This week in El Salvador...

Week of June 2 to June 8...
Monday, June 2
A rainy morning to drive Daniel & Kelly over to the Hope & Love Children's Home.  This began their second week of cooking until the regular cook returns next Tuesday.
We did some grocery shopping then spent most of the day preparing for the Family Home Evening. Walt chose to talk about temples.
Kirtland Temple* - Dedicated27 Mar 1836 by Joseph Smith.
*No longer in use by the Church
Nauvoo Temple**  - Dedicated 30Apr 1846 by Joseph Young (private); 1May 1846 Orson Hyde (public)
**Original destroyed; rebuilt in 2002.

Chronology after the Kirtland and Nauvoo Temples:

#1 - St. George Utah Temple - Dedicated 1 May 1877 by Daniel H. Wells
#2 - Logan Utah Temple - Dedicated 17 May1884 by John Taylor
#3 - Manti Utah Temple - Dedicated 17 May 1888 by Wilford Woodruff (private); 21 May 1888 (Prayer read by Lorenzo Snow, public).
#4 Salt Lake Temple - Dedicated 6 Apr 1893 by Wilford Woodruff.
There are currently 143 dedicated temples operating.
I am still working on translating the notes from Walt's FHE about Temples because it was all in Spanish.
Here is some information on temples that I just looked up:
"For Mormons, temples are the world’s most sacred spaces, places where heaven and earth meet.
"In Mormon temples, Latter-day Saints learn about Jesus Christ, the purpose of life and the importance of marriage and family.
"The Mormon temple is a place where the most cherished human relationships are made eternal. Mormon couples are joined together in marriage in a temple ceremony called a sealing. Church members believe this bond unites the couple and any children they have together forever."

We had a great week working in the San Salvador El Salvador Temple.
Sunday, June 8...
Happy Birthday to my sister, my only sibling...
   Janice Albertson Robertson - 65

Today we visited the Alturias Ward in the LaLibertad and spoke in Sacrament Meeting.
We pray you have had a peaceful and restful Sabbath Day.
And we hope each of you will have the blessing of being sealed as a family together forever in the temple.
The Atonement of the Savior makes all things possible.
We love and worship Jesus Christ, the Redeemer of the World.
