Traces of Time . . . Week of July 20-26, 2020

Traces of Time . . .
(To see last week's blog post--scroll down to the end of this week, then the Week of July 13-July 19, 2020 which has about our WEPR FAMILY REUNION will be there. If it's not, hit "Older Posts." at the bottom right.)
I've been delayed for a couple of weeks.
The powers that control "Blogger" have
changed the format for the "better they say."
But it's been much worse for my trying to
use it. I wish they had left good enough alone!

Family is Everything…
 Marci came to help Walt.

 Karen, Walt's long-term hospice
nurse, comes every
Monday and Thursday.
Walt had me call her this morning
early because he thought he
was having a stroke.
His only symptom was that he
couldn't stand up.
He had none of the other symptoms...
slurred speech, arms not being held
out evenly, face drooping on one side.
He did not have a stroke.

My sister Janice sent this photo of us
from 1978 or '79 with this comment:
"A gem I just found today. What were
we thinking with those hairdos?

Family is Everything…
On Pioneer Day, Julie and John
found a "handicap accesible" camp grounds
up American Fork Canyon.
They took us there this afternoon,
after their 4th Sunday 9:00-9:45 a.m. Church
meeting at the Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward.
(There were 73 who came to Church, John said.)
Steve pushed Grampa in the wheelchair.
Gary pushed me in the wheelchair. Thanks, sons.
Everyone quickly got everything set up.
 Gary brought a book, but
Grampa preferred looking at
the natural surroundings.
Steve's torn hamstring from two weeks
ago is a lot better from physical
therapy twice a week.
Natalie got back from hiking at
Table Rock in Wyoming with
her sister, Angie, and other friends...
...just in time to come with us.
 Gary and...
 ...Steve loved discussing playing
basketball, wallyball, and other sports.
Steve's favorite is tennis...he plays
each Saturday with his friend, Brett.
Gary brought some chips that have pepper
in addition to sea salt. I'd never heard of them.
Steve, who peppers everything--a lot--
knows all about them!
Jackson got a great fire going to
roast the hot dogs on.
Thanks for roasting me a hot dog, Steve.
Jackson learned how to start a fire
from flint and steel from his
Boy Scout leader, his Dad.
 Thanks for a yummy picnic.
 Julie and John,
It's always nice to be out doors.
Jackson, Maddie, Riggy, and Jacee
love these outings to the canyon.
We are thankful to Heavenly Father for
our wonderful grandchildren, and for
this beautiful earth He has created
for us to live on.
 A mother-son moment...
Riggy, Max, and Julie went on a hike,
after Jackson had also taken
Riggy on a hike.
I didn't remember seeing this bucket.
This I saw that it was a
Fire Extinguisher Bucket.
We all want to leave the mountain canyon
as clean, safe and as beautiful as we found it.
We were  by a nice creek.
Loved hearing the sound of it
by our picnic grounds.
Thanks, Gary, for pushing
me in the wheelchair.
*** *** ***
We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ
that makes this Great Plan operational.
At the end of this July 26th,
we pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
We share these truths as our testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.
*** *** ***
Of these truths we testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
