On this blog I share with family and friends my daily thoughts, doings, what interests me, and--at times--tributes to my eternal sweetheart, Walt, who graduated to heaven on 8-21-2020.

Dedicated to our seven children--Janie, Gary, Steve, David, Julie, Brian, Jen, their spouses, our 39 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and posterity to come.

I forget my cell phone today,

so didn't get any photos.

Lori Lynn taught the lesson on

Teaching in The Savior's Way

My fuel gauge dinged all the way

from the Chapel to Costco.

I didn't know if I'd get to their

gas pumps before my car died.

I made it.

It took 14.35 gallons at $4.459/gal

for a total of $64.00.

(Yes, this old 2005 Cadillac

takes Premium grade.)

Then I went to Wal-Mart where

I had to get Insulin.

I also got a Covid booster

and RSV immunization.

Picked up some grooming

supplies, got three Christmas

things and called my

"Christmas--shopping and

looking--good for this year."

1 week until Thanksgiving...

Relief Society "Friendsgiving Christmas Dinner"

Luminaries lighted our way...
A heart-felt thank you to our Relief Society presidency--Joanne Lyon, Jennifer Cheney, Heidi Wright, and secretary Sue Allen, along with the committee of Tammy Ballard, Shauna Keech, and Brooke Branchflower, whoever else helped make the Relief Society "Friendsgiving Christmas Dinner" happen on Thursday, November 16.
We enjoyed the delicious soups, salads, rolls, and cookies that were made and brought by you good cooks in our ward. There was an especially tasty red Jell-o salad that we thought Kathie Hatch had made. It turned out that Linda Bright had made it and sent with someone because of the death of her son's father-in-law, Linda wasn't able to come at the last minute.
Linda said it was an Aunt's recipe with Cherry Jell-o with crushed pineapple and pineapple juice substituted for some of the water, and lots of grated apples.
I had a recipe about the same, but called for Strawberry Jell-o. I put it in that old Tupper-ware ring mold. Then when I served it I added whipped cream with cut up bananas in the center of the ring mold. Seems like I grated a couple of good-sized apples for it. {The recipe I had called for a half cup of sugar to take away the tartness of the apples. but we didn't mind the tartness, so didn't add extra sugar.}
Thank you to Linda Hartley for sharing about her mother's precious Nativity Set that her mother made inn her later years from taking a ceramics class. She never stopped learning.

Relief Socie

Linda Bright's friend now has many "blessing bags" of essentials to share with the homeless in downtown Salt Lake City.
It was a lovely evening with friends in a beautiful fairy, white and gold, winter wonderland.
About 35 gals were able to attend.

Thank you to Kaye Wyler and others who stayed to help the committee clean up and put everything away. Even some guys came to help, along with Mark Ballard--Brett Sterrett, Troy Williams, and Sawyer Williams.

It's beginning to look a lot like Thanksgiving

...and and a lot like Christmas.

Covid today so didn't go to Church.

I have a mild case and am not

feeling very sick.

**** I am so thankful for The Plan of Salvation and the Atonement of Jesus Christ that makes this Great Plan operational.

At the end of this November 19th,
I pray you have had a
restful , peaceful, and spiritual
Sabbath Day...
I share these truths as my testimony to you...

Heavenly Father lives and knows us each by name. He loves us and wants us to return to Him and Heavenly Mother when we leave this mortal existence.
He loves us just
as we are at this very moment.
He knows what our potential is.

Jesus Christ came to earth as The Only Begotten of the Father and fulfilled the Atonement. He is the Redeemer of all.

I am thankful for the guidance of the Holy Ghost as the third member of the Godhead.
Walt said to me once: "I look forward to thanking the Holy Ghost in person when I get to Heaven. I don't think we give Him enough credit for all He does."

Joseph Smith was foreordained to be the Prophet of the Restoration. He is the Restorer of all things.

President Russell M. Nelson is the Living Prophet today for all the world.

The Bible is "the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly" and is a Testament of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It is the most correct book of any book on earth.
* * *
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True Church on the earth today. Because of the restored Temple Ordinances families can be sealed for eternity.

Of these truths I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ, amen.
