Looking for photo of Isaac...
We're out and about again...

We're blessed to park close with our infirmities
in getting around...
Physical therapy is helping Walt a lot.
Beautiful flowers came from the Fishers, Mechams, Fishers, Andersons, and Weimers! Thank you. It will be perfect for our
Thanksgiving dinner table centerpiece.

Eggs for breakfast...
Jackson helped carry in our
groceries for Thanksgiving dinner.
 So did Maddie.
Love these darling grandkids
with whom we now live.
Maddie made a batch of chocolate
chip cookies. Julie made sugar cookies.
Rigdon helped roll out the last batch.

Day 45 since Walt fell and broke left hip.
Day 22 since Walt home from rehab center.
Family is Everything…
Happy Birthday, Ashley, "18" today...
...they're ready to head to Idaho
for Thanksgiving time with
John's family--Brent and Vicki Peterson,
most of his six sisters and two brothers,
and their families.
 Rigdon is in his seat...
A little crazy before the 3 1/2 hour drive.
"Inaugral drive" in their new van...
which they called the "Bat Van"
their other one was about to give out.
 ...see you Sunday.
 Max is always sad when
they leave.
 Physical therapy...
 Working on walking...
 Max still waiting at door...
Now he's in our cozy cottage,
looking out the window.
 Walt started peeling apples at
12:45 noon...
 Finished at 5:00...which also
had us going back to the store
for more apples.
Put two apple pies in oven at 5:15,
with the third one with the
extra apples in after these two pies
finished baking.
It takes s a long time to get
things done now...
at ages 84 and 79.
We loved it when Gary got here.
He is staying with us from Wed-Sat.
What a blessing!

 H A P P Y   T H A N K S G I V I N G . . .

Here are my Dad and Mom with my sister and me.

I was home on a break from Henager's Business College
in Salt Lake City.  I was 19, Janice was 9.

When I was growing up, we always went to my Grampa 'n Grama Huffaker's home for Thanksgiving.
Dave and Ella Huffaker - Photo from the 1960s
when they were in their 70s. - My mother's Dad and Mom
  Turkey's ready to begin roasting...7:30 a.m.
Turkey's in the roaster in the garage.
 Gary ready for some early-Thanksgiving-morning
flag football.
 The overnight rain is
letting up.
 Max watching Gary leave,
but also looking to see if
his John & Julie family
are returning yet.
 Max waiting...
I have the ingredients ready to
mix the rolls.
...just need to add a little more
flour to be ready to knead them...

Gary came home all invigorated from
a fun flag football game with 11 friends...
His team won!
"Perfect football everything this morning!" he exclaimed.
Gary replaced his old cleats this year.

"Gary, I love you! said Walt.
"I love you, too, Dad," Gary replied.
What tender Father-Son times.
We finished the last of the
"left-over" apples for that third pie.
We have these two other pies
to serve for dinner.
 It says:
Thanks-giving 2018.
  Marissa, came to do her
home health job to help Walt.
We invited her to dinner, but she still
had a long list of people to go help and
couldn't come
We are getting close to being ready.
Gary did the bulk of cooking
our Thanksgiving dinner.  Thank you, son!
You can see the rolls on their last
time of raising, ready to go
into the oven.
We are so happy and excited that my
sister, Janice, and Jeff could join us!
Our Mom was only able to have two children...
ten years apart.
Gary is putting the hot rolls on...
 What a precious time
with my sister and Jeff!
They have some exciting times coming up!

Later that evening we went to a movie.
We had the traditional Thanksgiving evening snack when
we got home: Homemade rolls filled with turkey, lathered in
Miracle Whip.
 ...followed by choice of pie:
Gary had warm blueberry with ice cream.
Walt had our homemade apple pie with ice cream, and then a
little piece of Marie Calendar's chocolate silk pie.
I had the same as Walt.
It has been a wonderful
T H A N K S G I V I N G   D A Y !
We are very thankful for each other,
for Gary helping put it all together,
for Janice and Jeff adding to our family bonds
of love and sharing family memories,
and for each and every one of our
children and grandchildren who
fill our lives with love and happiness.
We also remember and are so thankful
for our parents, grandparents, and beyond
who began these family traditions that
we enjoy and love to carry on
for our posterity.
We knew Thanksgiving was over when Gary
went out to put the pumpkins, bales of hay,
cornstalks in the garbage cans to be
taken away tomorrow. And the
rest of the Autumn decorations
packed away until next Autumn.
 We say goodnight and
sweet dreams of a
happy Autumn Season.
Here's some highlights about the movie.
We Gary, Walt, and I went to the movie
Creed II - in which Stallone is age 72...
...which is the 7th sequel to...
Rocky from 1976
when Sylvester Stallone was age 30.

 We liked it a lot.
Walt's words at the end were: "Very Intense!"
The film Rocky has spawned seven sequels: Rocky II (1979), Rocky III (1982), Rocky IV (1985), Rocky V (1990),Rocky Balboa (2006),  Creed (2015), and Creed II (2018).
Walt turning off his cell phone at the movie...
We sat where Walt's wheelchair had a spot.
We were at the Megaplex at Thanksgiving Point...
which is only about a 15-minute drive from our home.

Family is Everything…
   ...the beginning of Christmas Season...
It's  beginning to look a lot like
      Christmas...
and it also includes many family Christmas traditions...
We enjoyed the turkey dinner left overs...
Then we drove to Sandy to the Hale Centre Theatre to see...
It was our first time there...
By the time it started it was packed full.
There are 900 seats...
There are 47 motors that move the sets up, down, and around.
We loved the play. It was almost as charming to see the sets being spectacularly moved as actually seeing the performance.

When we got back from the theater,
we had a fun surprise visit from our
neighbors and dear friends from Burley--
Dave and Marilyn Gibbons.
They had Thanksgiving in Herriman with
their daughter Jeni and family,
plus their youngest daughter, Lanae and
her family came down from northern Montana.

How wonderful it was to talk to them!
Precious time to catch up with them and
their family, and about how our other
friends in Burley are doing.

Marissa, the CNA for Home Health came to help this morning.
We loved having Ruth Melling and Kirt
come to visit us!
 Kirt took a selfie so
Gary could be in the picture.
 Then we went to IKEA...
...to find a small desk for Walt.
We just got the desk, not the
side file for now.
We chose this one.
We drove back home at sunset.
Gary brought the tree over from
our storage unit.
  Anxious to see how
it stored with the decorations
still on it.
Gary set it up by the window.
The pre-show for the BYU-Utah football game was on.
  Goodbye Thankgiving decorations...
  ,,,
Love the Pilgrim, Indian, and turkey decor.
  Game time...

Such high hopes...and we were winning for three quarters!

Utah defeats BYU for eighth straight Holy War victory...35-27.

 The new desk is great...

Family is Everything…
We got to Church with 7 minutes to spare...
They announced our 2019 Church time will be
12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
    Sunday dinner was...
...the last of the left overs.
One homemade roll, a half sugar cookie,
some orange fluff, and some apple pie
are all that's left now.
We are thankful for Gary setting up our
Christmas tree.
John's family's tradition for the day after
Thanksgiving is to get permits and go
up in the mountains by Pomerelle
and cut their Christmas trees.
Because of shopping on Friday,
they now do this on Saturday.
(It used to be $1, then for a long time
it's been $5, and John said now it is
$10 per tree, but a tree like he got
would cost $90 at a tree lot.
He said the wind was so fierce and biting
where they went yesterday, that he
was about ready to just pay the $90.
They found the perfect tree!
Will decorate it tomorrow.
As the sun sets, we hope you have had
a restful and peaceful Sabbath Day.
As Thanksgiving week of family time together
for 2018 comes to an end
we testify of these truths...
As I began my normal testimony,
I've been prompted tonight
to focus on families.
We know that families can be together forever
 because of the sealing power
restored to the earth.
I found this teaching about the
Keys of Sealing by Joseph Fielding Smith.
His grandfather, Hyrum Smith, was
the brother of the Prophet Joseph Smith.

When you click this link below, another link comes
up that takes you to Chapter 17 about
the Keys of the Sealing Power:

“Elijah came to restore to the earth … the fulness of the power of priesthood. This priesthood holds the keys of binding and sealing on earth and in heaven of all the ordinances and principles pertaining to the salvation of man.”
Family is Everything…
Families are Forever!
 Of this truth we testify,
in the Name of Jesus Christ,
amen.

The earthly beginning--
as we know it--
of our family
was June 14, 1961...

...to now 57 years later...
with eternity to go.
