If the people cease to be good, America will cease to be great." --that is paraphrased from Tocqueville when he visited the United States from France in 1831, and was quoted by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. I just remembered the quote, Walt remembered the quote and who said it. (I'll do a Google search for the exact quote, name, and date.)
