Family is Everything…
I had an appointment with my
Internist, Dr. Wallin. He is getting
the Insulin regulated that I need
to take.
His goal is for my blood sugar to
be under 130 in the morning,
and 180 in the evening.
He has me on 35 units in the a.m.
and 15 units at bedtime.
Some insulins are $500-$800
a month, but the
NPH Novolin is still
just $24.88 at WalMart.
I am also on Metformin.

From the Mountain Point Medical Center
we drove over to McDonald's and
had breakfast.
The rest of the day was spent catching up on on my blog and we also had a long nap in recuperating from our weekend in Idaho. It was great to be there and to see so many friends. It also tuckered us out.

Family is Everything…
  Marci here...helping Walt
start his Tuesday.
We had pancakes 'n eggs for breakfast.
First day of school for Jaccee...
a Junior at Westlake High School.
Have a great year, Jacee.
Class of 2021
After-school treats today: Cupcakes
Jackson is a 9th grader...
he plays the baritone in the
Thunder Marching Band...
they played for the opening football
game back on August 16th.
We can see the new
Lake Mountain Middle School
from our kitchen window.
This is where Jackson was to
start 9th grade and
Maddie 7th grade today.

However, since it won't be ready to
receive students for three weeks,
(Septembe 10)
Maddie and Jackson will be
doing their classes online
till then.

Here's a better view of the
new school, just across
Redwood Road.
re
On the other side of this
tree is the new
Saratoga Springs Temple site.
It's on higher ground
above the new school building.
Pepper--the new kitten, and
Max--their dog of over five years,
went to get some
outside time.
This was a sign from the
Frederickson's Candy Shoppe in
Twin Falls, Idaho, that was in the
Times News' story about the
founding of this store in 1950
by the Fredericksons.
Mrs. Frederickson,
age 90, has just died.
Among the papers for the starting
of school was this one.

Julie and John's tradition is to
have cupcakes the first day of
school for neighbors and friends
who want to come over for an
"after-school" treat.
 Good friends and neighbors who
have been gone a few years on
an overseas assignment, have
now moved back.
Riggy will be going to pre-school.
He won't be 5 until September.
Happy new school year!

Family is Everything...
Michael Fisher -- our grandson --
is starting his Junior Year at
Madison High School
in Rexburg, Idaho.
We hope you have a great
year, Michael!
Class of 2021
We went to the club house
this afternoon...
  ...and bicycled for 20 minutes.
Walt thought this was a lodge for
the golf course...
...but it really is a single-dwelling
  ...home at Wilshire Bay.
It looks like it's about done.
It's along our drive to the club house.

Walt wanted to drive over to the
temple site to see what is
happening. The sun was in
our eyes, but we didn't see
any big equipment digging
or anything.
   Karen came to check on
Walt's health.

We are blessed to have such a
great Utah Home and Hospice
Registered Nurse coming
to help Walt.

Family is Everything...
Marci helped start our day...
 We give her some chocolate
each time she comes.
 Leslie came as my
ministering teacher.
She moved here a few years ago
from California. She helps brighten
our day.
We went to the club house...
 ...and bicycled.
We appreciate the great exercise
equipment and an air-conditioned
place to use it.
We have a special key to get in.
The HOA (Home Owners'
Association) fee includes
the use of these facilities.

 This clubhouse is right on
the shore of Utah Lake.

Family is Everthing…
On our way to the clubhouse today
we drove around that big new home.
at Wilshire Bay. The other day we
were fascinated with the wiring being
put in for under the driveway and
sidewalks. They are evidently to
heat up and melt the winter snow.
Wouldn't it be a blessing if everyone
could have that amenity!

We bicycled for twenty minutes again.
  We watched some Fred Astaire
and Ginger Rogers old movies tonight...
parts of "Top Hat" and "Swing Time."
SATURDAY, AUGUST 24, 2019
Family is Everything…
We slept in later than usual, then
after a late breakfast, we were so
tired still, we had a nap. I slept about
an hour, but Walt slept four hours.
He's going to ask his Utah Home
Health and Hospice physician at
the appointment with him next
Wednesday which medicine is
making him so sleepy.
Jackson keeps the front lawn mowed,
and Maddie mows the back lawn.
With September about here, the
days of mowing the lawn are
nearing an end.
I've got to look up to see which day
in September is the
First Day of Fall...
it's usually on Sept 20, 21, or 22.
Walt did some computer work after
he woke up.
We watched a TCM movie about
the life of Al Capone.

Family is Everything…
We attended our two-hour block
for Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward
from noon to two o'clock.
The topic for all three speakers
in Sacrament Meeting was
"Personal Revelation."
 We gathered for Sunday Dinner.
  Thanks, John, for another delicious
roast beef dinner.
 After the Sunday afternoon naps,
it was "Sundae Sunday" with
family and extended family...
of the 26 living here in Utah...
we had  20 come...
  One question asked was
"What is something your parents
just don't get?"
And another: "What was the least
favorite of the rules you had growing
up that you had?"
 The answers were interesting...
 Everyone had a chance
to respond.
 We had a good time.
 We love being together.
 Carter asked Grampa
how much he studied Spanish
before he went to his
Uruguay-Paraguay Mission.
Grampa told Cartet that he had
had two years of Spanish in
high school. When he got to
his mission, he got up 30 minutes
before his companion every morning
to study Spanish--especially the
grammar of it.
Then he added this advice about
being a missionary: "No rule of
your mission is unimportant."
Carter is to report to the
Brazil MTC on Oct. 30,
to begin his
Brazil Salvador South Mission.

 *** *** ***
We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ
that makes this Great Plan operational.

At the end of this August 25th,
we pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...

We share these truths as our testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.
*** *** ***
Of these truths we testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
