Spring is only 23 days away.

I always love quote about our earth:

"Curiosity has its own reason for existence.
One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates
the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous
structure of reality... Never lose a holy curiosity."

Daily Scripture: But the Lord knoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all power unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen. - 1 Nephi 9:6

Daily Quote: My message to you today, my brothers and sisters, is simply this: the Lord is in control. He knows the end from the beginning. He has given us adequate instruction that, if followed, will see us safely through any crisis. His purposes will be fulfilled, and someday we will understand the eternal reasons for all of these events. - M. Russell Ballard

Family is Everything...
     Ladies' Lunch was at One*Man*Band*Diner
Linda B, Kathie, Carol
MaryAnn, Eileen, Sharon
Such a great variety of food...
Two got halibut,
Two got Philly Cheese Steak...
One got a

Jalapeño   hamburger...
One got the cheese omelet {omelette)
and three got scones.
We thought it would be fun to
get our parting photo by the
jukebox...
Whether 6 or 16 we always enjoy
being together.
We always miss those who can't come...
One's still in Egypt for two more days,
one's in the Dominican Republic,
one needed another week to get feeling better
from Covid, one is having a same-day surgery,
one got to spend two hours in the dentist chair,
one had a doctor appointment come up...

I had Kathie take this photo of the icicles
on the bottom of her car door to show
how cold it was. I don't remember
seeing icicles like that before
on a car door.
Despite the cold and snow,
One*Man*Band*Diner
was full.

                                 Today RUSSIA INVADED UKRAINE
The Presidency of the Eastern European Territory
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
released the following message to Ukrainian members of the faith after Russia began an invasion of the
country early Thursday. The translated message reads:

“We are aware that these are difficult times. The First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are fully aware of the current situation, and we are monitoring this situation day by day and hour by hour. Prophets, seers and revelators pray for you and for the hearts of the leaders to be softened for peace. We also pray about it every day. We are also very grateful that all other work of the Church in Ukraine is being done and that the Kyiv Church remains open.

We love you all and pray that God will watch over you and protect you. We urge you to know Jesus Christ more fully: pray daily, study the scriptures, and see His hand in your life. We know that when you come to know Him, you will feel His love and the peace that only He can bring.”

With great love and respect,

the Presidency of the Eastern European Territory

Scott D. Whiting
Kirill Pokhilko

No official statement has been released from the First Presidency as of this publication. All Latter-day Saint missionaries in Ukraine were removed from the country in late January 2022 as the result of the rising unrest. At the time, the First Presidency said, “We pray for a peaceful resolution to the tensions in Ukraine and look forward to when the missionaries may return.”

First Presidency Releases Statement

on Armed Conflict in Ukraine

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

 has issued the following statement:

We are heartbroken and deeply concerned by the armed conflict now raging. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has members in each of the affected areas and throughout the world. Our minds and hearts have been turned toward them and all our brothers and sisters.

We continue to pray for peace. We know that enduring peace can be found through Jesus Christ. He can calm and comfort our souls even in the midst of terrible conflicts. He taught us to love God and our neighbors.

We pray that this armed conflict will end quickly, that the controversies will end peacefully and that peace will prevail among nations and within our own hearts. We plead with world leaders to seek for such resolutions and peace.

Earlier this week, Russian forces under the direction of President Vladimir Putin launched attacks on the country of Ukraine, home to approximately 11,000 Latter-day Saints. The Eastern European Territory Presidency also released a statement comforting members affected. Missionaries were removed from the country in later January and the Church continues to monitor the situation and provide support and relief.

Groundbreaking Dates Set for Temples in Nevada and Colorado

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the groundbreaking dates for the Elko Nevada Temple and the Grand Junction Colorado Temple, both announced by President Russell M. Nelson in April 2021.

Elko Nevada Temple

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Elko Nevada Temple will be held on Saturday, May 7. Elder Paul B. Pieper of the Quorum of the Seventy will preside at the event.

The Elko Nevada Temple will be built on a 5.2-acre site adjacent to the southeast corner of Ruby View Golf Course. Plans call for a single-story structure of about 10,000 square feet. This will be Nevada’s third temple, following the Las Vegas and Reno Temples. Nevada is home to approximately 185,000 Latter-day Saints and 350 congregations.

Grand Junction Colorado Temple

Leaders will break ground for the Grand Junction Colorado Temple on Saturday, April 16. Elder Chi Hong (Sam) Wong of the Quorum of the Seventy will preside at the event.

The temple in Colorado’s Western Slope region will be located on a 6.94-acre site at the intersection of Horizon Drive and North 12th Street. The single-story structure will be about 29,000 square feet. The Grand Junction Colorado Temple will be the third temple in the state, following the Denver and Fort Collins Temples. Colorado is home to over 150,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 300 congregations.

Attendance at both groundbreaking ceremonies will be by invitation only. Additional details will be provided.

Riggy's first talk in primary.
He did great!
He shared some of the miracles of Jesus...
like turning water into wine, healing
a leper, raising a man from the dead.
He said we can't do those kinds
of miracles, even though his
Mom would like it if he could
turn water into Dr. Pepper.
Then he said we can do some of
the things Jesus did, like
be kind,
help others,
tell the truth...
Mary Lu Funk taught in Relief Society. She is an excellent teacher.
The lesson was from Elder Uchtdorf's Conference talk Oct 2021:
"Daily Restoration."
The Art of Walking in a Straight Line
Why do we have such a hard time walking in a straight line?
What is causing YOU to stray?
Do you trust God?
What are you willing to give up to come to Him?
 King Lamoni's Father - Alma 22:15-16
"I will give up all that I possess, yea,
I will forsake my kingdom that
I may receive this great joy."
 King Lamoni's Father - Alma 22:17-18
"I will give away all my sins to know thee..."
What do I sacrifice? "...half of my Kingdom"
What do I gain?         His life
What do I sacrifice? "...I will give up all that I possess"
What do I gain?        Receive the gospel
What do I sacrifice? "...give away all my sins to know thee"     What do I gain?       Redemption

Why do we have such a hard time walking a straight line?
What is causing YOU to stray?
Do you trust God?
Wha are you willing to give up to come to Him?

Most of the changes in our spiritual lives...
 Discusion...
"No matter how strong our spiritual experienes
have been...as human beings we tend to wander."
"...don't give in to that being who is bent on
the destruction of your happiness. He wants
everyone to be miserable like unto himself..."
Why...
More great discussion...
"This time of introspection is an opportunity
for recalibration. It is a GARDEN OF REFLECTION...
Mary Lu wondered why Elder Uchtdorf used the
phrase "GARDEN OF REFLECTION..."
As she pondered about it, she realized how
many times GARDENS were sacred places...
The Garden of Eden...
The Garden of Gethsemane...
The Garden of the Sacred Grove...
The Garden of the Mount of Olives
where Christ will first appear at
                    His Glorious Second Coming...
Thank you, Mary Lu for teaching us so much today.
We are inspired to "walk in a straight line, never give
up" and in our "garden of reflection...align ourselves
with the landmarks God has provided for His children."

It's good to gather with the saints and renew
covenants together and listen to the Word of God!
