Family is Everything...
I drove to Smith's this afternoon
to get a couple of my
prescriptions, and also
pick up some food.
I didn't have tp on my list,
but was surprised when I
rounded the corner and the
shelves for tp were empty.
 FHE was at
 Bryant and Kathie Hatch's home
Along with veggies and dip, Kathie
had made he best lemon cake I've
ever tasted. I asked her for the recipe.
We heard James Cox teach on his DVD
from the book he's written:
"Becoming Spiritually Centered...

It was warm and cozy on this
chilly evening to have a nice
fire glowing in the fireplace.
The 11 able to be there tonight were:
Front: Eileen, Allen, Jennie, Linda,
and Leslie.
Standing: Nadine, Dean, Kathie,
Bryant, and Nelson.
Andrew was taking the photo.
He is in the photo above.

Institute
Saints
Chapters 36
Camie Williams was the teacher.
Added by Eileen: ...not only a full moon, but it was
called a "Super Worm Moon," which was
explained in the news that it's when the
ground is thawing so the worms come
out which is inviting for the robins
to come back...
Map of Nauvoo...
Institute
 After explaining that "Nauvoo" means
"the beautiful and place of rest,"
Sister Williams asked us where our
"place of peace and rest was."
 Our teacher's husband,
Troy Williams, sang a hymn that
brings peace and rest to Camie's soul:
"Be Still My Soul"
"Be still and know that I am God..."
 Institute
  Camie read about Joseph Smith
giving his red hankerchief to
Wilford Woodruff to take to heal
two young girls who were sick.
Even though they were not members
of the Church, the Prophet told
Brother Woodruff that the Priesthood
could heal these two girls.
Camie had a red "hankerchief"

for each one of us to take and
write a name on it of a person
we could help now.

Family is Everything...
Week of the United States
 National Amateur
DanceSport Championships
March 11-14, 2020
Mariott Center -
Provo, Utah
Julie and Maddie were at these
 Championship competitions all day.
Jacee was there most of the day.
Maddie and Ethan were ready to compete.
Maddie and Ethan...
this is probably the two step or swing...

Maddie and Ethan placed 3rd in the
High School section of the Waltz out
of 87 couples who competed.
And they are just 7th graders!
Congratulations you two.
(You can dance "up" above your age
group, but not in a section lower
than your age.)
Wednesday is
Movie Night with Gary.
Tonight we watched
"Murder on the Orient Express"
The older one from  1974...
What a great murder mystery this is...
and the cast is out of this world!
The cast includes...
Albert Finney, Lauren Bacall,
Ingred Bergman (who won an
academy award as best supporting
actress in this role), Martin Balsam,
Jacqueline Basset, Sean Connery,
Vandessa Redgrave, Anthony Perkins,
John Gielgold, Jean-Pierre Cassel,
Wendy Hiller, Richard Widmark,
Rachel Roberts, and Michael York.
Well, I guess you would need to be
60 and over to remember these
famous movie stars we knew and loved
to see in the movies of our day.
Agatha Christie wrote this book about
the kidnapping of the Lindberg
baby in the 1930s...but changed
the names and some of the
circumstances.
Info from Wikipedia:
"On March 1, 1932, Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr.
20-month-old son of aviator Charles Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, was abducted from the crib in the upper floor of his home in Highfields in East AmwellNew JerseyUnited States.[2]
On May 12, the child's corpse[3] was discovered by
a truck driver by the side of a nearby road..."
Info from Wikipedia:
"Murder on the Orient Express is a detective novel by English writer Agatha Christie featuring the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. It was first published in the United Kingdom by the Collins Crime Club on 1 January 1934.

We always love being with Gary...

Family is Everything...
Marci came to help Walt
start his day.

It was a sunny, warm day but forecast
for light storms to come. We could
see the tops of he mountains today.
Karen came this afternoon
to check Walt's blood pressure,
his heart, and lungs...
everything is pretty good.
I forgot to take a photo...
here's from last week.
Tonight was the Saratoga Springs

Marriott Center in
Provo.
It was scheduled to go thru
Friday and Saturday,

but those last two days
were cancelled because of
the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Way to go BYU Youth Ballroom and
Latin Teams!
FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020
Family is Everything...
Happy Friday the 13th...
We had a great Serendipity today...
Luke Bunn, Walt's nephew's son
called us to say that he and Becca were
in Utah for the wedding of her past BYU roommate
and they wanted to come see us after the
wedding at the Draper Temple, and before
the wedding dinner at 6:00.
Walt and I were always so impressed
with the letters shared during his
mission in...it was on a lot of islands
over by Cambodia...or something like that...
far away with a really hard language.
Luke is the son of Mitch and Karen Bunn,
...Mitch is the son of Walt's sister, Phyllis.
Becca is the daughter of Brad Turner,
who grew up in Burley, the son of
Lorna and __________ (forgotten her
grandfather's name) and her
other grandparents are Ray and Kathy
Muir in Burley.
Both well-known
Burley couples whom we all love.
Luke and Becca are such a darling couple!
David drove us to their wedding last
June 1 in the Twin Falls Temple.
Luke has recently finished all his
requirements as an apprentice
electrician and is preparing to take
the state test in Meridian to become a
full-fledged electrician. They plan to
live in Wendell. His work takes him
throughout the Magic Valley.
He is a counselor in the Wendell
Ward's Elders Quorum.
What a bright future in store for them.
Maddie...
Jackson...
...and Rigdon
helped unload things from
Costco to get through the
"hunkering down time at home"
because of the global
Coronavirus Pandemic.

Family is Everything...
It sprinkled a little bit...
Marci came to help
Walt start his day.
Walt can't figure out how to sit
down in the right spot on a
chair anymore...we all help
guide him so he doesn't
sit on the floor.
 See you next week, Marci.
Then it started to clear up...
 David and Julie and family
brought us some treats tonight.
Josh, Julie, Sam, Will...
 Walt, Eileen, David...
 Thanks, Draper Petersen family for
coming to be with us...
Anna is staying at her dorm
at BYU for a while longer...
David explained: "fomo..."

Family is Everything...
 Home Church
We had a sweet administering of the sacrament in our home
here today with John and Julie, Jacee, Jackson, Maddie, and Rigdon.  Jackson blessed the emblems of the sacrament and John passed them.

Our home Sunday School time from the "Come, Follow Me," focused on how we each receive revelation. Julie had each one share when they felt they had received revelation. John did a couple of years ago when he accepted being the Building Manager of a very successful Hamlet Homes here in Utah.

Julie did when she moved to Boise, where she met John--even tho
he was raised in Declo. Then each move they've had during their marriage has been through personal revelation.

My most significant personal revelation was when--after being away from home of Wendell, Idaho--for almost three years: one year (June '57 to June '58) business college in SLC (Stevens' Heneger), then working one year (June '58-Aug '59), then a year (Aug '59-June '60)  at BYU, "decided" {which I came to learn was actually inspiration from Heavenly Father through the Holy Ghost} to go home to work for the summer, and Walt had "decided" to go home and work with his carpenter father for the summer, even tho he could have kept working at his part-time research work after his first year of medical school. In September he went back to St. Louis to continue his M.D. quest...and the rest has been our history together.

The kids weren't sure what "revelation" they'd had about their lives.

John asked us to memorize a scripture this week: James 1:5-6.
He explained what "abraideth" meant. Simply for them: "God doesn't
ever think there is a dumb question you ask Him."

He explained that the main thing he wants them to know is that
they can always ask Heavenly Father about anything. And that
he, as their Dad, cannot give them his testimony, but they need
to gain their own testimony.

We each can be inspired and receive personal revelation for our specific needs. The only way we can know something is true--like The Church, is to receive our own personal revelation about it.

Julie and John also talked to their kids about what they understood about the Covid19 virus and what they thought a "pandemic" meant. They reassured them that they were both not panicked about it, that we have enough food and other things, and that we would all be okay. They stressed that when their friends come over they need to wash their hands because Grampa 'n Grama (us) are in the "high risk" group who can have serious consequences--like die--from this Coronavirus.
I didn't take a photo during our home church time today,

but here's a photo I love of the family from
last Easter.
Julie made some delicious
homemade noodles for
chicken soup for dinner.
Yummm.......
 We enjoy being together...
so we're okay hunkered
down at home.

We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ
that makes this Great Plan operational.
Here is a message from our
Prophet, President Nelson

At the end of this March 15th,
we pray you have had a restful,
 peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
We share these truths as our testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.  He is in charge!

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.

President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world. He has given a message on March 14, 2020, about the Covid19 situation.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.

I am thankful for a husband who holds and honors the Priesthood of God. He has been the patriarch of our home in righteousness. I honor and love him with all my heart. We are eternal sweethearts, sealed as husband and wife in the temple of God by Priesthood Authority for time and for all eternity.

Of these truths we testify in the
Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
