THIS WEEK- April 1-7, 2019

Family is Everything…
Walt woke up at 1:00 a.m. with that pain in
his left leg just above the ankle like he had
a month ago--Feb. 27.
He took a percacet, then another
percacet at 1:30, but it didn't help much.
By 5:30 a.m. he said he couldn't take it
anymore and needed to go to the
emergency room again.
We just had Julie help me get him to the car,
then I drove him over. When we pulled up to
the E.R. about 6:30, the pain had eased up and
he thought he would be okay. We just stayed
in the car to see if it was really stopped.
It wasn't.
He entered the E.R. a little before
seven o'clock...about sunrise.

Today
 Meanwhile...in Boise, Idaho...
Our grandson, Kimble Petersen--
Steve and Natalie's oldest son,
was inducted into the Coast Guard today.
The regional office is in Boise.
Here is what Natalie shared on face book:
Kimble Ray Petersen
April 1, 2019
Boise, Idaho

"It’s official! Active duty.
We left him behind in Boise to fly/bus
 to Cape May, NJ tomorrow.
So proud of him and
I miss him already.
He’s going to do great things!"

Here's Kimble with the other two recruits.
Close up of Kimble, with Natalie, Carter, Kelsey, and Steve.
Kimble, we pray for your success,
safety, and happiness in the
United States Coast Guard.
It's not easy for your Mom...
and your Dad to tell you "Good-bye."
History of the Coast Guard from Wikepedia
"The history of the United States Coast Guard goes back to the United States Revenue Cutter Service, which was founded on 4 August 1790 as part of the Department of the Treasury. The Revenue Cutter Service and the United States Life-Saving Service were merged to become the Coast Guard per 14 U.S.C. § 1 which states: "The Coast Guard as established January 28, 1915, shall be a military service and a branch of the armed forces of the United States at all times." In 1939, the United States Lighthouse Service was merged into the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard itself was moved to the Department of Transportation in 1967, and on 25 February 2003 it became part of the Department of Homeland Security. However, under 14 U.S.C. § 3 as amended by section 211 of the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Act of 2006, upon the declaration of war and when Congress so directs in the declaration, or when the President directs, the Coast Guard operates as a service in the Department of the Navy."
Here's some younger photos of Kimble
I found in a Family Album the kids
made for us in 1999, 2000, 2001
(have to unload them from my camera phone
--I took photos from the album)

Family is Everything…
Marci helped Walt start his day.
He slept better last night,
but he still slept most of today.
He's had some pain, but not a lot.
He did not take any pain pills today.

I didn't take photos today....so
here's some down memory lane....

Family is Everything...

Spring Break time for our grandkids...
Gary came over with Isaac and played an
hour of Dungeons and Dragons,

then they went swimming.
Isaac perfected his diving skills
off the diving board.
The DandD'ers and the swimmers
had ice cream cones for a treat
at the end of this fun Spring-break day.
Isaac came to find himself in the
WEPR family reunion photo from
last July.

 Looking out the kitchen window...
Oh, first, what's on the window sill?
Could it be the famed rooster?
  Gary, thank you for

The hour we spend in sacrament meeting is the most sacred hour in our week. Beloved friends, as we unite across the globe each week in what we hope is an increasingly sacred acknowledgement of Christ’s majestic atoning gift to all humankind, may we bring to the sacramental altar “more tears for his sorrow [and] more pain at his grief.”

Family is Everything…
 General Conference continues...

unday Morning Session:
"When tragedies overtake us,
when life hurts so much that we can't breathe,
when we've taken a beating like the man
on the road to Jericho and been left for dead,
Jesus comes along and He pours oil into
our wounds, He lifts us tenderly up,
He takes us to an inn, He looks after us."
Sharon Eubank

We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ
that makes this Great Plan operational.

At the end of this April 7th,
we pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
In addition to the powerful testimonies
we have heard this day from
our Prophet and President of
The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints,
his two counselors,
the Twelve Apostles,
 the Seventies
and Auxiliary Leaders...
We share these truths as our testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.
*** *** ***
Of these truths we testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
