On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.*All that I am or ever hope to be,I not only owe to my
TIME...
angel mother and father,
...but my wonderful husband,Walter Ray Petersen.
Walt called himself...
"The last of the old-time country doctors."

He delivered about 4,000 babies, among fixing broken hips, other surgeries, and even made house calls.As Janie said in his obituary:"He healed many hearts, heads, hands, and everything in-between."
In the 1950s you had to be 20 to serve a mission. This is Walt in August 1954, on the day he was set apart in Salt Lake City to be a missionary.
One of Walt's happiest of happy places was as the pilot flying...Our first plane was a piper Cherokee...
Then in a six-seater Cessna high-wing, turbo-charged airplane. 4824 Foxtrot was the call number {we owned with two partners).
We were blessed to serve 4 missions together--First:July 1995-July 1998

Today is Janie's birthday...
She was born with red hairlike her Aunt Phyllis
Janie's birthday...At about 3 months her hair cameout. When it grew back in,it was blond.
Age 1 and one half shegot to go to Hawaii andmeet her Dad's Coast Guard ship "Chatauqua" come in.
Janie's birthday...Ages 2 and 3 she livedin Talihina, Oklahoma.
Janie's birthday...Age 3 she moved toBurley, Idaho.

means "the trees" in French, since the earliest fur trappers, being
French-Canadians, exclaimed the phrase with joy upon finding the spot with a
great river.
The
state motto is "Esto Perpetua", which means "It is
forever".
Idaho
has more miles of rivers than any other state at 3,100 miles. Also, the Salmon
River is the longest free-flowing river that heads and flows within a single
state
Idaho
has a state horse, the Appaloosa, and state fish, the prized cutthroat trout.
It also has a state fruit...the huckleberry!
The
Center of the Universe is found there, in Wallace, population 800. Even has a
manhole cover marking the exact spot.
It's
called the Gem State because of the 72 types of precious and semi-precious
stones found here, including possibly the largest diamond ever found in the US!
One
of the world's rare blue football fields can be found at BSU, nicknamed the
Smurf Turf.
The
first alpine chairlift was invented in and for Sun Valley, and in 1936 the fee was 25 cents
per ride.
