The Big Finale

Institute is one of the highlights

of my week. I love learning eternal

truths. Camie is a

phenomanal teacher.

And so is Betsy.

Camie told us

all goodbye.

She is being

released because

she has been called

into our ward

Young Women's presidency.

We had 21 at Institute today.

Institute

This is our last class

for the 2022-2023 season.

Institute

Russ took this photo

so I could be in it.

Sorry that the frame on my

camera is a little off

and the outside shows

more than the camera takes.

Sorry Betsy didn't show on

the side.

Institute

I'm leaving all class

photos in so you can

choose the one where your

eyes are not closed or

you like your smile better.

Copy and save whatever

you'd like as a remembrance

of the incredible Institute

class we've been blessed

to be a part of.

Institute

Russ Jones, Betsy's

husband is a big help always.

Thank you Camie

for teaching

us in Institute since

January 7, 2020

Here's that blog

Family is Everything…

Institute resumed today after the
Holiday break from November 20-January 7.

  Institute was Chapters 15, 16, and 17
of Saints - 1816-1846
The Standard of Truth
taught today by Sue Spencer.
The new co-teacher, Camie Williams,
from the Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward
was introduced.

(minus that time that

the Covid pandemic closed

everything down).

Institute -- We'll see you again in

September for a new semester and

new course.  Betsy asked us to send

her any choices you have in mind for the

new course of study.

The Board of Trustees of Brigham Young University–Idaho (BYU–Idaho) has named Elder Alvin F. Meredith III (known by friends as “Trip”) as the school’s 18th president. He will succeed Henry J. Eyring, who has led the university since 2017, on August 1, 2023.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, made the announcement during a BYU–Idaho devotional in Rexburg, Idaho, on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

“I rejoice that in the months and years ahead, you will be blessed by the leadership and influence of President Alvin F. Meredith and Sister Jennifer Meredith,” Elder Christofferson said to thousands of students assembled in the BYU–Idaho Center for the weekly Tuesday devotional.

Elder Christofferson praised President and Sister Eyring for their service.

   Our Wednesday night movie was:

My Mom's favorite movie--

"Topper" from 1937.

Wikipedia said this was the first

black and white movie to be

colorized. We just found

the black and white version.

I always enjoy it when Gary comes on

Wednesday evenings to watch a movie

together.  Instead of meeting with his

older single adults group Thursday,

he will be at a work retreat in Park City.

this morning.

I have not seen this artist's

Savior before.

CHRIST – Speaking with Him - Quote from Jeffrey R. Holland

I am not certain just what our experience will be on Judgment Day, but I will be very surprised if at some point in that conversation, God does not ask us exactly what Christ asked Peter: “Did you love me?” I think He will want to know if in our very mortal, very inadequate, and sometimes childish grasp of things, did we at least understand one commandment, the first and greatest commandment of them all—“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.

And if at such a moment we can stammer out, “Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee,” then He may remind us that the crowning characteristic of love is always loyalty. “If ye love me, keep my commandments,” Jesus said. So we have neighbors to bless, children to protect, the poor to lift up, and the truth to defend. We have wrongs to make right, truths to share, and good to do. In short, we have a life of devoted discipleship to give in demonstrating our love of the Lord. We can’t quit and we can’t go back. After an encounter with the living Son of the living God, nothing is ever again to be as it was before..

The month of  May brings

 "last day" of many things...

2023 May 19 - Katie’s post about

Taitum’s last day of first grade in Texas

Tait’s last day 1st grade! We got to watch her celebrate with her best friend and teachers! Walking out the door I had the realization that we found and completed what we moved across the country for. A place perfect for our Tait. She loves school so much! She always tells us Hosp Elementary is the perfect school with perfect teachers and perfect friends! 😭I’m beyond grateful that we listened to what was best for our family. It’s had hard moments being away from all we had in Idaho but today was a reminder that it was worth it. 💛

suburb of Dallas, Texas-- Frisco

 Rendezvousing with Urgent Care today.

...because of a weird red spot

that appeared under my big

left toe this morning.

Spencer was the P.A. today.

He said it looked like a

blood blister and wouldn't

be a problem unless it

opened and then could

become infected.  He told

me to let my podiatrist, who

checks my diabetic feet every

nine weeks, see it next week.

However,

what he was more concerned

about was my oxygen level

being only 88. It should be

in the high 90's.

He heard something suspicious

in my lungs so ordered a

chest x-ray.

It came back comparable

to my chest x-ray from

last year.

He said if my oxygen level

didn't improve, to go straight

to the E.R. where they could

give me oxygen.

Julie brought me an

oximeter from CVS.

 Great Plan operational.
At the end of this May 21st,

I pray you have had a

I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.
He loves us just
as we are at this very moment.
He knows what our potential is.

Daily Scripture: Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers. - Doctrine and Covenants 112:10
Daily Quote: Put yourself in a position to begin having experiences with Him. Humble yourself. Pray to have eyes to see God’s hand in your life and in the world around you. Ask Him to tell you if He is really there—if He knows you. Ask Him how He feels about you. And then listen. - Russell M. Nelson
