how it treats the least fortunate."

"Time moves slowly, but passes quickly...

TIME...
On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.

*All that I am or ever hope to be,
I not only owe to my

angel mother and father,
...but my wonderful husband,
Walter Ray Petersen.

Walt called himself...

"The last of the old-time country doctors."

He delivered about 4,000 babies, among fixing broken hips, other surgeries, and even made house calls. As Janie said in his obituary:"He healed many hearts, heads, hands, and everything in-between."

In the 1950s you had to be 20 to serve a mission. This is Walt in August 1954, on the day he was set apart in Salt Lake City
to be a missionary.

One of Walt's happiest of happy places was as the pilot flying...
Our first plane was a piper Cherokee...
Then in a six-seater Cessna high-wing, turbo-charged airplane. Foxtrot 4824 was the call number  {owned with two partners).
Walt was also a carpenter at heart--like his carpenter father, Ray Petersen.

We were blessed to serve 4 missions together--July 1995-July 1998

The Salmon River, known as "The River of No Return," originates in the Sawtooth and Lemhi Valleys of central and eastern Idaho; snows from the Sawtooth and Salmon River Mountains in the south and the Clearwater and Bitterroot Mountains in the north feed this river. The upper section passes through the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, while the lower section forms the southern boundary of the Gospel-Hump Wilderness. In recognition of the river's many outstanding values, including scenery, recreation, geology, fish, wildlife, water quality, botany, prehistory, history and cultural traditional use, Congress designated 46 miles of the river, from North Fork to Corn Creek, as a recreational river and 79 miles, from Corn Creek to Long Tom Bar, as a wild river.

 Happy Birthday...

Seth and Sarah...

Thoughts about Seth & Sarah from

Grampa & Grama Petersen...

Twenty-three years ago

when Seth and Sarah were born,

June 17, 2002,

I flew out to help for two weeks.

My last night there, I told Jen she

needed to get a good night's sleep,

so I would take care of the twins.

She pumped enough breast milk

to feed them during the night.

I was up all that night, feeding

Seth then Sarah...then...

I wondered how Jen was

going to survive.

But she did, and so did

these precious twins.

 Here's what their

Great-grandmother,

Verna Beth Huffaker Albertson

wrote in her life story about

their birth. She was 82 when they were born.

Seth Ashton Brewer and Sarah Eileen Brewer – twins – My 23rd and 24th __ Great-Grandchildren Born June 17, 2002

June 17, 2002, twins were born to Jennifer and Jerry Brewer in Detroit, Michigan.  Seth Ashton Brewer is g-gc #23 and Sarah Eileen Brewer is g-gc #24.  They were born 7 weeks early but have had no medical problems other than being small—Seth 4#5oz,                          and Sarah barely 5#.

Eileen flew back to be with Jen and help her for two weeks.  Then she flew back again for 2 weeks in July on their due date because she had the tickets purchased that were non-refundable and figured Jen needed all the help she could get with twins.  Jen was up most of the nights nursing her two babies on their different feeding schedules of eating every few hours.

FAMILY

 WITH GRAMA PETERSEN,

MOM AND SIBLINGS

Family is everything...
and so are friends!

Seth, Happy Birthday – June 17, 2025 - from Grama Petersen here…                                                              …and Grampa Petersen from heaven

Seth Ashton Brewer you are our 19th grandchild by age of our 39 grandchildren.  Someone asked me: How can you even remember the names of so many grandchildren? I replied: Would you like me to tell you their names and birthdates from memory, now?

Just as Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother love each of their children—and know each one by name—we do too.

Seth, please know that you have always been loved and cherished by Grampa Petersen and me. You and Sarah were given your name and Father’s Priesthood Blessing in our home in August 2002.

We loved watching you grow up, and I’m extra sad that Grampa graduated to heaven on August 21, 2020- the day before you were going to arrive in Provo to begin your college life at BYU.  You could have been able to get to know him better in his elderly years.

When you were able to be in our home in Burley, Idaho, you were always kind and thoughtful of Grampa and me.   You are always so attentive and helpful to me at the PUNN {Petersen Uncle Nephew-Niece } dinners that Uncle Steve hosts monthly.

Seth, you are handsome, smart, tender-hearted, kind, valiant, strong-in-the-faith, adventurous, charming, observant, curious, fun to be around, and you have many other wonderful qualities.

What excellent taste—especially in the darling gal you are dating.

I would call you an Elect Gentleman.   Carry on…

Love always, Grama Eileen Petersen …and Grampa P. from heaven

Happy Birthday Sarah...

Everything we said about Seth

can also be echoed for you.

I feel that however God--Elohim--

chose to create life on earth

is the right way.

Some critics of Darwinian, or Neo-Darwinian, or unguided evolution — whatever term you prefer to use — and advocates of what is often called “intelligent design” have raised more than a few points that deserve thoughtful consideration rather than mere summary dismissal.

I D A H O

SALMON RIVER

AKA

THE RIVER OF NO RETURN

HIGHWAY 20 – THE LEGENDARY ROAD –

 FAIRFIELD, IDAHO
🏞️ A picture-perfect slice of wild America.

"Hi Folks,

Idaho isn't just about majestic mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and endless meadows. It’s also about the roads – long, winding, or stretching out straight to the horizon – and Highway 20 is one of those rare journeys where the road itself becomes a story.

Some people seek beauty by climbing peaks, camping under the stars, or paddling through rivers.
As for me – I find it on four wheels, through a lens.
Because photography, to me, isn't just about capturing scenery…

It’s about holding onto the milestones – the places where our eyes paused, our hearts stirred, and our feet once wandered.

On Highway 20, there are moments that seem so simple:
The wind brushing against your face, light breaking through the clouds, a wave from a stranger passing by in the opposite lane…
But when you stop and look at the road stretching endlessly ahead, you’ll understand why they call this the legendary road.

📸 Every photo is a piece of memory.
🛣️ Every mile is a taste of freedom.
💭 And every journey is a quiet discovery of who we are becoming.

If you’ve never driven through Fairfield or truly taken in the beauty of Highway 20 – let it be your next destination.
No rush. No noise.
Just the open sky, the wind, and the moments that make life worth remembering.

Have a great day to all!

See Yah!"

Happy FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

June 20, 2025

       First Day of Summer...

Saratoga Springs is at 8:42 pm on Friday,

June 20, 2025. In terms of daylight, this day is 5

hours, 46 minutes longer than the December

solstice. In most locations north of the equator,

the longest day of the year is around this date.

The earliest sunrise is on June 13. The latest sunset is on June 27.

Looking ahead...

August 9-16 is the

Cassia County

Fair & Rodeo in

Burley, Idaho

Looks like the

Maple Bars are back.

*** *** ***

The summer solstice falls late in the day on Friday, June 20 in the United States (it will already be Saturday, June 21 in Europe). It’s the longest day and shortest night in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s also the first official day of summer.

Eileen's note: The grand pyramid

at Chichen Itza is aligned with the

sun so that on the Solstice the

shadows form a snake going down

the edge of the pyramid's steps.

Our ancient ancestors certainly took note of the yearly occasion. Some of their monuments were aligned to precisely mark the summer solstice light (looking at you Stonehenge).

Pagan celebrations of the day carry on into modern times. Events include gatherings at Stonehenge in England, the Midsummer Eve celebration in Sweden and Ivan Kupala Night in parts of Eastern Europe.

The mirror image of the winter solstice, the summer solstice is historically linked to fertility – both the plant and human variety – in destinations worldwide.

The science of the solstice and its traditions have fascinated people for millennia.

Summer solstice is not

 observed all over the world

It is only in the Northern Hemisphere, where almost 90% of the world's population lives. People south of the equator in places such as Chile, South Africa, and Australia are having their winter solstice and the shortest day of the year there.

                    Family is Everything…

I always love dinner and a movie with Stever...

This is our 4th time

going to Blossom...

That must mean we like it!

"How to Train Your Dragon"

How to Train Your Dragon is a 2025 American fantasy film that is a live-action remake of the 2010 animated film, itself loosely based on the 2003 novel by Cressida Cowell

Just as Steve got me to the

handicapped seat at 7:00,

my phone rang. It was my sister, Janice, who

asked me if I had the news on.

When I told her Steve and I had just gotten to a

movie,  she told me the U.S. had just bombed

3 nuclear sites in Iran and that

President Trump would address

the nation in one hour.

I could hardly believe it!

"So the 'two weeks' was only a ruse," I said.

"Evidentally" she replied, as she added before

hanging up "Enjoy the movie if you can."

*** *** ***
We did enjoy the movie.

This is a fun, feel-good movie,

where good triumphs.

Hope the same happens in our

real world now.

Thanks for a great
evening out, Steve.

Today I read three interesting quotes:
1.

“God watches the times and seasons. He knows your individual bearing capacities. In the very, very last days, for example, He will display His mercy in an unusual way: “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” (Matt. 24:22). Thus, you can have full faith and trust in God, His mercy and goodness. As the Psalmist wrote, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God”      (Psalms 20:7).”                                                                --Elder Neal A. Maxwell from ‘These Are Your Days’

*** *** *** *** *** *** ***

2.

"While visiting the British Museum in London one day, I read a most unusual book. It is not scripture. It is an English translation of an ancient Egyptian manuscript. From it I quote a dialogue between the Father and the Son. Referring to His Father, Jehovah—the premortal Lord—says:

“He took the clay from the hand of the angel, and made Adam according to Our image and likeness, and He left him lying for forty days and forty nights without putting breath into him. And He heaved sighs over him daily, saying, ‘If I put breath into this [man], he must suffer many pains.’ And I said unto My Father, ‘Put breath into him; I will be an advocate for him.’ And My Father said unto Me, ‘If I put breath into him, My beloved Son, Thou wilt be obliged to go down into the world, and to suffer many pains for him before Thou shalt have redeemed him, and made him to come back to his primal state.’ And I said unto My Father, ‘Put breath into him; I will be his advocate, and I will go down into the world, and will fulfil Thy command.’”

Although this text is not scripture, it reaffirms scriptures that teach of the deep and compassionate love of the Father for the Son, and of the Son for us—attesting that Jesus volunteered willingly to be our Savior and Redeemer."

President Nelson

3.

“If you find it difficult to walk steadfastly on our common path back to Heavenly Father within the Church of Jesus Christ, if the laughter and ridicule of others who seem so confident cause you to waver, if you are troubled by unanswered questions or doctrines you don't understand yet; if you feel saddened because of disappointments, I urge you to stay on the path! And when anyone tries to make you ashamed for partaking of the love of God, ignore them. Never forget you are a child of God.”

Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Family is Everything…

 Sunday and

The Sacrement

I thought this is a good description of the

 sacred Sacrament:

"On this holy sabbath day, I invite you to share why you partake of the sacrament each week.

This is mine in part-

Have you ever taken the sacrament knowing you’re not perfect-knowing there are still challenges and struggles in your life that this one act won’t immediately overcome-fractures in your heart, mind and relationships it won’t immediately heal.

Have you ever taken the sacrament in faith that as you strive to turn your life over to God through His Christ, He can comfort and love you and over time, help you overcome your challenges, struggles, and strifes and heal the fractures in your heart, mind and relationships.

Have you ever taken the sacrament in the hope that through the infinite and eternal atoning sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ you can humbly come unto His Father-and ours-in sincere repentance and prayer and draw ever closer to them, receiving their mercy, forgiveness, healing and help in all things.

I take the sacrament not because I am perfect or even believe that I am, but because I’m broken and need His help and healing.

I take the sacrament with a faith similar to the woman who touched the hem of His garment- knowing only He can heal… and lift and perfect.

I take the sacrament with FAITH and HOPE in CHRIST, desiring to learn of His charity, love and mercy for all God’s children."

Barbara Lindeman taught the lesson from a talk

 by Sister Ruina on Repentance...

"Your Repentance Doesn’t Burden Jesus Christ; It Brightens His Joy"

April 2025 General Conference
Sunday Morning Session
By Sister Tamara W. Runia --
First Counselor in the Young Women General Presidency...

Sister Lindeman played a solo of someone singing "O, That I Were An Angel"

O That I Were an Angel Lyrics

Artist: Allyse Smith

Oh, that I were an angel,
Oh, that I were an angel,
and could have the wish, the wish of my heart,
could have the wish of my heart.

Oh, that I were an angel,
Oh, that I were an angel
and could have the wish of my heart.

That I might go forth and speak with a trump, the trump of God!
With a voice, a voice to shake the earth!
Shake the earth!
And cry repentance,
repentance unto every people,
to every people,
to every people.

Cry repentance unto every people,
REPENTANCE.

Oh, that I were an angel,
Oh, that I were an angel
and could have the wish of my heart,
could have the wish of my heart.

Oh, that I were an angel!

The lesson began at 1:27 and

was finished at 1:45...

...so the Sisters had 15 minutes to

talk with each other before the

Primary, Y.W., Y.M. and Priesthood

were ended.

Sara and her Mom, Judy, joined me for a photo.

Our beighborhood and ward was blessed when

the Mattetts bought Judy Duntson's home and

moved here in November 2021.

They are wonderful and we love them.

And we love Judy Dunston and miss her,

but know she is doing well in the

St. George area.

She's the one who started lunch bunch in

April 2018 for Linda Hartley when Bill passed

away after his valliant battle with cancer.

Lunch Bunch started with those two and now we

 have 21 on the list.

There is always an open invitation...

Julie took a photo of me when she

drove up to give me a ride home.

This afternoon...

John, thanks for a delicious

Sunday dinner.

Julie, thanks for the rolls

and homemade strawberry

jam to put on them.

9:09 p.m. and still light outside.

Sunrise was at 5:58 a.m.

Sunset was at 9:01 p.m.

...and if you're lucky enough to

end the day with brownies

just out of the oven and

ice cream that Julie

just brought me

...you're lucky

enough!

Thank you, Julie.

I am well taken care of here

** *I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this

 Great Plan operational.

At the end of this
June 22nd,

I pray you have had a                           restful, peaceful, and spiritual     Sabbath Day...

...adding today: ...and pray we will

not be bombed by Iran.

I share these truths as                                my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.

*** *** ***

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

"Jesus Christ, He, the Son of God, who by His matchless and eternal power overcame death. He is the Redeemer of the world. He gave His life for each of us. He took it up again and became the firstfruits of them that slept. He, as King of Kings, stands triumphant above all other kings. He, as the Omnipotent One, stands above all rulers. He is our comfort, our only true comfort, when the dark shroud of earthly night closes about us as the spirit departs the human form. He is our King, our Lord, our Master, the living Christ, who stands on the right hand of His Father. He lives! He lives, resplendent and wonderful, the living Son of the living God."                                                President Hinckley -- 1 Timothy 6:15:  "Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords".                                                                                                                              Revelation 17:14"These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful".                                                                                                                                   Revelation 19:16: -- "And he hath on his vesture and on
