy supper of steak...
...and baked potatoes.
Not too cold today.

Family is Everything...
I had a fun serendipity today.
Julie took out the rocking chair
                                                    that goes here...

Now has my Christmas tree that Jackson and Julie
brought in from the storage shed...
                                                            Riggy helped put on some
of the ornaments that had fallen off. We store it still decorated.
Now it's up and lit. So exciting to have it up. We've never
put a Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving before, but as Julie
says: "These are not normal times."

Family is Everything...
  Today our Ladies Lunch
was at Kneaders.
  We had ten come today.
Left front to back:
Kaye, Sharon, Eileen, Tammy.
Right, front to back:
Adele, Amelene, Jennie,
Kathie, Lois, Judy.
 Judy and Lois...
 ...Lois and Kathie
 Sharon...
The people at the table in the back left,
changed from where they were
sitting, so we could all sit together.
That was very nice of them.
Tammy was by the cozy fire.
 Kaye...
 Kathie, Jennie, Amelene...
 Jennie, Amelene, and Adele...
No one wanted to leave. We enjoy
talking with each other so much...
today about trials in families, 72-hour
kits, the out-come of the election,
premonitions, Thanksgiving gatherings,
faith crisis, taking
things to D.I., and all-in-all to trust
in the Lord. He is in charge.
We all enjoyed the fire in the fireplace.
We will not have lunch together next
Wednesday since
it is the day before Thanksgiving.
 Judy, Amelene, and Adele...
...both photos of them turned out
so well, I'm leaving both in to let
them choose which one they want
to copy and save.

Sharon and Eileen...
We did wear our masks.
I appreciated Sharon driving
me to Kneaders.
After Thanksgiving,
I will be gone
for two weeks to Minnesota, so
will join the gals again on Dec 16.
Natalie came to cut my hair.
What a nice daughter-in-law!
For our movie tonight
Gary and I watched
"The Right Stuff"
for 1983
We liked it a lot.
Brave men have led the
way to go into space.

Family is Everything...
  We're choosing a headstone, which
will be next to the headstone for
my Dad and Mom,
Arnold and Verna Albertson.
Wendell Cemetery
...and Grandfather and Grandmother Huffaker--
my mother's parents,
S. David and Ella Morris.
Wendell Cemetery
Headstone for Ray and Jane Petersen,
Walt Dad and Mother.
Wendell Cemetery
Walt's Grandfather and Grandmother Prescott,
Byrum Heber and Maria Smith.
His mother's parents.
Wendell Cemetery
Walt's sister's headstone Wendell Cemetery.
Jane LaVon "Bonnie" Petersen Smith Degler
Walt's sister's headstone,
Phyllis Gay Petersen Bunn
and her husband, Dale.
Wendell Cemetery.
Back of Phyllis and Dale's headstone.
First draft of headstone for us --
Walt and Eileen Petersen.
The stethoscope and camera and palm tree
will be on the back by each side of
our children's names.
Stethoscope on the left back;
camera and palm tree on the right back.
The estimated cost is $2900.

I had a tooth pulled today on the bottom right.
(Tooth #31 for any who know than lingo.)
Dr. Christopher Burton, the oral surgeon,
said it looked really bad when he got it out--
(just as the x-ray had showed) and it was
good that he took it out.
So I'm on smooth, cold food today.
Julie took me and picked me up. I sure do
appreciate living with them, and all the
help she and John give me.
I'm supposed to take two Amoxicillin today
so I won't get infection. So far I haven't
had a lot of pain. I think the deadening
is about worn off.
It feels warm outside...52 degrees.
I love having my Christmas tree up.
Thanks to Jackson and Julie for
bringing it in Tuesday
Gotta figure out why the blue
lights aren't lighting up.

Family is Everything...
Message of Hope from our Prophet--
President Russell M. Nelson
at 11:00 a.m. MST  (only 14 min long)

Message of Hope…

“Power of Gratitude”

November 20, 2020

For the next seven days, flood social media with a wave of gratitude using the hashtag #GiveThanks.

Gratitude is a fast-acting and long-lasting spiritual prescription that soothes us from sorrow and sadness. Earlier today, global faith leader and prophet, President

Russell M. Nelson

of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints shared how you can experience its healing power:

“I invite you … to turn social media into your own  personal gratitude journal. Post every day about what you are grateful for, whom you are grateful for, and why you are grateful. At the end of seven days, see if you feel happier and more at peace.”

Watch President Nelson’s full message at PowerofGratitude.org

What you are grateful for:

Start of my 7-day “Personal Gratitude Journal”

Three basics I am thankful for today – November 20, 2020:

1.      I’m thankful for this beautiful earth created for us to live on by Christ under the direction of His Father.

2.      I’m thankful for the Atonement of that same Christ that makes the Plan of Salvation operational.

3.      I’m thankful for knowing that because of the Savior’s Atonement we will all be resurrected and I will be with my eternal sweetheart, Walter Ray Petersen, forever, and our posterity will be ours forever.

 Whom you are grateful for:

Why you are grateful:

(I don't know how to do hashtag yet, but Julie will teach me. #GiveThanks .                                     She taught me: Just type #GiveThanks. That's easy enough.) The last I saw was 383,706 had tuned in to President Nelson's message. It should be 383,000,000! One Burley fellow immediately posted that the Prophet had missed an opportunity by not telling everyone to wear a face mask. I am so sad for this person to only have criticism and think he knows more than a Prophet of God.

Family is Everything...
Today is three months since
Walt went to live in Heaven.

Day 2...

Sat, Nov 21, 2020 – Day 2 of my 7-day “Personal Gratitude Journal                                                What am I grateful for: That I was able to be with my husband for 59 years.                            Who am I grateful for: Walter Ray Petersen, my eternal sweetheart                                            Why am I grateful: Because if I had not been prompted to go home from BYU for that      summer to work between semesters and if Walt had not been prompted to come home            after his first year of medical school to work, we never would have dated and fallen in love.   #GiveThanks                                                                                                                                               ------------------------------------------------------------

                                                             Day 3

Sun, Nov. 22, 2020 – Day 3 of my 7-day “Personal Gratitude Journal”

What am I grateful for: The love, consideration, and thoughtfulness of my family.

Who am I grateful for: My 7 children, their spouses, and 39 grandchildren.

Why am I grateful: Because my mother was only able to have two children,

and I wondered if I would be able to have children. I’m thankful I was

able to have these seven children who have grown up to be honest,

hard-working, law-abiding, kind, wonderful women and men. And that

they have chosen spouses of the same caliber. And now these couples

are raising their children to have the same qualities.

 Day 3

*** *** ***  *** *** ***
Julie and Jacee are both speaking
in our Sacrament Meeting today.
I'll share the link when I get it.
Bishop Mardesich told me that our
family is welcome to open the Zoom
webcast of it to see and hear them speak.
These webcasts cannot be recorded, so
it will be just the actual time of 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.
A photo of Julie back in 2013 with her Dad.
A photo of Jacee from today...
They were both given the
General Conference talk by
Elder Soares on temptation "
to talk about.
Janie said:
"Ditto to what Steve said.
And I may not be able to read 'for behold'
anymore without bellowing it."
Steve said:
"I laughed, I cried, and
I resolved to be a better person.
Love you both!! Excellent
preparation and presentation.
David said:
Jacee and Julie, so great!
Very heartfelt. I felt the
spirit very strongly!"
"P.S. Jacee is indeed
taller."
(Jacee had said one thing about her
talking the same day her mother did:
"You all can see that I am taller."
To which Julie said when she came
to the pulpit right after Jacee:
"Jacee is not taller than I am.")

Julie Black Petersen, David's
wife said:
"Well done ladies!
So great we were able
to zoom in!"
Adding "And I discovered
why singing a hymn never worked for me.
I am musically challenged, too."

Jen said: "Great talks, both
Jacee and Julie!" Jen echoed
what Julie Black said about
being 'musically challenged.'"

Julie ended that brother-sister
texting with:
"Disliked "PS Jacee is
indeed taller."
----------------
Another delicious Sunday
Roast Beef Dinner.
Thanks, John and Julie.
Time for family games together...
starting with
"Throw Throw Burrito!"
Grama Eileen...
...or Grama Petersen
We can almost see the
mountains today.

Bill Miller, my ministering brother,
came to introduce himself to me.
He brought some cinnamon rolls his
wife made. I think they are the best
I have ever had. Very well done, and
not too thick. Yummy!
