Family is Everything…
Karen, R.N., checked Walt's
blood pressure.
Eleven were able to come to FHE tonight,
hosted by Howard and Sharon Howell.
Since there are 21 stairs up to
their home, their son, Brandon and
his wife Stephanie, and their kids
went out to dinner while we
met in their family room.
Linda Hartley brought a
delicious dessert which she
called "Death by Chocolate."
Then we heard James B. Cox on the
DVR teach "Becoming
Spiritually Centered."
Sitting: Linda, Allen, Jennie.
Standing: Nelson, Howard, Sharon,
Judy, Dean, Nadine, Andrew.
(Sorry I wasn't steady enough to
get a clear photo.)
Nadine took this photo for me to be in it.
She got a much clearer photo.
Front: Eileen, Linda, Allen, Jennie.
Standing: Nelson, Howard, Sharon,
Judy, Dean, Andrew.
Thanks, Nadine.
Nadine also showed us how to make
a reservation at the
Lehi Family Library to have our
photos or videos digaltized in
just a few minutes.

Family is Everything…
Institute resumed today after the
Holiday break from November 20-January 7.
  Institute was Chapters 15, 16, and 17
of Saints - 1816-1846
The Standard of Truth
taught today by Sue Spencer.
The new co-teacher, Camie Williams,
from the Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward
was introduced.

"Growth, Persecution, and Challenges"
If you want to read the power point,
just click the picture to enlarge.
If you are not interested in
Church History...
 ...just scroll on down
  ...to the end of today.
 Sister Sue Spencer is a
great teacher...
 ...and creates a lot of
 class discussion...
...which fulfills the scripture:
"...when all have spoken."
Don't you just love The Book of Moses!
It certainly adds to our
understanding of Genesis.
Joseph Smith is the Prophet
of the Restoration.
How blessed we are...
...to have the revelations...
...for our day.
...are we going to be...
...persecuted
...in our day?
Will we say: "What can I do to
learn from this difficult experience?
I always take notes.
Will our faith be tested?
Quotes from our living Apostles...
Elder Andersen,
Elder Bednar,
Promises from the Lord...
Promises from the scriptures.
How can we know that
Joseph Smith was (and is)
a Prophet of God?
It was a cold, but sunny, winter day.
I missed Walt being with me
at Institute today.
Walt is sleeping a lot now.

Family is Everything...
We gathered for our monthly
Ladies Luncheon at Chuck-a-Rama today.
The seven able to come in January are:
Front: Sue, Sharon, Kaye.
Back: Judy, Eileen, Linda, Linda.
It always is a brighter photo outside.
Linda, Linda, Kaye, Sharon, Judy, Sue.
Tonight we resumed our Wednesday
tradition of watching a movie with Gary.
(Since Christmas and New Year's Day
were both on Wednesdays, we only had
three Wednesday movies in December.)
We chose to start 2020 by movies that
relate to the Bicentennial of the Restoration
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the true
Church restored because of the Vision
of a 14-year-old boy in the Spring of 1820.
The Church-related movie tonight was
about the mission of an Idaho young man
to Tonga: "The Other Side of Heaven"
about John Groberg's mission to
the Island of Neu.....
This movie was released
Dec. 14, 2001

                                    We always enjoy having Gary
                                      come to be with us.
We say "Good Night" to another
day in our life.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 2020
Family is Everything...
One of my favorite paintings
of a depiction of the
Glorious Second Coming
of the Savior...
Marci helped Walt start the day.
 Karen, R.N. filled Walt's pill
boxes for two weeks.
His blood pressure is
142/76 today which Karen
said is: "Just fine."
We watched a 1936 movie about
Louis Pasteur...he did a lot
for the health of mankind...
The Story of Louis Pasteur is a 1936 American biographical film...that stars Paul Muni as the renowned scientist who developed major advances in microbiology, which revolutionized agriculture and medicine. The film's screenplay...tells a highly fictionalized version of Pasteur’s life...[so much for learning about Pasteur's true life]
Muni won an Academy Award for Best Actor... The film was nominated for Best Picture.  Muni also won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor from the Venice Film Festival in 1936.
Then we watched the
BYU Basketball. St. Mary's is
favored to win by 4 points.
At half the Gaels led by 3 points.
It tied 77-77.
Saint Mary's won in overtime.

Family is Everything...
I took only two photos today...
Out our front window this afternoon,
...and out our back window
just before sunset
Walt slept four hours this afternoon,
but then he sleeps okay at night, also.

For a "Friday night movie" he watched
the end of "Scarface" with me...a gangster
movie about the 1920s...kinda about Al Capone.
Then we watched one of my favorite
movies from the 1950s...
the 1956 "Written on the Wind"
with Rock Hudson, Robert Stack,
and Lauren Bacall. I really like
the actor, Robert Stack.
Written on the Wind is a 1956 American Technicolor melodrama film directed by Douglas Sirk and starring Rock Hudson, Lauren Bacall, Robert Stack and Dorothy Malone.
The screenplay by George Zuckerman was based on Robert Wilder's 1946 novel of the same name, a thinly disguised account of the real-life scandal involving torch singer Libby Holman and her husband, tobacco heir Zachary Smith Reynolds. Zuckerman shifted the locale from North Carolina to Texas, made the source of the family wealth oil rather than tobacco, and changed all the characters' names.

Family is Everything...
I saw this cute tree with snow falling
that Riggy made in pre-school yesterday.
What a fun way to save a child's hand print.
Gary came to help us take down
our Christmas tree. We wrap plastic
around it and store it all decorated.
We do take our special ornaments
off and pack them carefully in a box.
Then he took us to Costco for
me to get my hearing aids cleaned.
(Gary is sending me the
photo he took of us there.)

After that we had lunch at
Rumbi's...
Thanks, Gary, for all your help.
And, thanks, Julie and John for
helping take down and store all
of our Christmas decorations.
It is very appreciated.

T.J. Haws passed his
Dad's BYU record tonight
in Assists. T.J. is about
to break Fredette's record
in Assists for
BYU Basketball.
The Cougars won tonight in the Marriott Center.
The Portland Pilots were in Provo.
96-70. Even tho the Cougars were
up 21 points at the half (51-30),
the Pilots came within 7 in the
second half before the
Blue rallied to
win by 26.
Fun game to watch.

Family is Everything...
We didn't get to go to Church today.
Walt's knees are giving out on him,
and it was snowing so we were afraid
of slipping on the slick sidewalks.
As a newly ordained priest, for his first time
Jackson blessed the sacrament for us
and John passed it. This is all with
Bishop Mardesich's authorization.
Thank you, Jackson and John.

We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.
In painting below, Robert T. Barrett
depicts the Savior at the Second Coming.
Joseph Smith received revelation about
the Second Coming found in
Doctrine and Covenants 133.

At the end of this January 12th,
we pray you have had a restful , peaceful, and spiritual Sabbath Day...
We share these truths as our
testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
