It's December already?

Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Sonzacate Stake Conference...

Roberto Torres and Aida Palacios came to ride with us and show us the way. It was 1 1/2 hours over, but just under 1 hour coming back because of road construction and having to go two different ways.
We really appreciated it. (In the background is the white Honda van that the temple president drives.)

President Camparero was released today after serving 10 years. His counselor is on the left. The other counselor was called as a
counselor to President Julio Soto Morales who were being set apart, so I didn't get a photo of them.

The stake choir sang beautiful music.

Elder Kevin R. Duncan, First Quorum of the Seventy and Second Counselor in the Central America Area, presided. He shared a message about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and why people have to have trials and suffer.

Walt loves to greet the members. This young man asked to have a photo taken with the temple president.

I was surprised to see snow cone and ice cream vendors outside the gates of the stake center as we drove out.

When we returned to San Salvador, we invited our guides to come in to see the temple president's beautiful apartment.  They loved to see the temple from the second floor terrace.

They also enjoyed seeing our 10-minute DVD of our family that our daughter, Jen, put together for our 50th wedding anniversary in June 2011.  Jen, we have watched it many, many times and love it every time!

We invited them to join us and the temple missionaries for dinner, but Roberto was fasting until later in the day.  We did give them each a Hershey's chocolate bar to take with them for later.
We then joined our temple missionary couples for our weekly Sunday pot-luck dinner.  We had left a jello salad and whipped cream before we left that morning.
Clockwise from the top: Hna. Diane Wall, Elder Frank Wall, Elder Trent Kitley, Hna. Arlene Kitley, Hna. Marilyn Gibbons, Elder David Gibbons, Walt, Elder Lon Thompson, and Hna. Nancy Thompson.
They are each great cooks and we have delicious meals each Sunday.

We will be going over to the First Presidency Christmas Devotional
at 7:00 on our Central Standard Time (6:00 p.m. MST). It is always an inspiration to hear from President Monson, President Eyring, and President Uchtdorf.

We hope you will all have a wonderful December 2012 and the Spirit of Christmas in your homes and hearts.
