Family is Everything...
Karen came to check on
Walt this afternoon.
His blood pressure and heart are good,
but he is really weak and has slept
a lot today.
Family Home Evening was
cancelled tonight because it
snowed all day and was still snowing
this evening.

Family is Everything...
Still lots of snow...
it snowed all day yesterday.
Walt likes to watch the
BYU Sports Nation...
each morning at 10:00.

Family is Everything...
I had our Ladies' Lunch today.
Barbara Lindeman picked me
up, along with Judy and Linda.
We went to La Fountain, a
great Mexican Restaurant by
Lowes and Costco and Denny's
in Lehi.
The gals who were able to come today
are: Left: Tammy, Judy, Linda, Sharon.
Right: Kaye, Vickie, Barbara, and Eileen.
The gals who were able to come today
from the other direction are:
Left: Eileen, Barbara, Vickie, Kaye.
Right: Sharon, Linda, Judy, and Tammy.

The waiter took this one with the
guy who wanted to be a
photo bomber.
They have the second-best pina coladas
I've ever had. The best one was in
Cancun...I think at Tony Roma's.
...non-alcoholic, of course.
The enchiladas with rice and beans
were delicious. I took half of this
home for Walt's lunch.

 Linda's combination plate was
very colorful...and yummy, she said.
We always enjoy being together.

When I ordered, I asked the waiter to please
bring me a box because I was going to
share half with my husband.
So when my order came, he said he
had them put on two enchiladas
instead of the one.
How thoughtful of him.
Walt agreed, they have delicious Mexican
food at "La Fountain" in Lehi.
Movie Night with Gary
The Man Who Knew Too Much is a 1956 American suspense thriller film directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock, starring James Stewart and Doris Day. The film is Hitchcock's second film using this title following his own 1934 film of the same name featuring a significantly different plot and script.
In the book-length interview Hitchcock/Truffaut (1967), in response to fellow filmmaker François Truffaut's assertion that aspects of the remake were by far superior, Hitchcock replied "Let's say the first version is the work of a talented amateur and the second was made by a professional."[3][4]
The film won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)", sung by Doris Day. It premiered at the 1956 Cannes Film Festival on April 29.[5]
 Gary, we love our Wednesday
movie nights with you!

Next week, Feb. 12, we are going to watch "Love Story" for our
"romance" theme for this month. It is the 50th anniversary since
this movie came out in 1970.

Family is Everything...
I had my four-month dental
cleaning today.
The normal time is every 6 months,
but because I have periodontal gum
disease, I have to do it more often.
There is no cure, but it can be
stopped from progressing
further by cleaning 3x a year
instead of just 2x.
Steve drove me to the dentist
today. Thank you!
Karen came to check on
Walt this afternoon.

Family is Everything...

We didn't realize when Gary drove us to see Dale
at the Utah Valley Hospital on
Thursday, Jan. 23--after his hip surgery of Jan. 19
because of a fall on Sat., Jan 18,
 that this would be the
last time we'd get to go
see him before he was discharged
today, Friday, February 7th.
We're thankful that he gets to go
home, but sad we weren't able
to go see him again.
And we're thankful that Connie's
grandson, Matthew--Lisa's son,
was able to help drive them from
Orem, Utah to Twin Falls, Idaho.
Great family support!
We pray for Dale's continued great
physical therapy there in Twin so he
can heal completely soon.
Marci came to help
Walt start his day.
Her regular days are Tuesday,
Thursday, and Saturday, but
her car stopped working
yesterday so she couldn't
come until today.

Family is Everything... and so are  friends
We had some wonderful
friends visit today.
Ross and Karen Taylor,
and their daughter Leslie.
We always love being with them.

UVU Dancesport Championships
are this weekend in Orem.
We weren't able to go, so we
are sharing Julie's photos.
Maddie and Ethan took medals
in the Foxtrot division.
There were excited to make the finals
with so many dancing.
Maddie's BYU Youth Pre-teen Ballroom
Team took 1st in Ballroom in their
age group, and 2nd in the Latin
competition.
Way to go, Maddie and team!
First in Ballroom out of many youth
teams in this age division.
Julie coached this team last year and
is very proud of them and their
coach, Hannah, this year.
Second in Latin out of many teams...
Maddie has great support
from her Mom and Dad,
Julie and John.

Family is Everything...
Thanks, Gary, for coming to
stay with Dad while I went
to the Saratoga Springs
Stake Women's Conference.
Linda picked me up to go to
the Saratoga Springs
Stake Women's Conference.
Thanks, Linda.
It was nice to sit by friends
from our Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward,
Jennie and Monica, in addition to Linda.
Saratoga Stake
Women's Conference
 The speakers were:
Kerry Hardy "We Choose"
Kim Beecher "Stand Still"
about Mindfulness, and
Brad Wilcox: "The Savior's Atonement"
which included a profound definition
of "Grace."
Brother Wilcox is such a great speaker.
I've heard him at BYU Education Week
before. Our Stake Relief Society President
was in high school with Brad Wilcox,
so she was able to have him come to
this stake Women's Conference.

Here are four sisters from our
Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward...
Cynthia, Amelene, Chelsea, and Linda.
Amelene had me get in a photo
with them. Chelsea is anxious for
baby number 4 to arrive next month.

We sisters loved learning together today.
Front, L-R: Judy's friend, Linda, Judy,
Judy's friend, and Eileen.
Back, L-R: Cynthia, a friend, Amelene,
and Heather.

The enlarged photo will show the faces better.
I wish I could figure out how to get these
enlarged photos to show the entire picture.

Steve with Walt when he dropped in.
Gary spent the evening with
Walt and me. We were going to go
to McKell's play, but Walt wasn't up
to going. He will not be able to go to
any more activities away from
home now. It is too hard on him
both mentally and physically.
Gary had seen McKell's play at the
Orem Hale Center Theater earlier...
"The Man With the Pointed Toes."
She got very excellent reviews from
the critics. She is loving putting her
UVU theater major to work and
getting paid for it now!
She was the tutor for the
uneducated cowboy.

UVU Dancesport ballroom
competitions concluded tonight.
Maddie and Ethan did really well
dancing together and got a ribbon.
Janie sent us these photos of
Ashley and Michael dancing at
the UVU Dancesport Ballroom
competition this weekend.
Ashley (in pink) and Hudson,
Michael and Natasha (in red)
danced in the same number:
the Rumba
Ashley and Hudson got 5th place in Rumba
Michael and Natasha got 6th in Rumba

Michael and Natasha
Janie and Shawn are over the
Idaho Ballroom Academy which
has over 400 dancers.
Janie and Shawn, Ashley,
Michael and Hudson came
to see us after their competition
ended before they drove back
to Rexburg.
Here's with Hudson in the photo...
We are always nervous when our kids
and grandkids are driving back so late.
We are praying for their safe return home.

BYU won their basketball game tonight

Way to go Cougars.

Family is Everything...
We didn't go to Church today.
We read 2 Nephi 6-10 for the
Come, Follow Me week of
February 10-16.
"O How Great the Plan
of Our God."
Then we had a delicious
Sunday dinner of
steak and baked potatoes.
Thanks, John.

First time since we've been here
that we haven't gotten a photo of
us together on Sunday.
How about our wedding photo...

We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ
that makes this Great Plan operational.
At the end of this February 9th,
we pray you have had a restful ,
peaceful, and spiritual Sabbath Day...
We share these truths as our testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.

I am thankful for a husband who holds and honors the Priesthood of God. He has been the patriarch of our home in righteousness. I honor and love him with all my heart. We are eternal sweethearts, sealed as husband and wife in the temple of God by Priesthood Authority for time and for all eternity.

Of these truths we testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
