Walt's ready to go to physical therapy
this morning.
We saw good friends,
Leonard and Deborah Beck.
She ruptured a disc teaching
a yoga class the early part of October.
Leonard said to me: "So now I've resolved
to never do yoga or even exercise."
Walt tried to chop down the dead daisies.
It made his back hurt
too much to continue.
As soon as he sits down,
the back pain goes away.
We can't do everything
we'd like to do.
But what we can do, we
keep plugging along and doing.
We are always happy to
be with Ross and Karen Taylor,
our good friends who moved from
Burley in almost 13 years ago from Burley
to Riverton, Utah.

We drove early to Twin Falls
for an appointment with my
endocronologist, only to discover
that he had gone to a medical conference.
They had tried to call us but
the call didn't go through.
(We are having trouble with our
home cell phone #.)
So we made "lemonade" out of the lemon
and went to the Magic Valley Mall
where we had an orange julius after
getting the prongs on my ring checked
at Jensen Jewelers.
Oh, and I got a Christmas sweat shirt at Macy's.
We did the 1:00 session
at the Twin Falls Temple
with Dale and Connie,
then had lunch at a new restaurant
that open last week in Twin: The Black Bear
Not overly impressed.
It was raining and dark when we got home.

- saw Katie in 8 diff dances; Heidi produced...
got to be with Janie & Shawn, Ashley, Michael, Heidi & Jordan,
Katie and Taitum. (Parker out of town till Sat afternoon--he will
see Katie perform tonight at the closing performance. I predict
he may stand up in the audience and announce: "That best
dancer is my wife!")

Fri--Walked thru Festive of Trees for 20 min in Burley; Drove to Utah.
Best part of day was seeing Jacob win his Volleyball Tourney game;
Got to be with Jacob, Gary, Julie. Had a late supper at Los Hermanos.
Today we drove on to Utah to go to
Jake's volleyball tourney...
They won the early games
and the next set, also
so will play in the
Championship brackett tomorrow morning.

Jake played so well in his
championship game today...
but his team lost.
However, they are second place in the
volleyball tournament of 14 teams!
Congratulations, Jacob.

And it was a bonus to have Julie and Rigdon on.
Picked up Isaac for his birthday lunch.
Isaac was super excited about getting
a hover board from his Dad.
He's wanted one for more than a year.
Isaac had a fun birthday lunch at Zupa's
along with with his cousins Maddie, Sam, and Will,
and Uncles David and Steve; his Dad Gary,
and his grandparents--us.

Back in Pleasant Grove we had brownies and ice cream with
Isaac and Maddie, and watched Isaac buzz around on his
"hoover board" from his Dad. And then he taught Maddie how
to ride on it.
While Gary drove Maddie back home to Saratoga Springs and
then Isaac back home, Walt and I watched the end of the
3rd quarter and 4th quarter of the BYU losing football game
to University of Massachusetts--10-16.
First losing season for BYU in 46 years (since 1971).
Sad....37 injuries of Cougars and down to 4th QB
--Joe Critchlow--a freshman.
Maddie and Isaac...
Gary served brownies and ice cream
but couldn't find the candles
he'd gotten a couple of weeks ago...
so they just lit the metal fire lighters
and Isaac blew them out
after we sang ♫♪"Happy Birthday."♫♪
Julie, Jacee, Jackson, and Maddie met
us at Corner Canyon High School in Draper
to see Anna, Sam, and Will
perform in
"The Little Mermaid"
It was a fun play to watch.
I left the camera card at Gary's, so took photos
on Walt's cell phone.
He's using his phone right now to read scriptures,
so I'll download them later.

and nutricious breakfast...
I sent a quick e-mail before
I packed the computers.
Gary made the blender whole
wheat pancakes from the
wheat kernals.
Delishioso...
We're headed back to Idaho...
The drive time goes fast when we're
listening to an audio book...
The Noel Diary ended just as
we pulled into Burley.
It was written and read by
Richard Paul Evans
We made good time...3 hours, 7 minutes
from Pleasant Grove to Burley,
including the bathroom break
at Tremonton.
There isn't a lot of traffic on Sundays.
We had a nap, a quick snack,
then went to the 3rd and final
Meridian Temple Dedication session
at three o'clock.
A temple dedication is always uplifting.
As Bonnie Fronk said to us:
"It lifts us to a spiritual high."

MERIDIAN — President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, dedicated the Meridian Idaho Temple on Sunday.
Prior to the dedication, President Uchtdorf conducted the symbolic cornerstone ceremony that signifies the construction is complete and the new temple is ready to be dedicated and ready for sacred use.
“The Lord has decided through his living prophet even President Monson to put a house of the Lord in this place,” said President Uchtdorf. Speaking of President Thomas S. Monson, he said, “He is aware what is happening here and is grateful for your prayers and your participation in this marvelous and wonderful work.”
Joining President Uchtdorf were Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles; Bishop Gérald Caussé, Presiding Bishop of the Church; Elder Ulisses Soares of the Presidency of the Seventy; and Elder Kevin R. Duncan and Elder Edward Dube of the Seventy.
Plans to build the temple were announced by President Thomas S. Monson in April 2011.
The temple’s dome has an octagonal shape covered with titanium shingles that change color depending on the sunlight, from brown to gold to tan. Stone used inside the temple is marble quarried from Egypt, Italy and Spain.
President Uchtdorf referred to his experience as an aviator and how meridian has so much to do with navigation in following an exact course. “When we look at the terrestrial navigation, which we find with the help of the meridians around this globe, we are also guided towards the celestial navigation. Make sure that you're following the right path in life.”
The Gem State has four other temples located in Boise, Rexburg, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls. A sixth temple, in Pocatello, was announced by President Monson last April.
There are about 426,000 Latter-day Saints in Idaho. The temple will serve more than 60,000 Latter-day Saints in 16 stakes (a stake is similar to a diocese in the number of congregations) in the greater Boise area, including a few stakes in eastern Oregon.
A choir of Latter-day Saints from within the temple district in Idaho and Oregon provided sacred music for the cornerstone ceremony.
As part of the dedication activities, 6,000 local youth participated on Saturday, November 18, in a cultural celebration honoring Idaho and Church history. The musical production followed the theme “Be Strong, Steadfast and Immovable” and featured a 1,100-voice choir and 4,900 dancers depicting the history and culture of the Treasure Valley. The celebration was held at the Taco Bell Arena on the Boise State University campus in Boise.
President Uchtdorf told the youth that he brought the love of President Thomas S. Monson to them and said, “Wherever you go that because of your faithfulness and your dedication to the Lord you are a treasure to the people around you.
“We will return and report to President Monson that here in the wonderful Treasure Valley is a great treasure of young people of heaven.”
During a three-week open house in October and November, more than 208,000 people visited and toured the temple, including clergy, community leaders and residents living near the temple, as well as members of the Church.
Latter-day Saint temples differ from meetinghouses or chapels where members meet for Sunday worship services. Temples are considered “houses of the Lord” where Jesus Christ’s teachings are reaffirmed through marriage, baptism and other ordinances that unite families for eternity. Inside, members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to serve Jesus Christ and their fellow man.

We loved hearing from Prophets and Apostles this afternoon during the Dedication of the new Meridian Idaho Temple.
We have temples because the true Church was restored in 1830 by the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Priesthood ordinances were also restored, along with the temple ordinances.
Heavenly Father lives and loves each one of us.
Jesus Christ is His Beloved Son and also loves each one of us.
They Both know us each individually by our names.
The Book of Mormon is true and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ.
The Bible is a Testament of Jesus Christ.
Thomas S. Monson is the living Prophet on the Earth today.
We share this testimony at the end of this Sabbath Day.
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
