Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen, their spouses, our 39 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and posterity to come.

Family is Everything…
Today was our last day in Rochester.
I love that Jen has this painting we
had in our master bedroom for
many years in Burley.
Ben, a busy senior, gets to pop in
for a quick lunch on some days.
Goodbye to the Brewers...
It's been great to be with you all
for 5 days.
We got to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport
in plenty of time for our 2:55 afternoon flight
back to Salt Lake City.
Jen, thanks for all you've done for us!

So grateful for Steve picking me up at the airport. And he drove Janie to her car in the long-term parking lot. We got to Saratoga Springs at 6:30. Janie got home to Rexburg about 9:00. I'm so thankful to her for going and helping me through the airports.
I watched an interesting movie on the plane:

40th Birthday – October 5, 2022  Thanks for the birthday wishes! The big 4-0! My thirties were my best decade yet - finished Stanford, had 2 more kids, became a software CEO, moved from CA to UT to CO back to UT, and founded my private equity firm as my forever job. Hoping and expecting my 40s decade will be even better than the last. I happen to have lost 40 lbs since the beginning of the year — coincidental number with my milestone birthday, but a good start to the next decade of my life. Here’s to the start of my 40s!! Let’s get it! 🙌🙌🤜🤛💪

This is not the movie we watched, but it was

It's my go to among the Epic movies ever made!

so hasn't been here for

                       Family is Everything…

My appointment for the 1 month check for my cataract surgery was today at 2:30.

Gary has been here to drive me to these appointments till now his company is having him fly to Sacramento every week.

Julie teaches Tuesday and Thursdays at BYU for her youth ballroom team.

Steve is getting ready to go out of town tomorrow.

David is seeing patients.

So I reached out to my sister. As it turned out she and Jeff were coming to American Fork this morning for grandparents' day for two of Mike and Candace's kids: Kate 1st grade, and Ryan 4th grade.

This finished at 11:00, so they drove on over to Saratoga Springs, we went to lunch at Denny's, and then they drove me to Murray to Dr. Jeppsen's office at Rocky Mountain Eye Care.

David got to talk to us between his seeing his patients.

Then they drove me back home--close to the busy rush hours. (As Janice said: "It's really almost 'rush hour' traffic all day long now.")

Dr. Jeppsen said my right eye looks completely

healed. And I got a new prescription for glasses.

We got out of the Eye Center at 3:30.

{I'm not very good at selfies and we got the

 giggles...like a sister thing.}

We got back to Saratoga Springs by 4:45.

Janice told me they got back to their home in

 Midvale before 6:00.

Jeff is a great driver in that busy freeway traffic.

I so appreciate their doing this for me.
It was a long day for them.

Family comes through. We talk on the phone a lot but hadn't seen each other since last Christmastime when we took their presents to their home in Midvale as Gary was driving me to Rexburg.

My Sunday photo

coming out of Church...

 Julie got the perfect photo
of the Hunter's Full Moon
from our front porch tonight.

 Here is my puny attempt
at getting a photo of it
from my window...

Keep an eye to the sky: The full hunter's moon will rise Sunday evening

Doyle Rice, USA Today - Yesterday 10:01 AM

The hunter's moon – the first full moon of fall – will rise Sunday in the eastern sky around sunset.

October’s full moon is called the hunter's moon because it's the time of year when, historically, hunters began collecting food and storing it for the long and cold winter months ahead, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac.

"Many moons ago, Native Americans named this bright moon for obvious reasons," the almanac said. "The leaves are falling from trees, the deer are fattened, and it’s time to begin storing up meat for the long winter ahead."

Other nicknames for the full moon

Other nicknames for October’s full moon include the falling leaves moon, the migrating moon, the drying rice moon and the freezing moon.

The last full moon rose on Sept. 10, 12 days before the autumnal equinox, which marked the start of astronomical fall across the Northern Hemisphere, AccuWeather said. That full moon was known as the harvest moon, one of the most popular full moons of the year.

HARVEST MOON: A harvest moon will rise this weekend. What you need to know about the full moon.

Hunter's moon follows the harvest moon

The harvest moon is the full moon closest to the September equinox. The hunter’s moon is the first full moon following the harvest moon.

The earliest use of the term “hunter’s moon,” cited in the Oxford English Dictionary, was in 1710.

** *I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.
At the end of this October 9th,

I pray you have had a

restful , peaceful, and spiritual

Sabbath Day...

I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.
He loves us just
as we are at this very moment.
He knows what our potential is.
Daily Scripture: Be wise in the days of your probation; strip yourselves of all uncleanness; ask not, that ye may consume it on your lusts, but ask with a firmness unshaken, that ye will yield to no temptation, but that ye will serve the true and living God. - Mormon 9:28
Daily Quote: Our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, feel sorrow when we choose to remain in sin, when the gift of repentance made possible through the Atonement can clean, reclaim, and sanctify our lives. - Shayne M. Bowen

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."
Daily Scripture: And blessed are all they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost. - 3 Nephi 12:6
Daily Quote: We have been promised the constant companionship of the third member of the Godhead and hence the privilege of receiving revelation for our own lives. - Sheri L. Dew

Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.

President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.

The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.

Daily Scripture: This life became a probationary state; a time to prepare to meet God; a time to prepare for that endless state which has been spoken of by us, which is after the resurrection of the dead. - Alma 12:24
Daily Quote: I invite you to diligently learn about and appreciate the eternal importance of temple covenants, temple ordinances, and temple worship as you strive to come unto the Savior. - David A. Bednar

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.  Because of the restored Temple Ordinances families can be sealed for eternity.
Daily Scripture: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. - Isaiah 29:14
Daily Quote: Seven centuries before the birth of Christ, Isaiah foresaw and foretold the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days. This is the spiritual kingdom of God moving forward in its divine course to fill the earth, a truly marvelous work and a wonder! - Ezra Taft Benson
