On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020 at age 86.

Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen, their spouses, our 39 grandchildren, 9 spouses married to our grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 1 due in April and posterity to come.

So our posterity now numbers 66. Number 67 due in April.

Family is Everything…
Good Friday

“I think that of all the days since the beginning of this world’s history, [Good] Friday was the darkest. But the doom of that day did not endure…Each of us will have our own Fridays—those days when the universe itself seems shattered and the shards of our world lie littered about us in pieces. We all will experience those broken times when it seems we can never be put together again. We will all have our Fridays…But I testify to you in the name of the One who conquered death—Sunday will come. In the darkness of our sorrow, Sunday will come.” - Joseph B. Wirthlin

EACH DROP

In agony, He knelt to pray

There to atone, a price to pay

To take our place, that was His call

His pain, a sacrifice for all

Great drops of blood fell to the ground

Each drop a gift of love profound

Each drop was shed in someone’s name

As payment for their sin, their shame

He suffered there for me, for you

That was what He came here to do

Forever grateful we will be

For each drop shed in Gethsemane

EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE

We have many remarkable

One of them is the

Troy, Camie, Luke,

Jace, Sawyer, Maggie.

Troy told us that

Camie mentioned to him recently

that Easter just doesn't seem to get

as much attention as Christmas does.

She wanted their family to

go over by the lake Easter

morning at sunrise and talk

about Easter and what makes

it so important and special.

Troy thought that was a

great idea for the

whole ward to do.

So here we all are today.

MaryAnn was driving away
when she saw me trying
to get down the curb with
my walker, that had my
plate with the cinnamon
roll, and the small blanket
I had covered my knees with.
She stopped and came
to help me get down the curb
and helped me get in my car,
and put my walker in the back seat.
What a sweetheart!
I texted her when I
got home and told her that
"we lunch bunch gals
have each other's back."
Ellise Johnson also came to
help me just as MaryAnn
got there. Her Mom, Mara,
who is here from
northern Minnesota, took
our photo.
I am thankful for Ellise's help.
What a kind ward family we have.

Thank you,

arranging this

              Family is Everything…

 Happy Easter

Ever wonder why the Church uses Thorvaldsen’s “Christus” as a symbol? It has been an unofficial symbol of the Church for many years.                                         Bishop Caussé explained it this way.

“The statue of the Christus … testifies of our love for the Savior. The original marble statue is the work of the Danish artist Bertel Thorvaldsen, who sculpted it in 1820—the same year as the First Vision. The statue stands in stark contrast to most of the artistic renderings of that period, which largely portray the suffering Christ on the cross. Thorvaldsen’s work presents the LIVING CHRIST, who gained victory over death and, with open arms, invites all to come unto Him. Only the prints of the nails in His hands and feet and the wound in His side testify of the indescribable agony He endured to save all mankind.” (April, 2020).

Consider this before posting gory and                                          violent pictures of Christ.

Movie Night with Gary...

Wed, April 3
 was from 1998...

You've Got Mail is a 1998 romantic comedy featuring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in their third and final screen pairing (after Joe Versus the Volcano and Sleepless in Seattle). It was directed by Nora Ephron, who co-wrote the screenplay with her sister Delia. It's loosely based on Miklós Lászlo's theatrical play Parfumerie (which had previously been adapted into the 1940 film The Shop Around the Corner, the 1949 musical film In the Good Old Summertime, and the 1963 stage musical She Loves Me).

*I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of  Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.
At the end of this April 7th,

I pray you have had a

restful , peaceful, and spiritual

Sabbath Day...

I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.
He loves us just
as we are at this very moment.
He knows what our potential is.

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."

Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration.  He is the Restorer of all things.

President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.

The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.  Because of the restored Temple Ordinances families can be sealed for eternity.

Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
