Today Sunrise: 5:27 a.m. Sunset: 8:34 p.m.Riggy saw the banana I had to slice into mycereal and decided he wanted a banana, too.Since the remaining six bananas were really ripe,Julie was happy to break off two of them. Then she laughed and said to Riggy andhis friend, Bridger: "You two look likea couple of monkeys."They were all toohappy to play the part forGrama's photo. While sorting through my files, I tried watchingthe movie that came on the BYU channel afterthe BYU SportsNation: "Dunkirk." It was asconfusing as the first time Walt and I saw itat the Burley theater in 2017, so I turned it off.It does have beautiful photography as I remembered.war movies ever made. It grossed$526 Million at the box office!

Dunkirk portrays the evacuation with little dialogue, as Nolan sought instead to create suspense from cinematography and music. format film stock. Dunkirk has extensive practical effects, and employed thousands of extras as well as historic boats from the evacuation, and period aeroplanes.
It is the highest-grossing World War II film, making $526 million worldwide. Dunkirk received praise for its screenplay, direction, musical score, sound effects, and cinematography; some critics called it Nolan's best work, and one of the greatest war films. Family is Everything... Today Sunrise: 5:31 a.m. Sunset: 8:30 p.m.One of our dear friends in Burley had a family reunion this week.Forrest and Kathryn Hall Family...Forrest has "graduated" of heaven,Kathryn is in her 90's. She served in the Uruguay/Paraguay Mission a couple of years before Walt did. They always enjoyed talking with each other about their mission days there. I just saved the photo of Kathryn with her six children. Gary, which one is your classmate, Brian?Ellen Hall Judd, on the front left, did an internship in Walt's medical office for her P.A. degree. She lived in Wendell for a while and became very good friends with Walt's sister, Phyllis.would pick me up on Saturday at 4:30 to go to Denny'sfor dinner.William wanted to come but a friend invitedhim to go to Bear Lake...I'd say that's muchmore exciting for a 12-year old!He can have dinner with his 82-y-oI then got to review the "Come, Follow Me" sections for July 5-11, and July 12-18: Doctrine and Covenants 76-80.Then I watched a couple Episodes of "The Blacklist," whichJennifer told us in May was an interesting series. I'm to Series 4, Episode 13. It's a fast lane crime drama, with FBI catching the bad guys. It makes me wonder how much of this is really going on in the world. As the Book of Mormon calls these criminals: "Gadianton Robbers."SUNDAY, JULY 18, 2021
Family is Everyhing... We had three great talks in Sacrament Meeting today:Mo Cheney, age 18, spoke about "How to gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon." He shared that he has gained his testimony by small things done daily: read scriptures, read Book of Mormon, pray, and now he can share this testimony with others.~~~~~~~~~~~Curtis Allen said as a kid he read the Book of Mormon, prayed, went to Church, but he still had doubts. He knows Heavenly Father lives, Jesus Christ is His Son, Joseph Smith restored the Gospel. When a teacher in class would say: "You all know the story of Alma...so. But at that time he didn't know the story of Alma and he felt lost. Bishop Cheney just shared a talk by Elder Jeffrey Holland that had this line: "You don't have to know everything..." This has made Curtis feel so much better, that it's okay not to know everything. He closed with "I'm not the best at regular family home evening, or reading scriptures every day but I have a testimony and can stand before you today and say that Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. And I pray for this last thing--that we can all hang on even though we don't know everything."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~We had an intermediate hymn...a pioneer one...Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel... it was 11:25 when it ended.~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~Brett Sterrett told the ward members that he loves each one. "I have 15-min worth of stories to tell you in the 3 minutes that I have." He shared a story about a blind man who sat on the side of a busy sidewalk with a sign: "I'm blind. Please help." A few passersby tossed a coin in the cup he held out, but not very many. A lady came by, took his sign and wrote something different on the back, then gave it to him to hold up. He touched her shoe before she went on her way after she had put a coin in his cup. After that, many, many more people put coins in his cup. At the end of the day, the lady came back to see how he had done. He felt her shoe and could tell it was the same person. He asked her to read what she had written."It's a beautiful day and I can't see it."Words make a difference. He said that he has a testimony of prayer. He said he gained his testimony of Joseph Smith and The First Vision when as a new missionary in Japan, his senior companion and great mentor had him teach about The First Vision and the Spirit overwhelmingly entered the home of this humble family. When they were riding their bikes back to their apartment he asked his companion what was different about tonight. "It was amazing!" his companion said. The Holy Ghost testified of the Prophet Joseph Smith! Brother Sterrett testified that from then on he realized that the Holy Ghst is in our life constantly.(He mentioned that his son, Riley, is now serving in Japan, just a mile from where he gave that discussion he told about that he had as a new missionary.)He closed with his sitting on the plane yesterday by a 75-year-old man whose wife had just plassed away. He was so sad and bewildered. Brett was able to explain to him where his wife was now and about the Plan of Salvation. Brother Sterrett said he hoped we would all be able to share our Testimony with others.~~~ ~~~ ~~~ For having only been given less than a day's notice to speak in Church as the Bishop had explained at the beginning there was a mix-up on the assignments for today's speaker's--many later said how strong the spirit was and how touched they were.Bishop Cheney said before announcing the closing song of I Believe in Christ, "reading and praying make a big difference."~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~Then we were taught about Doctrine and Covenants 76 inSunday School class by Mark Beecher...with touches of 77-80.He began by showing the quote by Joseph Smith:"Could you gaze into heaven... their eyes, then if they felt like they would go tothe Celestial Kingdom, to raise their hand. After he had counted he had us open our eyes, and said as he wrote on the board, "Just as I wasafraid of: Only 23/60 raised their hands."I hope the 76th Section willshow why each one of you 60 will go to theCelestial Kingdom.
He gave us Matthew 5:48 vs Luke 6:36...",,.be ye perfect, even as your Father whichis in heaven is perfect.""Be ye therefore merciful, as your Fatheralso is merciful." ...emphasis on being merciful.Alma 34:15 "And thus he shall bring salvation to all those who shall believe on his name; this being the intent of this last sacrifice, to bing about the bowels of mercy, which overpowereth justice, and bringeth about means unto men that they may have faith unto repentance."~~~ ~~~ ~~~John `14:2"In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~There was one last scripture12:28 but I didn't get the chapter or section's name....
In closing, President Beecher went to the board and erased the23/ and wrote 60/ making it 60/60.The spirit is always strong during his class, and again floodedin even stronger during his closing testimony. We are thankful for his inspired lessons.~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~Paul and Dottie Thayn helped me get my walkerout of the car when I parked to go into Church.David South held the doors for me as I cameout of Church, and he took this photo for me. I so appreciate everyonebeing so helpful and friendly. The Sunday before we moved from Burley, Bishop and Sister Gerrattcame to tell us goodbye. The Bishop said he would like to giveus a blessing before we moved. One thing heblessed me with was to make new friends in the ward wewould be in. I remember thinking: "I'm too old to make new friends, and I don't really want to." Was I ever wrong! It has been wonderful tohave new friends here, and a blessing in my life...especially sinceI am now (temporarly) without my best friend of 59 years sinceWalt "graduated" to heaven almost eleven months ago.My long-time Burley friends are still precious to me,but so are these new friends in Saratoga Springs!I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THE PLAN OF SALVATION AND THE ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST THAT MAKES THIS GREAT PLAN OPERATIONAL.
At the end of this July 18th,I pray you have had arestful , peaceful, and spiritualSabbath Day...
I share these truths as my testimony to you...Daily Scripture: But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. - Isaiah 43:1
Daily Quote: You may not have heard the Lord call you by name, but He knows each one of you and He knows your name. - Elaine S. Dalton
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence. He loves us just as we are at this very moment.*** *** ***Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all. *** *** ***Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration. He is the Restorer of all things.President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world. *** *** ***The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.*** *** ***The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today. *** *** ***Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

TUESDAY, JULY 20, 2021 Family is Everyhing... Walt and I felt so blessed to be able to have children. We had a daughter first, then a son. I remember driving homefrom the hospital in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and saying to Walt: "It's so nice to have a little girl and a little boy!" Then we had another boy, then another boy, so it was nice to have another little girl for Janie to have a sister. Then we rounded out our family with another boy and another girl. We said: "Seven is heaven!" and called it good.
Daily Scripture: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. - Proverbs 22:6
Daily Quote: He entrusts his spirit children to earthly parents who provide a mortal body for them through the miracle of physical birth and gives to parents the sacred opportunity and responsibility to love, protect, teach, and to bring them up in light and truth so they may one day, through the atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ, return to our Father’s presence. - M. Russell Ballard
45 years ago in 1976...getting ready in our red, white, and blue for the Bicentenniall year of 1976.BYU for her freshman year, he wonderedto himself: "Have I taught her everything sheneeds to know? Have I prepared her to havefaith in Jesus Christ...to be 'brave and strong and true'?"And then he felt the same as we drove Gary, Steve,David, Julie, Brian, and Jen to BYU in Provo. Now as they are adults with children of their own,we have been blessed by each one for being so kind, caring, and compassionate to us.I can see in my mind's eye how Walt is smilingdown on them from heaven for taking such good care of me.And I am thankful for each one, plustheir wonderful spouses and children.Thank you children and grandchildren! Here's the photo from our WEPR(Walt and Eileen Petersen Family Reunion)the last time all together with Grampa PetersenJuly18, 2012034 days before he died.
