Family is Everything…
Another winter day...
Been raining, now just
starting to snow...

...at 2:22 this afternoon.
The back yard looks a
little forlorn.

THE 6 BEST SMELLING INDOOR

PLANTS TO ADD TO YOUR HOME

1. JASMINE

Jasmine is a well-loved plant with a sweet scent that finds popularity in many perfumes and houses. Usually grown as an outdoor plant, this half-vine half-shrub can be grown as an indoor plant and lend your home a beautiful fragrance. The most popular varieties to choose from include the star, primrose, and Spanish jasmine.

 2. BEGONIAS

Begonias are a perennial plant with over 2,000 species. These indoor plants are well-known for their gentle fragrance and vivid-colored blooms.

 3. LAVENDER

Lavender is yet another mainstay of perfumes, with a tantalizing fragrance. It’s also very versatile, finding itself an ingredient in many dishes and cocktails. It’s a surprisingly hardy shrub with thickly growing flowers in colors of purple, blue, pink, or white with silvery-grey or grey-green leaves.

 4. SCENTED GERANIUMS

Scented geraniums are a cultivar of the geranium family that is generally grown for their fragrance and not their flowers. This indoor plant’s leaves are also air fresheners, not just flowers. They come in a variety of smells ranging from citrus to rose.

 5. SWEET BASIL

The infamous basil plant! Whether you’re a culinary master or gardening enthusiast, this nifty indoor plant is known for its fragrance both in cooking and indoors. What’s more, depending on the strain you pick, the leaves can be either deep purple or bright green. It’s easy to grow, and with a little effort, it can become a perennial and must-have herb addition to your home.

 6. GARDENIA

The ever-popular gardenia is an indoor plant with beautiful and fragrant white blossoms that find themselves in a tons of perfumes. The plant has been grown for almost 1000 years but has been proven a tricky plant. If you put in the effort, gardenias rewards you with a beautiful aroma and view.

Family is Everything…

Lunch Bunch was at                         The Original Pancake House 1674 W Traverse Way, Lehi 84043
Sharon gave a ride to
Linda H, Carol, and me.

We enjoy talking to each
so much, we can hardly
take time to order.
So many good choices,
it's hard to decide
what to order.

Nadine got this pretty
delectable dish, but...
...I don't remember
what it was.
We had 11 today:
Clockwise from bottom left:
Jennie, Linda H, Carol,
Katy, Vickie, Nadine,
Sharon, Tammy, Kathie,
Eileen, Sandi.

The enlarged photo
is better to see everyone,
but it doesn't fit in the
frame of the blog mode.

Eileen, Sandi
Jennie, Linda H.
Vickie was giving us a
Hollywood goodbye...
 ...while Carol and Linda are
trying to figure out the
billing system.
Then Katie joins Vickie for
an even more
dramatic farewell.
Sharon, Nadine,
Tammy, and Kathie
join them.
The Pancake House not
only has delicious food...
...it's beautifully decorated.
Linda, Eileen, Carol,
Kathie, Sharon, Sandi,
and Vickie are in one
last parting photo.

We always miss those who
can't come.

July 2013 while we were
in San Salvador El Salvador
serving in the temple there.

Back to today...
SATURDAY, JAN. 14, 2023
We were going to have
lunch at Maddox...
...a 1 1/2 hour drive
from here to Perry
(edge of Brigham City)...
...but to fit more into the
day instead of on the
road for 3 hours we
decided to eat at our new
Olive Garden here in
Saratoga Springs at 1:00.
Mom, Gary
Gary, Natalie, Steve,
Jenn, Brian, Mom.
We had an interesting waitress...
So nice to have an Olive
Garden in Saratoga Springs.
We had an hour or so till the
movie started at 3:10 so we
decided to go on over to
Fat Cats and do some arcade
motorcycle racing and
some axe throwing.
Not competitive at all...
 Ha...
Ha!
But all were good...
...winners and losers!

Axe throwing...
...gives me chills.
Then the matinee
"A Man Called Otto"
with Tom Hanks

From Wikipedia: "A Man Called Otto is a 2022 comedy-drama film directed by Marc Forster from a screenplay by David Magee. It is the second film adaptation of the 2012 novel A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman, and an American remake of the 2015 Swedish film of the same name written and directed by Hannes Holm. The film stars Tom Hanks in the title role, with Mariana TreviñoRachel Keller, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo.

A Man Called Otto began a limited theatrical release on December 30, 2022, before a wide release in the United States on January 13, 2023. The film received mixed reviews from critics..." Tom Hanks' real son is in the movie of the flash backs of when Otto was young.

He married Rita Wilson in 1988.

She is now age 66 (Oct 26,1956). They have two sons, Colin and Truman. Tom has two children from his first marriage: Chet, and a daughter. Photo of Mrs. Tom Hanks.

Here we are after the movie.
Most of us cried during
the end of the movie...
even the guys!
...followed by Festivas at
Steve & Natalie's at 7:00
A rare photo to have
the four brothers together.
Smiling...
We had a great time together.
Julie Beth was so sad she
got too sick to come.
And the desserts were ready to bring.
In game "Most Likely"
Gary got card for having most stuff
in his pockets...
Took him a while to get it
all back in his pockets...

Here's one with Julie Black...
Different photo...
It's been wonderful to have
Brian & Jennifer for 3 full days.
We thank them for coming
for this visit...
Brian & Jennifer,
we love you!
Come again soon.
They flew back to Nashville
Sunday morning.

I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.

At the end of this January 15th,

I pray you have had a

restful , peaceful, and spiritual

Sabbath Day...

I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.
He loves us just
as we are at this very moment.
He knows what our potential is.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."

***  *** *** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.  Because of the restored Temple Ordinances families can be sealed for eternity.

*** *** ***
Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
