peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 16, 2022. Memorial Services
will be held October 11, 2022 at 6:30 pm. at the LDS Centennial Chapel, 49 East
Centennial Blvd, Saratoga Springs, Utah.
Arthur was born May 9, 1941 in
Pocatello, Idaho to parents Arthur Fisk McOmber Sr. and June Marineau McOmber.
He was the oldest of 6 children.
He enjoyed his youth participating in Scouting and organizing fun activities
such as dances. Art was asked to complete military training as a medic in the
US National Guard prior to serving an LDS mission to the Canadian Mission under
President Thomas S. Monson. It was near the end of his mission while attending
a small branch in Chatham Ontario, where he met the most beautiful music
conductor he had ever seen and requested special permission to return and court
Diana Lee Stuart once released. They were soon married and were sealed for
eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple, August 28, 1963.
Together they raised a family while
living in Salt Lake City, UT, Fremont, CA, Lake Oswego, OR, Lehi UT, and
Saratoga Springs, UT. They were married 52 years before his dear wife passed
away 5 years ago. However, he continued to consider himself married and
recently celebrated their “eternal” 57th anniversary.
Arthur loved being a family man and
was devoted to his wife and their four children. His favorite title was Papa
given to him by the grandchildren. We all affectionately thought of him as a
“Gentle Giant”.
Art graduated with a Bachelor's
degree from the University of Utah and a Master’s Degree in Business from the
University of Phoenix. Education is a family priority and he encouraged his
children to graduate from college, all of which did from BYU.
Art loved the people he worked with
throughout his long career. Some of the main businesses he worked for are: San
Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind where he learned ASL. He was also a pioneer
from the beginning of cellular phones throughout the western states and Hawaii:
Bechtel, GTE Mobilnet, Sprint, Motorola, Verizon, and Pacific Telephone.
Anyone who knows Art knows just how
much he loves sports both as a participant and a spectator especially in
basketball, baseball and football. His buddies often referred to him as, “King
Arthur” because he played with intensity, class and fairness. He instilled in
his children a love of athletic and healthy competition.
Most people know Art as a real
gentleman who never had a harsh word for anyone, quick to share a compliment,
express appreciation and loved to serve all those around him. His faith in our
Savior was demonstrated by his patient actions and service in many church
assignments including as a temple worker.
Art is survived by his loving four
children and their spouses who he often said were his kids just the same;
Tammara Ballard and husband Mark, Art McOmber III and wife Barbara, Michael
McOmber and wife Breanna, and Devon McPherson and husband Levi. He has 14
beautiful grandchildren and 9 amazing great grandchildren. He is also survived
by his brother, Howard McOmber, sister, Susan Lemons and brother in law, Ken
Stuart.
The family would like to express our
gratitude for the loving care of the staff of Active Hospice and Abbington
Assisted Living Home in Lehi, Utah.
We love you Dad, Papa, and friend
and know you are with your sweetheart celebrating and working hard. We will do
our best to live up to your name and reputation. Thank you for always being
there with love and support, cheers, and pep talks throughout the years.

Sabbath Day...
I share these truths as my testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence. He loves us just as we are at this very moment. He knows what our potential is.Daily Scripture: Be wise in the days of your probation; strip yourselves of all uncleanness; ask not, that ye may consume it on your lusts, but ask with a firmness unshaken, that ye will yield to no temptation, but that ye will serve the true and living God. - Mormon 9:28
Daily Quote: Our Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, feel sorrow when we choose to remain in sin, when the gift of repentance made possible through the Atonement can clean, reclaim, and sanctify our lives. - Shayne M. Bowen
{ Elder Shayne M. Bowen was our Area President when we served asArea Medical Advisor and AssistantinThe South America South AreaArgentina, Uruguay, ParaguayOct 2008-Mar 2010}
*** *** ***Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead. Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."Daily Scripture: And blessed are all they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost. - 3 Nephi 12:6
Daily Quote: We have been promised the constant companionship of the third member of the Godhead and hence the privilege of receiving revelation for our own lives. - Sheri L. Dew
*** *** *** *** ***Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration. He is the Restorer of all things.President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world. *** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.*** *** ***Daily Scripture: This life became a probationary state; a time to prepare to meet God; a time to prepare for that endless state which has been spoken of by us, which is after the resurrection of the dead. - Alma 12:24
Daily Quote: I invite you to diligently learn about and appreciate the eternal importance of temple covenants, temple ordinances, and temple worship as you strive to come unto the Savior. - David A. Bednar
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today. Because of the restored Temple Ordinances families can be sealed for eternity.Daily Scripture: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. - Isaiah 29:14
Daily Quote: Seven centuries before the birth of Christ, Isaiah foresaw and foretold the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ in these latter days. This is the spiritual kingdom of God moving forward in its divine course to fill the earth, a truly marvelous work and a wonder! - Ezra Taft Benson
