On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.

Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen, their spouses, our 39 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 on the way, and posterity to come.

THIS WEEK

JUNE 20-26, 2022
MONDAY, JUNE 20, 2022 Family is Everything Sunrise: 5:56 a.m. Sunset: 9:02 p.m.
Every 90 days my podiatrist checks my diabetic feet.

Kenidi is the gal who took my blood pressure and updated my medical chart,
and trimmed my toenails.
Elli, the P.A., did a final trim on my toenails, checked my feet, and gave me medical instructions. She drives to Dr. Rogers' office in Saratoga Springs from Spanish Fork.
Dr. Rogers is just in this new Saratoga Springs Office on Mondays. It's at the crossroads of Redwood Road and Pioneer Crossing.
Then I drove over to the Willow Creek Urgent Care Clinic on the west side of Lehi.
It was just opened in 2019.

My regular doctor, Dr. David Kimball, is there. He saw me two weeks ago for this cough and prescribed a Z-pak of the antibiotic, Azithromycin which I took for
five days, June 7-11.

However since I'm still coughing a lot, I
just "walked in" as their sign says:
"Walk ins Welcome."
Jesse Ballard, a Nurse Practioner, saw me, who is one of their Urgent Care providers.
He listened to my lungs. Then he ordered a chest x-ray, which showed there is no infection and my lungs are clear.
He said: "The anti-biotic did "kill the bug," but with this virus, the cough can hang on for
6-8 weeks." His diagnosis:
Post viral bronchitis.
He prescribed Benzonatate 100 mg capsules
for the cough. He said they would have been using that back when "country doctors" like
Dr. Walt Petersen were practicing.

We're in for a hot week...

Heather Cannon was released as our
Ward Historian on May 29, and
I was sustained as the
Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward Historian.
She's been trying to bring me the
past records and orient me, but with my
coughing so much, we've waited till I
had confirmation that it isn't contagious.
Her predecessor in this calling had been
Bill Hartley, who was a professional historian.
This afternoon I went to the oral surgeon for
the one-year check on the implants
he did for my bridge last June.
Dr. Burton said everything looks great!~
After catching up on my blog,
I watched a favorite movie from 1984.**

Today is Kelly's birthday.
She joined our family in
December 2013 when she
married Daniel.

Kelly we loved having you
with us in San Salvador...
in
the summer of 2014.

girl coming in July.

Hope you are having a
wonderful birthday in Ohio!
Kelly, we loved seeing you at your

grandfther's home in Midway.
We are all looking forward to welcoming
your baby daughter
the end of July.

I got to have lunch with

my best friend from 8th and 9th grades
at Wendell Jr. High and High School.
Then her family moved to Ogden.
Ramona Jenson Farr

She is next to me in this photo
as my matron of honor.
My bride's maids L-R:
Janice, my sister;
Sonya, a college roommate;
Izabel Peizoto, a BYU
roommate from Brazil;
and Lucile, a good friend
from high school.

Ramona got here about 10:10
and we had a good talk,**
after which she drove us
to Churck-A-Rama in Lehi.

Such a great variety to
choose from for lunch...
...except I was sad that today
they didn't have corn bread.
Our friendship has lasted
for over 70 years...
We became best friends
in 8th grade, then when
she moved at the end of
9th grade, we stayed friends.
As Ramona left, she said:
"Take care of yourself. I don't know
if we will see each other again."
When she got home, she
emailed that we could
keep in touch via
phone calls
and emails.

My sweet Ministering Sister, came to visit
this afternoon, also.
Kathy is a jewel and always comes
with a peaceful feeling. It was a joy
to talk with her about her Mother's
life story she's been working on
for several years, and now is
ready to print.

Here is the special note

And I've been savoring
Kathy's homemade

She was born with red hair
like her Aunt Phyllis

Janie's birthday...
At about 3 months her hair came
out. When it grew back in,
it was blond.
Age 1 and one half she
got to go to Hawaii and
meet her Dad's Coast Guard
ship"Chataqua" come in.
Janie's birthday...
Ages 2 and 3 she lived
in Talihina, Oklahoma.

'Burley, Idaho.

movie "A Child is Waiting."

when she was born

Brittany is married to Michael Andam,
and they have two children.
Andrew is about 3, and Raya is 4 1/2 months.

In Relief Society I sat by Kathy Skousen who is my wonderful Ministering Sister. She gave a sweet closing prayer when our R.S president, Chelsea Smith called on her.

David and Julie, Anna,
Sam, and William came for dinner.
Josh was at a birthday dinner of a friend.
Such a great afternoon with them.

Riggy chose the after dinner games
of "Celebrity" and catch.
Julie, as moderator, said she
could tell some of our dinner
conversation had determined
choices for "Celebrity" --
like Tom Cruise, Maverick,
Goose (2), Penny Benjamin.
Some other choices were
Tiger Woods, Katy Perry,
DeVoe something, and
Pinocheo. There's one
I can't remember.

What a fun 3 1/2 hours with
Julie's brother and family.
It's nice they live just
25 minutes away.

I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.

At the end of this June 26h,
I pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence. He loves us just as we are at this very moment.

I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."
