Family is Everything…
Happy Memorial Day
Temple last June 1st for Luke
and Beccas wedding.
Gary drove to Idaho to put
flowers on 47 family graves
First he did six Albertson
family graves at the Albion
Cemetery...
Charles and Mary Ann Albertson,
my Great-grandparents.
Their daughter, Mary Jane, and
Mary Ann's brother, Joseph Hepworth.
Grama Eileen told the kids about
their Great-great Grampa Charles
Albertson who fought in the
Civil War at age 18.
In May 2019,
Josh, Adam, Anna helped
scrub the Albertson headstones.
Last year the Brewers were here
from Minnesota to help us put
flowers on these family graves.
My Grampa Albertson,
my Dad's father, Clarence Albertson...
...has never had a real headstone.
Gary rendezvoused with Fishers
at the Conner's Cafe in Burley
for breakfast, then they drove
an hour on to
the Wendell Cemetery.
Ashley helped put flowers
on her Great-Grampa
Ray and Great-Grama
Jane Petersen's graves.
Michael scrubbed his
Great-great Grampa Andrew
Petersen's headstone.
Last year we were at the Wendell
Cemetery with Gary, and the
Brewers...Jen, Jerry, Seth, Sarah,
Ben, Josh, Liz, Adam, and Anna.
A great serendipity was to have
two of Mitch and Karen Bunn's
kids their at the same time:
Becky Bunn Vipperman, with her
husband Justin, and their three
children--Audrey, David, and Evelyn,
along with Luke and Becca Bunn.
Luke and Becca were married
last June. She's part of the
Turner family from Burley.
David had driven us to the Twin FallsTemple last June 1st for Luke
and Beccas wedding.
Michael, Ashley, and Sam helped
put flowers on their Great-Grandparents
graves -- my Dad and Mom,
Arnold Albertson 1912-1982 and
Verna Huffaker Albertson 1920-2013
Here's 2001...19 years ago with
Aimee, Sam, and Daniel putting
flowers on their Great-great
Grandparents graves...
my Grampa 'n Grama Huffaker,
Simpson David Huffaker 1891-1982
and Ella Morris Huffaker 1891-1982.
They also put flowers on
Aunt Phyllis Petersen Bunn's
grave 1932-2014--Walt's sister,
and her husband, Dale Bunn,
who just died this year on
Walt's birthday April 17, 2020.
He was born on March 12, 1929.
On the back are the names of
their six children...
Don, Matthew, Mitch,
Cliff, Brenda, Beverly.
Don, Matthew, Mitch,
Cliff, Brenda, Beverly.
Then Gary drove the 15 miles on
west to the Hagerman Cemetery
to put flowers on our 8 Albertson
family graves...my Grandmother
Blanche Ilene Hartwell Albertson 1896-1966,
my Uncle Warren Albertson and his wife,
Vida Ricks Albertson, their son Wayne,
who died in his 50s of a brain tumor,
and their 2-year-old son, David, who
drowned in a ditch in Hagerman
when they were moving from one
home on the big ranch to another,
where Uncle Warren worked for
the big rancher there at the bend
as you're just coming in to Hagerman.
Also, my Uncle Jack Albertson is
buried there who was beat up so
badly when he was in the army that
he spent all the rest of his life at
the V.A. Hospital in Salt Lake City.
My Uncle Tom Albertson is buried
in the Owsley plots there by his
wife, Maxine Owsley Albertson.
Blanche Ilene whom I'm named after,
even tho my Mom changed the
spelling from Ilene to Eileen.

brother next oldest to him.
Gary also put flowers on Larry Smith's
grave who was killed when he tried to
land a plane in his Dad's pasture in
Bliss. He is Bonnie's oldest son when
she was married to Maurice "Mutt" Smith,
who Gary also put flowers on his grave.
(Gary didn't send us a photo of this grave.
I think I have a photo from past Memorial Days
which I'll have to look up.)
...
Janie and family stopped at
Shoshone Falls on the way back...
Their kids had never been there.
Their kids had never been there.
...then put flowers on Shawn's
mother's grave -- Lorene Robins Fisher,
and also his Grandparents--
Lloyd and Elna Robins in the
Burley Cemetery.
Flag in front yard flying
for this national holiday...
Family Picnic in back yard
with the Petersens,
Williams and Cheney families.
with the Petersens,
Williams and Cheney families.
John asked Jackson to bless
the food.
John makes delicious
bar-b-que ribs.
John kept the ribs coming...
Kids go first...
Shady places were popular...
There were also hot dogs to
go with the ribs...
Grampa enjoyed being outside...
...and so did Grama.
Lots of activities going on...
...competition with the frisbies
being thrown into the barrells.
Teams showed their skill
at getting their frisbie in
the barrel most often.
Camie and Jen were good...
The trampoline is always
a popular place...
Then Julie had the kids bring
out rocks to be painted.
Lots of different designs and
colors were created.
Frisbies kept flying thru the
air for quite a while...
Walt still doesn't like just
being a spectator...
Camie, Jen, and Julie did
get a few minutes of...
...talking together.
We like the new storage shed
that John put together
last week.
If you look closely in this
lilac bush, you can see
Grama A's deer.
The Memorial Day gathering
is about to end...
It's been a great afternoon.

grandparents,
Bert and Peggy Smith

Jackson, and Rigdon.
Gary also came to support
his nephew, Carter.
Carter posed by his table with
high school awards and mememtos.
Now, a year later "Elder Petersen"
served five months in the Brazil
Salvador South Mission, returned homein March with the thousands of
missionaries who were sent into
quarantine because of the Covid19

We are so thankful for The Plan of Salvation
and the Atonement of Jesus Christ
that makes all things possible.
Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence. He loves us just as we are at this very moment.

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration. He is the Restorer of all things.

President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.

The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today.

Of these truths we testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
