how it treats the least fortunate."
"Time moves slowly, but passes quickly...
TIME...
On this blog I share with family and friends my thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.
*All that I am or ever hope to be,
I not only owe to my

angel mother and father,

...but my wonderful husband,
Walter Ray Petersen.

Walt called himself...
"The last of the old-time country doctors."

He delivered about 4,000 babies, among fixing broken hips, other surgeries, and even made house calls.As Janie said in his obituary:"He healed many hearts, heads, hands, and everything in-between."
In the 1950s you had to be 20 to serve a mission. This is Walt in August 1954, on the day he was set apart in Salt Lake City
to be a missionary for the
Uruguay-Paraguay Mission
for 30 months.

Walt was also a carpenter at heart--like his carpenter father, Ray Petersen.
This blog is...Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen...
...their spouses--Julie, John, Jennifer, Jerry--our 39 grandchildren--8 spouses of G-C, and 8 great-grandchildren, including Ingrid Ray born December 4, 2024--for a posterity of 71.

Our cleaning gals came today...

Appointment at 1:30
with the dentist...
3 small cavities, didn't
have any novacane, but no pain.
So rarely happens that way.
Dr. Brandon Greenwood was the dentist.
I didn't get a photo.
Rachel was the dental assistant.
Thank you, Kathie, for drivng me
to and from this appointment.
I'm always relieved when dental
visits are over...

A1C went from 8.7 in February

to 8.1 today.

21 Missionaries were

able to come...

three Elders drove

12 hours from Tijuana...

One Elder and his wife

drove 11 hours from Arizona...

Elder Sean Monroe flew

in from Dallas, Texas.

No matter how far or how

close, it was heavenly to

be with each one who

was able to come.

I know more wanted to come,

but we don't always get to

do what we most want to do.

Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1961.

It remains the happiest day

of my life -- actually, of

my eternity!

30-Year Mission Reunion continues with temple session at Timpanogos Temple in American Fork.
8 Missionaries were able to attend
the 10:00 Session Saturday morning,
on this June 14.**

Then some were able to
have lunch at Jim's...

enough for driving me
to all these mission
events Friday and Saturday.
You and your husband are
so kind and generous for
driving me...
coming the 38 miles from

his M.D. degree.

Janie was born on the same
day Walt began his internship
at Minneapolis General Hospital.

The bassinet our friends gave us at
a baby shower in St. Louis.

on the Coast Guard Cutter

Pacific Ocean.

We rendezvoused with him
in Hawaii in Nov 1963.
Walt -- 1965 becomes
the father of two children.

joined us in Talihina, Oklahoma,
where Walt was doing his
military duty in the
United States Public Health Service,
at an Indian Hospital.

when Steve joined us

in December.

* I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of Jesus Christ that makes this

Great Plan operational.

At the end of this
June 15th,
I pray you have had a restful, peaceful, and spiritual Sabbath Day...
I share these truths as   my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence. He loves us just as we are at this very moment.

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

"Jesus Christ, He, the Son of God, who by His matchless and eternal power overcame death. He is the Redeemer of the world. He gave His life for each of us. He took it up again and became the firstfruits of them that slept. He, as King of Kings, stands triumphant above all other kings. He, as the Omnipotent One, stands above all rulers. He is our comfort, our only true comfort, when the dark shroud of earthly night closes about us as the spirit departs the human form. I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."
