This week in Idaho and Utah...

December 7, 2014 - Sunday
Happy Birthday to our granddaughter, Anna. Here she is on left, with cousins Sarah and Jacee on Thanksgiving Day 2014.
Couldn't get the cute photo of her with Joshua her brother, to post from face book.

Today we went to Sacrament Meeting at the Lake Mountain 4th Ward with Gary, Jacob, and Isaac, then went over to Julie & John's to hear Julie teach Gospel Doctrine on The Temple, from Ezekiel in the Old Testament.
It was fun seeing the photos that Kathy, McKell, and Abbey were sending from Hawaii where Abbey was with her West Lake Color Guard and Band to march in the Pearl Harbor Day Parade.
We appreciated staying at Gary & Kathy's new home.
After all of us had dinner with Julie & John and family, including Gary, Jacob, and Isaac, we drove back to Burley.
John does a great roast beef dinner each Sunday.
We got back to Burley just in time for The First Presidency Christmas Devotional, but just as President Eyring began to speak, the TV changed the BYU channel to a different channel and by the time I figured out where the BYU channel was, Devin Durrant was giving the closing prayer.
So we'll have to stream it later.
We always love hearing the Apostle, Elder D. Todd Christofferson, and Sister Bonnie Oscarson.
"A story that never gets old..."

December 6, 2014 - Saturday
We had a fun serendipity when Gary drove us to the University Mall in Orem for us to get a Christmas Tree.  We walked into Tai Pan and there was our friend Beverly Glazier who is the wife of the El Salvador San Salvador East Mission President, David Glazier, who served their during our three years.  How wonderful to see "Hna. Glazier" again.
Even though they were out of the Christmas tree we had gone to buy, it was worth the drive to see her.
The reason we went to Utah was to see Jacee dance....and she did not disappoint.  She is a great dancer! Is it any wonder...both her Mom and Dad are also great dancers.  It's in her genes, but she also works hard at it.
Here she is with her cousins, Jasmine and Jada, after her 3:00 performance.
Here Jacee is with other family members who came to the 1:00 performance.
Here she is with her Dad & Mom and Rigdon after the 1:00 performance.
We then had lunch with Gary and the kids, watched a Christmas movie from 1985, then got to talk with Gary, Julie, and John for a while.  Steve and Natalie were having dinner with old friends so couldn't make it over.

December 5, 2014 - Friday
We drove to Utah and got there just in time to go to Julie & John's ward Christmas Party, along with John's parents--Brent & Vicki.

December 4, 2014 - Thursday
Happy Birthday to our granddaughter, Heidi. It sounds like you had a great day. Congratulations on filling all your high school requirements already!

This is the tree we almost bought at the Festival of Trees.  I wish we would have.  We did buy a wreath.
December 3, 2014 - Wednesday
We enjoyed our being at the Festival of Trees at the Gala on Wednesday evening. We sat by Al & Kathy Barrus, and Steve & Susan Tuft.
We were able to see a lot of friends we hadn't seen before.  Here Fuzz Thurston and his mother Dody, are talking with Walt.
We would have enjoyed going all three days to have seen many other friends.  But it was more important that we got to go see Jacee dance.
December 2, 2014 - Tuesday
We met with our CPA, Todd Phillips. It is very nostalgic going in to Newel Nelson's CPA office without him there. We were sad that he passed away while we were gone.
December 1, 2014 - Monday
After going to the bank, Walt asked: "Where should we go to breakfast?"  We both chose Charlie's CafĂ©.
For old-fashioned, delicious food, Charlie's is one of the best-kept secrets in Burley. And that's old-fashioned hot chocolate in the mugs.

And that is our week of Dec. 1 to Dec. 7, 2014
We pray you have had a peaceful and restful Sabbath Day.

We share our testimony on this Fast and Testimony Day that we are the spirit offspring of our Father in Heaven and that He wants us to be successful in this life so that we can return to live with Him again in Heaven....this time forever and ever.
*
Jesus Christ is not only the first spirit offspring of our Father in Heaven--(quoted just tonight by Elder D. Todd Christofferson unquote) and thus our Elder Brother in the Spirit World, but also the literal physical offspring of our Father in Heaven, sent to earth to be our Redeemer and Savior by Atoning for all of our wrong-doings.
*
We hope we can show our love and gratitude to the Savior for all He has done for us by keeping the commandments and honoring all the covenants we have made with Him.
*
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration of all truths for these latter days.  Because he fulfilled that foreordination, we have the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today.  You would be wise to listen to the missionaries who are teaching of this Great Restoration throughout the world today.
*
The true Priesthood Temple Ordinances are included in this Great Restoration.  The sealing power of the priesthood seals couples and families together forever if we are true and faithful and endure with joy to the end.
*
We have a Prophet for the whole earth today.  His name is Thomas S. Monson, the Prophet and President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
*
The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. You would also be wise to read this book.  It will change your life for the better.
*
Of these truths we testify.  In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Walt and Eileen Petersen
