Traces of Time . . . June 13-19, 2022

TRACES OF TIME . . .                   {Last week: Scroll to end and click "Older Posts" at bottom right.} On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.

Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen, their spouses, our 39 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 1 on the way, and posterity to come.

THIS WEEK
 JUNE 13-19,  2022
MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2022                            Family is Everything                               Sunrise: 5: a.m. Sunset:  8: p.m.
Daily Scripture: And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God. - Ruth 1:16
Daily Quote: As the Lord promises all his children, once a test is fully met, the blessings are then bestowed, whether in this life or the next. Hannah was likewise blessed once the commitment to her vow had been fully tested. - Linda M. Campbell
I had my eye injection today for macular degeneration. The exam showed that my eye has some improvement, so I get to go 12 weeks, instead of 10 weeks between injections.  Thanks, Gary, for driving me to Dr. Goff's office at 4400 So 700 East in Murray at the Rocky Mountain
Retina Consultants.

Family is Everything…
(I'm going to use lavender print now which was the color for our wedding. My favorite color still.
It is blue and red mixed together.)
Today is the remembrance of our
61st wedding anniversary.
June 14, 1961
The happiest day of our lives
on this earth and for any
other earth we may get to live on.
Eileen Marie Albertson becomes
Mrs. Walter Ray Petersen.
Our parents were always

a great support to us...

My Dad, Arnold G. Albertson

was age 48.

My Mom, Verna Huffaker Albertson

was age 41.

Walt's Dad, Ray O. Petersen

was age 53.

Walt's Mom, Jane Prescott Petersen

was age 50.

My maternal grandparents came, whom I called "Grampa 'n Grama Huffaker."
They were both age 70. Walt's maternal widowed grandmother, Maria (pronounced Mariah) Prescott, age 78.
We called her "Grama Rie."
After the wonderful wedding luncheon given by
Aunt Tess and Uncle Austin Julian at
their home at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden,
we got in our painted
"Just Married" studebaker
and headed back to Salt Lake City for a
2-day honeymoon there...
...before returning to Idaho for our Wedding Reception on Saturday evening at the Gooding L.D.S. Church on June 17.
With our parents...
Verna and Arnold Albertson,
Ray and Jane Petersen...

Wedding Line...
Janice, Sonja, Isabelle, Lucile, Ramona, us, Ted, Gene, Jimmy.
My favorite photo from our reception...
Our colors were lavender and white,
so we toasted with grape juice...
For time and all eternity . . .

"A Brilliant Night of
Stars and Ice"

It was my turn to choose
this month. It is 21 hours of audio.
I just started it a few days ago.
It is so fascinating, that I haven't
been able to stop listening.
I am almost finished.

When the cleaning gals come

Riggy came with us. He
suggested Denny's...
We all order breakfast...
It was fun to have Riggy come.

Daily Scripture: Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? - Malachi 2:10
Daily Quote: We believe in fathers. We believe that far from being superfluous, fathers are unique and irreplaceable. - D. Todd Christofferson

* *I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.
At the end of this June 19th,

I pray you have had a

restful , peaceful, and spiritual

Sabbath Day...

I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."
Daily Scripture: And blessed are all they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost. - 3 Nephi 12:6
Daily Quote: We have been promised the constant companionship of the third member of the Godhead and hence the privilege of receiving revelation for our own lives. - Sheri L. Dew
***  *** *** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.

Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
