Family is Everything...
We bicycled again...
We take a photo of us together
in the mirror when no one
else is at the exercise room
when we are.
We are thankful for the
handicap ramp,
and thankful when
no one parks their
bicycle there.
We know these warm autumn
days are about to come to an end.
We were delighted to have Kimble
and Carter come to talk with
us after they took Riggy
swimming with them in
the residential natural-
hot-springs pool.
Kimble flew in from New Jersey
last night to be here a week
with his brother before
Carter is gone for
two years.
Kimble is in training at Harbor May
to be a rescue swimmer for
the Coast Guard.
 Gary is here for our
Wednesday night movie.
 Walt's acting weird because
we watched a
scary movie.
It's always fun to be together.
  We have popcorn and sometimes
a soda or ice cream.
We watched
"The Bride of Frankenstein"
from 1935. Gary said it was
one of the first sequels.
Information from Wikipedia:
"Bride of Frankenstein is a 1935 American science-fiction horror film, the first sequel to Universal Pictures' 1931 hit Frankenstein. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest sequels in cinematic history, with many fans and critics considering it to be an improvement on the original Frankenstein. As with the first film, Bride of Frankenstein was directed by James Whale and stars Boris Karloff as the Monster.[3] The sequel features Elsa Lanchester [who in true life is the wife of the actor Charles Lawton] in the dual role of Mary Shelley and the Monster's mate at the end of the film. Colin Clive reprises his role as Henry Frankenstein, and Ernest Thesiger plays the role of Doctor Septimus Pretorius.
"The movie starts as an immediate sequel to the events that concluded the earlier film, and is rooted in a subplot of the original Mary Shelley novel, Frankenstein (1818). In the film, a chastened Henry Frankenstein abandons his plans to create life, only to be tempted and finally coerced by his old mentor Dr. Pretorius, along with threats from the Monster, into constructing a mate for the Monster.
"The preparation to film the sequel began shortly after the premiere of the first film, but script problems delayed the project. Principal photography began in January 1935, with creative personnel from the original returning in front of and behind the camera. Bride of Frankenstein was released to critical and popular acclaim, although it encountered difficulties with some state and national censorship boards. Since its release the film's reputation has grown, and it has been hailed as Whale's masterpiece. In 1998, the film was added to the United States National Film Registry, having been deemed "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.".

Happy Birthday to Natalie Petersen.

Family is Everything...
I was working late Friday night to
catch my blog up, and hit something
on the photos on my
cell phone and it deleted
all my photos for the
past three days,
except for one from
tonight's ward party.
We did bicycle this afternoon.
Here's the photo from the
Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward
 Fall Festival Chili Cookoff
...I don't know who won.
I had some fun photos from the
party tonight. We enjoyed
sitting by Bishop Mardesich's
Dad and Mom--
Joe and MaryAnn Mardesich
who had just gotten back today
from her 60-year class reunion
in San Pedro, California.
It was great to get to know
them better.
Judy Duntson also sat by
us, and we always love
talking with Judy.
Then, later, Linda Hartley,
came in from outside and
sat with us. She is such a
sweetheart. She went over
and had Art McOmber come
over and sit by us while Mark
was outside helping his two
grandchildren join in the
activities for the kids.

Family is Everything...
Carter's Mission Farewell...
Elder Carter Petersen
 Carter's Mission Farewell
The weather turned cold and snowy.
We had Gary take our photo when
we came out of Sacrament Meeting
for the Harvest Hills 1st Ward
where Steve and Natalie live now.
We didn't take coats and were cold!
They decided to have the luncheon
at the CrossFit Gym.
It turned out well to serve
the 145-150 who came.
 Natalie's was to have everyone
served within 15 minutes.
With lines going on both sides...
I think it happened.
 Steve welcomed everyone and
asked Carter's friend who was
first in line to give the
blessing on the food.
We were happy to have Janie
there with Michael and Sam.
Heidi came over from Orem
where she lives now.
Shawn was driving back from
a ballroom competition in
Las Vegas with some of
his BYU-I dancers.
We love being with family at these
milestone events.
Gary is always so helpful.
 Carter did a little CrossFit...
 We loved being with this
grandson--Carter.
He gave an outstanding talk
in Sacrament Meeting!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2019
Here are John and Jacee at the
Cousins' Pumpkin Carving night.
 Riggy concentrated hard on
carving his pumpkin.
This has been a tradition for
many years.
 Gary decorated his sugar cookie...
...a purple bat.
Isaac and Gary always have a
fun Jack-o-Lantern...
as does everyone~
David and Julie, Sam and Will
came from Draper tonight.
Sam spoke in their
stake conference
today, so they were not able to
come to the Sacrament Meeting
here.
 Kimble, Carter, and Steve
are having a great week together.

We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ
that makes this Great Plan operational.
Message from an Apostle this month:
At the end of this October 27th,
we pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
We share these truths as our testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.
*** *** ***
Of these truths we testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
