Welcome December

                  I flew back with Jen and Jerry

to Minnesota Sun, Nov 29

comes earlier for just 20 more days.

Jen amazes me how she oversees her

five kids--ages 15 down to 6--

all at home for online school.

Seth and Sarah--their twins, age 18,

are getting ready in Provo for their

first semester's finals.

I think we all remember how traumatic

college finals week is!

 SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2020 

Family is Everything... 

 The tree has lights...

                                                                                 Jen drove me to the

                                            Charleton Building of the  

                                               Mayo Clinic Complex

                                                 to get a Covid test.

 The test is negative, so I get to enter

the Mayo Dermatology surgery area on

Tuesday for my procedures.

                                                 Jerry, Ben, and Josh

                                                 were dressed in their

                                                    Sunday best to go

                                                    minister to an elderly widow

                                                    and give her the Sacrament.

                                                                   We then had the sacrament

at home, followed by testimonies,

then their

Sacrament Meeting online

for Rochester 5th Ward.

Then Josh, Liz, and Adam

played Clue.

 Jerry's working on a Christmas

project on the computer.

  Adam and Anna intent on something...

  Ben and Liz went to help...

  Jen

in the kitchen...

 Then Josh...

joined Jen to help...

get dinner ready.

Ben, 15, is a sophomore at

Mayo High School.

Stockings hung by fireplace.

Ready for Sunday dinner...

Family is Everything...

"Heavenly Father, we give thanks

Jen is an outstanding cook,

as is Jerry.

 ...then everyone helps clean up.

Off to minister to another family.

Joshua went with Ben and

his Dad. They had also gone

this morning to help an elderly widow.

 Suki had a free ride.

A very nice Sunday with our youngest

daughter, Jen, her husband Jerry,

and their five children who are

at home.

Their twins, Seth and Sarah, will be

home on Dec. 18 after they finish

their first semester's finals

at BYU.

 *** *I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.

At the end of this December 6th,

I pray you have had a

restful , peaceful, and spiritual

                    ...and now flies to Finland on Dec. 10th,

                                           three days after your birthday.

Walt just put on long-term hospice.

                                                     Dr. Jerry Brewer did surgery on me today

                                    at Mayo Clinic - Rochester, Minnesota

                                       He got all the borders of the squamous

                                        cell carcinoma from the right side of

                                           my nose and the top of my head.

                                             Thank you, Dr. Brewer for being     

                                               the best at what you do!

                                                                                                    

                                   Jen took good care of me back at their home.

Ross & Karen came.

Haven't seen them for ages!

Karen brought delicious 

carmel corn she and Leslie made.

And, BYU pulled off their 10th win!

28-14 over San Diago...but it wasn't

for sure until the last minute!

 We always enjoy having the

Cheney's over for dinner.

And another SERENDIPITY...

Bill & Pat Burk came to see me.

They were Executive Secretries to

the Area Presidency in the

South America South Area

when we served in Argentina,

Uruguay and Paraguay 2008-2010.

Then they were President and Matron

of the Guatemala Temple, where the

temple missionaries for our San Salvador

El Salvador Temple--Lon and Nancy Thompson--

served in that temple, and Lon was called

as counselor to President Burk.

So great to see them!

I think they live in Salem, Utah or

thereabouts.

It's always so nice to see those friends

we served missions with!

The days are almost to hit the

even mark...

...then start getting longer.

It's almost two years since this 80th birthday.

                    ...but I believed in Santa until

                                  I was age ten in 5th grade.
