How time flies!
We went on a walk with
Julie, Rigdon, and Max this morning.
Tonight Walt said: "My legs have
been worse today. I don't think I
should have gone on that walk."
So we may not go on walks
again for a while.
I had to go to the dentist this afternoon.
Tonight we watched
"Singin' in the Rain"
"Singin' in the Rain is a 1952 American musical-romantic comedy film directed and choreographed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen, starring Kelly, Donald O'Connor, and Debbie Reynolds. It offers a lighthearted depiction of Hollywood in the late 1920s, with the three stars portraying performers caught up in the transition from silent films to "talkies".
The film was only a modest hit when first released. Donald O'Connor won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, and Betty Comden and Adolph Green won the Writers Guild of America Award for their screenplay, while Jean Hagen was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. However, it has since been accorded legendary status by contemporary critics, and is frequently regarded as the best film musical ever made, and the best film ever made in the "Freed Unit" at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It topped the AFI's Greatest Movie Musicals list and is ranked as the fifth-greatest American motion picture of all time in its updated list of the greatest American films in 2007. In 1989, the United States Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the National Film Registry. In 2005 the British Film Institute included it in their list of the 50 films you should see by the age of 14. In Sight & Sound magazine's 2017 list of the 50 greatest films of all time, Singin' in the Rain placed 20th."

FIRST DAY OF SPRING 2019:
THE SPRING EQUINOX
CELEBRATE THE VERNAL EQUINOX
AND THE START OF SPRING!
CELEBRATE THE VERNAL EQUINOX
AND THE START OF SPRING!
AND THE START OF SPRING!
February 7, 2019
A FULL MOON ON THE EQUINOX
For the first time in nearly 40 years, the spring equinox will occur on the same day as March’s Full Worm Moon. The last time that these two events landed on the same date was on March 20, 1981, though they did come close again in March 2000, separated by a span of only four hours.
But that’s not all: March’s full Moon will also be a supermoon, meaning that it will be slightly larger and brighter than most of the other full Moons this year.
WHAT DOES THE EQUINOX MEAN?
The word equinox comes from the Latin words for “equal night”—aequus (equal) and nox (night).
On the equinox, the length of day and night is nearly equal in all parts of the world.
With the equinox, enjoy the increasing sunlight hours, with earlier dawns and later sunsets. See your personalized Sun rise and set calculator.
Image: On the equinox, Earth’s two hemispheres are receiving the Sun’s rays about equally.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE MARCH EQUINOX?
On the March Equinox, the Sun crosses the celestial equator from south to north. It’s called the “celestial equator” because it’s an imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator.
If you were standing on the equator, the Sun would pass directly overhead on its way north.
Equinoxes are the only two times a year that Sun only rises due east and sets due west for all of us on Earth!
While the Sun passes overhead, the tilt of the Earth is zero relative to the Sun, which means that Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun. (Note, however, that the Earth never orbits upright, but is always tilted on its axis by about 23.5 degrees.)
After the Spring equinox, the Norther Hemisphere tilts toward the Sun, which is why we start to get longer, sunnier days

Crocuses are a sure sign of spring!
SPRING EQUINOX FAQS
Q: IS THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING ALWAYS MARCH 20?
A: No, it’s not always March 20. And your answer also depends on your definition of the “first day of spring.” Both are accurate; they’re just from different perspectives. We’ll explain …
Astronomically speaking, the first day of spring is marked by the spring equinox, which falls on March 19, 20, or 21 every year. The equinox happens at the same moment worldwide, though our clock times reflect a different time zone. And, as mentioned above, this date only signals spring’s beginning in the Northern Hemisphere; it announces fall’s arrival in the Southern Hemisphere.
Interestingly, due to time zone differences, there isn’t a March 21 equinox in mainland U.S. during the entire 21st century! Plus, we won’t see a March 21 in the world again until 2101.
This first day of Spring
was a great day for us.
We had three highlights today:.
Highlight 1:
We were able to spend two hours with
my Uncle Don Huffaker - my Mom's youngest brother,
his darling wife, Marcele,
and their talented daughter Heather O. Huffaker,
wife of Patrick.
Heather had taken about 100 photos at my
Mom's 90th birthday party at their home
back on January 14, 2010,
which she downloaded on a thumb drive
for us today.
And she also had photos
from my Mom's funeral.
My Uncle Don is 90 and stillgoing strong. Yesterday
he and Marcele chopped
and stacked fire wood.
Here he is talking with Janice
and the others.
Gary drove us to their home
Heather made that life-like doll
that Marcele is holding. It comes
in a kit. Heather took three weeks
to paint the features on it.
Don said she has about 1000 hours
in to finishing it.

I didn't do too well on this
selfie of Heather and me.
We did get a good group photo before we left.
Heather took a photo so I
could be in it.
We love the home they have lived
in for 40 years.
They have beautiful front and back yards.
We loved our visit with
Don and Marcele, Heather and Patrick
It was a great Huffaker gathering!

Walt's brother,
Dale and Connie drove to Utah today
from Twin Falls, Idaho,
to see a play that Nate and Christi's son
Joshua is in tonight: Lion King Jr.
in Bountiful for his Middle School.
They drove on down
to Sugar House to have lunch with
us. We always love being with them!
Connie texted me the photo of us all
standing together.
I don't know how to get it from
my cell phone to my computer. Help.

Now, this is a nutritious breakfast.
I love you, Walter Ray Petersen!

NCAA Tourney - First Round
March Madness today: Villanova avoids first-round upset; Florida holds on to win
while Kentucky and Gonzaga roll
We ended in a deadlock.
John grilled everyone steak for supper.
Savory!
When we were "March Maddnessed" out,
we watched some BYU Volleyball.
BYU won.
Better than their basketball team this year.
I may have watched the last episode of
"The Crown" Series 2, after Walt went to bed.
I don't know if I want to watch Series 3
with all new actors. I thought the actors
in Series 1 and 2 of "The Crown" were
perfect portrayals of Queen Elizabeth,
Prince Phillip, etc.
Don't think I want to see different ones.

Happy Friday...
Walt went to his new orthopedic surgeon
to hopefully get gel injections in his knees
First he had knee x-rays taken.
He is impressed with all the
facilities at this new
Mountain Point Medical Center
facilities at this new
Mountain Point Medical Center
Walt is hoping to get a new type
of injection....it's called a
gel injection.
of injection....it's called a
gel injection.
His knees have been bone on bone,
for many years--no cartilage left.
Dr. Hoffman said there is a lot
of fluid in there.
He thought the gel injections would help.
So he did the first injection in the right knee.
Then next week Walt gets another injection
in the right knee, and a first injection
in the left knee.
This will be followed by injections
over two more weeks.
Walt is to wait a week giving the
gel time to be infused into the knee.
Then a 10-20 minute ride 5x a week
on a stationery bike will help keep
the quads strong enough to help
the knees stay stronger and
not buckle which could cause
Walt to fall.
We are hoping for a good outcome.
We got back home just after
Julie had left to take
Jacee and her partner, Christian,
to the Gem State Classic
Idaho Ballroom Championships
in Idaho Falls that Janie and Shawn
have put on for the past __ years.
Here's something we shared back in the summer of 2017:
"Here's a shout out for the great work our daughter and her husband do with the Idaho Ballroom Academy that they started in 1998. Since Blackpool (the Olympics of the Ballroom World) has changed their date to a week earlier that is the same week of the Madison High School graduation, the Fishers are now taking their IBA dancers to perform in Europe. They--dancers, staff, and directors--have worked very hard for this and we know they will be blessed for sharing their dancing skills and talents.
We wish them well on this initial tour that begins [summer sometime of 2017]. We are praying for their safety.
. The last we knew, 56 dancers were going along with some of the parents and siblings. We think the total group is between 105 and 110.
Here's a little about Shawn and Janie Fisher
Owners and Directors of the Idaho Ballroom Academy
...I found this on the Idaho Ballroom Academy website...
"They both graduated from BYU a long time ago in a valley four hours away [from Rexburg]. Shawn was a principle dancer for the BYU Ballroom Company (ranked 3rd individually in the U.S. and a team bronze at worlds) and Janie was a clogger with the International Folk Dancers. She converted to ballroom after marriage, a wise choice since the foxtrot is much less taxing than clogging for a person of her age. Together they have served as the National Dance Directors for the National League of Junior Cotillions. Shawn is the Dance Area Coordinator at BYU-Idaho and Janie is adjunct faculty and oversees the student teacher program. Shawn has served as the Sr. Vice President of USA Dance and the editor of American Dancer Magazine. They are the parents of 7 delightful children, all who dance whether they wanted to or not! (They'll thank us later.)"

Heavenly Father wants us to be
happy in this life and wants us
to return to Him.
His beloved son, Jesus Christ
also loves us and invites us to
follow Him. He is the Way,
the Truth, and the Light.
Many of the talks focused
