Some more of our week...from when I started "Our week in El Salvador..."
Thursday, Jan. 26 we had breakfast in the Cafeteria.  Wow, for $1.75 we got
juice, scrambled eggs ranchero, beans in rice, pan, y arroz con leche (rice pudding).
We had the afternoon/evening shift at the temple that day.

By the cafeteria is also a waiting area for family members while some do a session in the temple, while the other part of the family watch the younger family members.  We thought it was fun that a couple of young girls had made a "play house" out of blankets over the chairs.

Here's some Saladorans waiting to enter the temple.

Some more family members taking turns watching the little kids while other family members attend a temple session.
Bright and early Sunday morning, Walt and his two counselors drove to the Institute Building for a 6-hour Quarterly Regional Correlating Council Meeting.  This included the area of the El Salvador San Salvador Mission with its Mission President, David Glazier, and the 9 stake presidents.
I had a fun surprise at church on Jan 29.  As I went into Sunday School class, two Young Women leaders came to ask me if I would speak to their young women about the importance of temple marriage and being sealed.  So we had them all come over to the temple president's apartment.
After the first three leaders spoke to them--Teresa Walker; then my Assistants to the Matron: Consuelo Alas, and Aida Majano, I shared the 10-minute DVD that our youngest daughter, Jen Brewer, had put together for our 50-year wedding anniversary.
I said the most important decision you will make in your life is who you marry
and to marry for time and all eternity in the temple.
Here is Sister Majano speaking to them.
Here is Sister Alas speaking to them.
After I showed our family DVD about how families can be active in church and have a great time as a family, I closed by sharing my testimony of the Savior, His love for us, and the blessing of being a part of this true Gospel restored through the beloved Prophet Joseph Smith, my thankfulness for a Prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, and how grateful I am for the Atonement of the Savior, Jesus Christ, which makes all things possible--including repentance and the opportunity of being forgiven and going forward with our life.
It was a great 45-minutes together in our home here in San Salvador.

I didn't get photos of our pot luck Sunday dinner together on Jan. 29, but here's one from the Sunday before - Jan 22.  The 29th was our turn to do the main dish, and we served Shepherd's Pie.
I did get this photo of some of the Shepherd's Pie that was left.

Diane Wall brought this yummy hot peach cobbler for dessert.

Walt got back from his meetings about 4:00, and I had saved him dinner.
....Now it's 9:15pm on Monday night, Feb. 6, and we have early morning shift, so will be getting up at 4:00 a.m., so we're off to bed.
Have a great week wherever you are.
I was able to get Walt a small Valentine's gift when we took the missionaries grocery shopping this afternoon.  It was small enough to hide in my purse and then hide away in the apartment until I wrap it for Tuesday, February 14.
We've had some great FHE's...which I will share in the next blog.

what a wonderful resource to have the temple matron speak to the young women! I'm sure it was a terrific meeting that meant a lot to them
