Family is Everything…
We had a delightful visit from our darling cousins...
Audrey Petersen Hibler, Lareen Petersen Fox, and Karla
Petersen McReynolds. They are the daughters of Stan and Vida Petersen. Stan was Grampa Ray's brother.

We love to have the flag...
...to honor our Vetrans.
   Veterans' Day - 2019
We didn't go to Family Home Evening
for the Empty Nesters
 at Cliff and Judy
Duntson's home tonight.
Walt's legs were too weak
for him to be able to walk.
But Tammy Ballard brought
us the delicious tarts, cupcakes
 and cookies that were served.
This photo was taken after
we'd eaten over half of them.
How sweet of Tammy. Thank you
for being so thoughtful.
They watched the DVD for
pages 19-22 in
"Living a Spiritually
Centered Life."

Walt and Eileen Petersen, Allen and
Jennie Andersen, Linda Hartley,
Andrew Fletcher, Nadine and
Dean Fletcher, Mark and Tammy

Family is Everything…
  Marci helped Walt
start the day.

  Institute was supposed to
be Chapters 13-14 but
Sister Aldredge somehow
has written down
Chapter 12, so we had
a second lesson on
this Chapter of
Saints 1815-1846
The Standard of the Church
 We always learn a lot.
Click on to enlarge and
read if you want, otherwise just
scroll down past the lesson...

We are blessed to be able
to go to Institute.
Walt had an appointment this afternoon
with his Utah Home Health and Hospice
physician, Dr. Brice Swenson.
Walt's knees often hurt because they
are just bone on bone...
...so Dr. Swenson injected
them with steroids which
eases the pain a lot.
 We stopped at Wendy's along
State Street on the way
home from Orem.
We got to bicycle for a while.
Still enjoying the
roses and lilies.

Family is Everything…
I cooked Walt a big pancake
this morning.
Karen, the Home Health
and Hospice nurse came today.
We still get to see these
beautiful roses and lilies...
We watched the movie "The Butler"
from 2013
that we had started to watch in Rexburg last Saturday night, but hadn't finished.
We really enjoy these movie nights with Gary.
We've decided our theme for this
month will be "civil rights."
We plan to go see "Harriet Tubman"
at our new Saratoga Springs
"Fat Cats" theater.
Thanks, Gary.
Gary's doing a
"No shave November."

Family is Everything…
Marci came to help Walt.
 We bicycled today...
but Walt only lasted 20 minutes.

The leaves got all raked up.
 How unusual to have this
"shirt sleeve" weather in November.
The temperature has been
15 degrees above the normal
47 degrees for this month.

Family is Everything…
We just hung out at home today...
I worked on my Mom's life story a little and on our blog.
Steve came by to see us
late this afternoon. It's great
to be close to family.
Here are some of the photos that
Steve took to digitalize...
Our four Eagle Scouts:
Gary, Brian, David, Steve.
Our four lettermen for
Burley High School:
Clockwise: Gary, Steve, Brian,
and David.

Our four sons played football
for Burley Jr. High School
and Burley High School...
all of them had the #7.
Gary, Class of 1983.
Steven, Class of 1985.

Steve, Class of 1985.
David, Class of 1988.
David, Class of 1988.
Brian, Class of 1991.
Julie and Jen both
played for Burley Jr. High
and Burley High School
volleyball and basketball teams,
plus in Jr. High they were
cheerleaders.
Julie, Class of 1989.
Jen, Class of 1992.

Other family photos that
Julie has brought over
from the storage unit...
This is one of the paintings
my Mom--Verna Huffaker Albertson
painted in her later years.

Later that afternoon, Anne Vincent,
the Nurse Practioner for the
Utah Home Health and Hospice,
came to visit Walt to see if he
still qualifies for long-term hospice.
He does because he cannot walk
without assistance and he can't
do many other things alone.
Also, his memory and cognition
are diminishing each day.
 We were so surprised when
Riggy came in and showed
us that he had gotten his
first real hair cut.
John had been with him all day
while Julie, Jacee, and Maddie
were at the Wilkinson Center for
the BYU Ballroom Competitions.
So John and Rigdon had a
"Father-Son Outing" to
the barber shoppe.
Maddie was excited that she and
her partner had gotten call backs
clear to the semi-finals in a
high-school-age category.
Maddie's in 7th grade.
Here are some of the photos from
their day at the BYU Ballroom events:
Jacee and her partner, Christian.
Showing Jacee's full beautiful ball gown.
Jacee and Christian in
their Latin outfits.
Maddie and Ethan are partners
in this Fall
BYU DanceSport Championships

Shout Out to Extended Family...
Our niece, Heather Petersen Lee
said this about her niece's play:
Cheyenne is the granddaughter of
Walt's brother, Dale Petersen.
She is the daughter of
Cliff and Ruth Petersen Cole.
"Bountiful High School's production of Les Miserables is one of the best, if not the best high school musical I have ever seen!
Not a weak link in the entire cast.
We all cried our eyes out and couldn't wait to give Cheyenne a huge hug when it was over. She blew everyone away.
If you possibly can, I strongly recommend
you go see it.
They will perform it again
Monday, Nov 18, Friday Nov 22,
Saturday, Nov 23 and Monday, Nov. 25.
It is SO worth your $4.00 ticket."
Here's Cheyene with her Mom,
Ruth Petersen Cole.
Here's some of the family who
supported her:
Front: McKenna, cousin;
 Cheyenne, Rachel, cousin.
Next row: Heather, aunt; Trisha, aunt.
Last Row: Cliff, Cheyenne's dad,
Nathan, uncle; Ridge, brother,
and Trevan, cousin.
Way to go, Cheyene.

Family is Everything…
Walt fell at five o'clock this morning.
He couldn't tell if he had broken
anything. He was afraid he may
have "smashed" (his word) one
of his total hip replacements.
When I tried to help him get up,
he said it was hurting in his
lower back, so I knew then
that I shouldn't try to move him.
Since he is on long-term hospice,
our Home Health and Hospice nurse
has instructed that if he does fall,
we are to call her before we call an
ambulance, so that's what I did.
Karen said she would get dressed
and drive right over.
When she checked him, she said
his hips were in perfect alignment,
so they were okay.
He did still hurt in his lower back.
She had John and Julie help her
get him up from the floor and
get back into the bed.
She did some further checking.
His blood pressure was okay.
She had him take IBUProfen,
and he went back to sleep.
Marci came to shower him,
but determined that she would
give him a bed bath.
John had cooked a bunch of
waffles, so Walt got breakfast
in bed this morning.
Then Walt slept until it was time
for the BYU football game at 1:00.
As expected, BYU won handily...
BYU 42 Idaho State 10.
And in the last two minutes,
BYU was on the one yard line
and could have scored another
touchdown, but Coach Kalani Sitaki
chose to have his players take a knee
for each down and run the clock
out without running the score
up any higher.
BYU received an official invitation
to the Hawaii Bowl Game for
Christmas Eve because this
is their sixth win for the season.
----------------------------
Natalie came over this afternoon
and cut my hair, and then
cut Walt's hair.
Steve had helped Walt walk out
to the kitchen and get into
the chair. Thanks, Natalie,
for being so kind to come
and cut our hair.
Julie posted these photos on
face book of her girls competing
at the Fall BYU Ballroom Competitions
today...the last day of this event.
Ashley, who came from Rexburg
to compete in the Latin category,
and Jacee who competes in
both ballroom and Latin events.
These cousins have grown up
dancing at ballroom competitions...
Maddie and her partner Ethan
had a good time dancing today.
These sisters--Jacee and Maddie--
are also growing up together
in the world of
BYU Youth dancing.
We watched the 1976 movie Midway.
It's so easy to just stream in movies
on Amazon's Prime Video.
"Midway, is a 1976 American Technicolor war film [that] features an international cast of stars including Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda, James Coburn, Glenn Ford, Ed Nelson, Hal Holbrook, Toshiro Mifune, Robert Mitchum, Cliff Robertson, Robert Wagner, James Shigeta, Pat Morita, John Fujioka, Robert Ito and Christina Kokubo.
The music score by John Williams and the cinematography by Harry Stradling Jr. were both highly regarded. The soundtrack used Sensurround to augment the physical sensation of engine noise, explosions, crashes and gunfire. Despite mixed reviews, Midway became the tenth most popular movie at the box office in 1976."

Family is Everything…
Walt was able to go to Church today because John took him from the car in the wheelchair.
The primary program was about
 J E S U S   C H R I S T.
Rigdon did so well, "I can be like Jesus by loving my family,"
saying his memorized part and knew all the songs.
We are so proud of him.
Here we are coming out of Church today...
Walt is ready for dinner.
 Thanks, John, for another
delicious and nutricious
Roast Beef Sunday dinner.
Gary and Steve gave their Dad
a Priesthood blessing tonight.
Steve annointed, and
Gary sealed the annointing.
Thank you, sons, for blessing
your father with this
Priesthood authority and power.
Steve gave me a blessing, also.
How kind that was, and it
has helped me a lot.
 Then Gary fixed us
Banana Splits...
... so we had our own
"Sundae Sunday" with
bananas added!
 It's definitely an advantage
to live close to our children!

We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ
that makes this Great Plan operational.
At the end of this November 17th,
we pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
We share these truths as our testimony to you...
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.  He loves us just as we are at this very moment.
*** *** ***
Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.
*** *** ***
Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.
*** *** ***
President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.
*** *** ***
The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.
*** *** ***
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
*** *** ***
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.

Of these truths we testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
