Today we spoke at the two sessions of the San Salvador Stake Conference...9:00-11:00 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m.
The stake relief society presidency served the stake presidency and families, the mission president and his wife, and us a nice luncheon before the hour drive to Zacatecoluca.  With these sandwiches, they had plates of fruit to pass around, plus orange juice.
Here's a photo of the group gathered for lunch...
President López (Jaime) our stake president and the temple recorder is in charge of seeing that someone either drives us or guides us to each stake conference.
Today our guides were Roberto Torres y Aida Palacios, who rode with us in the temple Honda Odyssey that Walt drove.
When Aida first said the name of the city we were driving to, I asked: "Did you just make up that long-difficult-to-pronounce word?"  She laughed and assure me it was a real place.
The theme was "I will go, I will do because I know..." 1 Nephi 3:7
Here is the Stake Presidency in the Barrio Zacatecoluca (pronounced: Zak-a-te-co-luka) after the second session:
Presidente Joel Luna-2nd C, Presidente Manuel López-stake president, and Presidente Celio Arévalo-1st C.
The people love to greet us and we love to greet them before and after these stake conferences. The second counselor's son, a "future missionary."
Young and old...
Hermano Diaz, one of our faithful temple workers...
Another future missionary-- the 6-mo old son of the second counselor...
Walt especially loves to greet the elderly members...
On our way out...
There are adorable children here...
They love to have big flower arrangements in the front.  This one was so tall, when the first speaker started her talk--the stake relief society president who is very short, one of the clerks walked over and moved the flowers to the said because they couldn't see her at the pulpit.
We are always stressed out about our talks....and most of the time they have about have the time left they told us to prepare for. But we feel very happy when we're through and hope the people have a deeper desire to come to the temple and partake of the restored temple ordinances, receiving the sacred temple covenants and promises.

This is what we saw as we drove into our temple square this evening. (Photo from when we first arrived the summer of 2011.)
"I love to see the temple,
  I'm going there someday..."
We'll be going there again on Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, 2013, to open the temple at 5:30 a.m. for the morning shift.
We're sadly counting down the days until the Gibbons and Kitleys finish their 18-month temple mission here on Jan. 25.
We are crossing our fingers that we have two couples coming soon to keep our complement of 4 full-time temple missionaries complete.
