Barbara Frith of Filer, Idaho | 1940 - 2021 | Obituary

April 16, 1940 - April 09, 2021

Barbara Mae Frith, age 80 of Filer, Idaho passed away unexpectedly, likely from a blood clot in her lungs, on April 9, 2021 after living a full and active life.  Barbara was born in Rigby, Idaho on April 16, 1940 to Niles William (Bill) and Ella Mae Lemmon Parker.  She started school at the age of 5 and graduated from Wendell High School in 1957. She followed that up with an educational degree from Idaho State University, while also taking continuing education credit from Boise State University and the University of Idaho.  Barbara married Laurence Frith in 1958 and they were blessed with three children.

Barbara shared her love for reading and knowledge with hundreds of children through 40 years of teaching, starting in Rigby and Pocatello, continuing to Filer, Harper, Oregon and returning to Filer.   She taught a combined grade of 3rd and 4th in Harper and 2nd, 5th and then junior high in Filer.  She always enjoyed seeing former students and teaching children of former students.  You couldn’t go anywhere in the area that someone wouldn’t come up to her and say “Mrs. Frith, I so enjoyed you as a teacher”.

Over the past 25 years, she remained active with bowling, pickle ball, a well-used gym membership and her true passion of golf, taking the senior circuit by storm. There wasn’t a ladies golf tournament in the area that she didn’t attend.   She was a member of Clear Lake Country Club and enjoyed multiple teaming partners, although Billie, her “sandy sister” was always good for a win.  She was an active member of the Magic Valley Republican Women, serving on the board.  She also was the coordinator for her Clear Lake Country Club ladies working at the Twin Falls County Fair ticket booths.  Barbara loved her family and friends, was a very gracious host and her generosity knew no ends.  She enjoyed traveling with family.

Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband Laurence in 2004.  She is survived by her three children Kelly Coonce (Larry Gardner), Lori Frith and Doug Frith (Marcy), five granddaughters, Heather Frith, Toni Coonce, Angela Parker (Aaron), Sarah Hemler (Adam), Megan Wallace (Scott), nine great grandkids and sisters Bette Jo Cline (Johnnie), Billie Mason (Ed) and Olive Anne Turpin (Dennis).

A Memorial service is scheduled for April 17, 2021, at 11 A.M. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls, ID.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Junior Golf Program at the club of your choice or to your local food pantry.

Those wishing to share memories and condolences may do so on her memorial page at www.magicvalleyfuneralhome.com

FAMILY IS EVERYTHING...
Ladies' Lunch: Today the plan was to go to Black Bear Diner.
Kathie picked me up and we went there. A gal came out and told us they were temporally closed because of a power outage.
Just then Tammy drove up, so we told her.
We decided to go to Chuck-A-Rama.
The power was out all the way...so no traffic lights were working.
Kathie skillfully wound her way thru the malls, and Voilla! We came out at Chuck-A-Rama. They were one of the first places that still had power.
Who knew we'd have such an adventure just getting to lunch today.
So it was just us three today. We still had a great time talking,
plus a delicious lunch.
Isn't there a scripture "When two or three are met..."
The rain had stopped by the time we were leaving.
Then it rained again throughout the day.
Those "♫♪ April showers bringing May flowers...♪♫"
Then I found these photos from Sep 23, 2020, when we were at Chuck-A-Rama another time.

"Singin' in the Rain" from 1952
It's always a delight to watch this classic!

FAMILY IS EVERYTHING...
We gathered to commemorate Walt's 87th birthday today.
Janie came from Rexburg; Gary from Pleasant Grove;
David from Draper. Julie hosted.
Steve came later, but I don't know who took his photo with me.
We looked thru his photos, talked, laughed, and cried.
What a guy!!

Another Sabbath Day...

*** *** *** I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE PLAN OF SALVATION AND THE ATONEMENT OF  JESUS CHRIST THAT MAKES THIS GREAT PLAN OPERATIONAL.

At the end of this April 18th,
I pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
I share these truths as my additional testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true.

Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
