Walt called himself...
"The last of the old-time country doctors."
He delivered about 4,000 babies, among fixing broken hips, other surgeries, and even made house calls. As Janie said in his obituary:"He healed many hearts, heads, hands, and everything in-between."
In the 1950s you had to be 20 to serve a mission. This is Walt in August 1954, on the day he was set apart in Salt Lake City to be a missionary.
Walt was also a carpenter at heart--like his carpenter father, Ray Petersen.

The Salmon River, known as "The River of No Return," originates in the
Sawtooth and Lemhi Valleys of central and eastern Idaho; snows from the
Sawtooth and Salmon River Mountains in the south and the Clearwater and
Bitterroot Mountains in the north feed this river. The upper section passes
through the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, while the lower section
forms the southern boundary of the Gospel-Hump Wilderness. In recognition of
the river's many outstanding values, including scenery, recreation, geology,
fish, wildlife, water quality, botany, prehistory, history and cultural
traditional use, Congress designated 46 miles of the river, from North Fork to
Corn Creek, as a recreational river and 79 miles, from Corn Creek to Long Tom
Bar, as a wild river.

Seth and Sarah...
Thoughts about Seth & Sarah from
Grampa & Grama Petersen...
Twenty-three years ago
when Seth and Sarah were born,
June 17, 2002,
I flew out to help for two weeks.
My last night there, I told Jen she
needed to get a good night's sleep,
so I would take care of the twins.
She pumped enough breast milk
to feed them during the night.
I was up all that night, feeding
Seth then Sarah...then...
I wondered how Jen was
going to survive.
But she did, and so did
these precious twins.
Here's what theirGreat-grandmother,
Verna Beth Huffaker Albertson
wrote in her life story about
their birth. She was 82 when they were born.

Great-Grandchildren Born June 17, 2002
June 17, 2002, twins were born to Jennifer and Jerry
Brewer in Detroit, Michigan. Seth Ashton
Brewer is g-gc #23 and Sarah Eileen Brewer is g-gc #24. They were born 7 weeks early but have had no
medical problems other than being small—Seth 4#5oz, and Sarah barely 5#.
Eileen flew back to be with Jen and help her for two
weeks. Then she flew back again for 2
weeks in July on their due date because she had the tickets purchased that were
non-refundable and figured Jen needed all the help she could get with
twins. Jen was up most of the nights
nursing her two babies on their different feeding schedules of eating every few
hours.

FAMILY
WITH GRAMA PETERSEN,
MOM AND SIBLINGS
Family is everything...and so are friends!Seth, Happy
Birthday – June 17, 2025 - from Grama Petersen here… …and
Grampa Petersen from heaven
Seth
Ashton Brewer you are our 19th grandchild by age of our 39
grandchildren. Someone asked me: How can
you even remember the names of so many grandchildren? I replied: Would you like
me to tell you their names and birthdates from memory, now?
Just
as Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother love each of their children—and know
each one by name—we do too.
Seth,
please know that you have always been loved and cherished by Grampa Petersen
and me. You and Sarah were given your name and Father’s Priesthood Blessing in
our home in August 2002.
We
loved watching you grow up, and I’m extra sad that Grampa graduated to heaven
on August 21, 2020- the day before you were going to arrive in Provo to begin
your college life at BYU. You could have
been able to get to know him better in his elderly years.
When
you were able to be in our home in Burley, Idaho, you were always kind and
thoughtful of Grampa and me. You are
always so attentive and helpful to me at the PUNN {Petersen Uncle Nephew-Niece
} dinners that Uncle Steve hosts monthly.
Seth,
you are handsome, smart, tender-hearted, kind, valiant, strong-in-the-faith,
adventurous, charming, observant, curious, fun to be around, and you have many
other wonderful qualities.
What
excellent taste—especially in the darling gal you are dating.
I
would call you an Elect Gentleman.
Carry on…
Love
always, Grama Eileen Petersen …and Grampa P. from heaven
Happy Birthday Sarah...
Everything we said about Seth
can also be echoed for you.
had a wonderful birthday!
