FEBUARY 21, 20

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2021                      Family is Everything...
Today Sunrise: 7:21 a.m. Sunset: 6:02 p.m.

So nice of the BYU students,
cousins Seth and Sarah, to show
Jacee around the dorms today.
I had had an appointment with
my podiatrist since Dec 14
for today at noon. I
got there 5 min early...
but no one was at the reception
desk. I took a selfie and texted
my kids to show them where
I was. Brian called to see how
I was. Still no one came to the
desk to check me in.
The receptionist for the
"Eye Center" then told me
that no one had come to the
Podiatrist side yet. I called their main
office in Am Fork which had a
message: "Our office is closed."
So I left.

"HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY --

on the front lawn for tomorrow.

Then Julie's close friends came
to decorate for a Surprise Party
for her.
Camie and Jen came first to
put up balloons...
 Julie was surprised when she
walked in from skiing!
They pelted her with balloons...
...and confettii.
Julie is in...
"I can't believe this mode!"
They had her go over by
her birthday cake.
Jacee took photos.
From left: Camie (half hidden by

Monica was sorry she couldn't come,
she had to be somewhere else.
Oh, we can see Camie now on the
left...then Jen, Melanie, Alissa, Julie,
Jen, Devon, Jessica, and Stephanie.
 Julie said to everyone:
"This is so nice of you all~
They had a fun time together.
I thought about the eight homes
that were figuring out how to
get along without these
wives and mothers for
an hour or two.
I asked these three gals to get one
last photo with Julie before they
went out the door.
L-R: Alissa, Jen, Julie, Camie.
Julie has great friends in our
Saratoga Springs 3rd Ward.
They don't get to be together
without kids and hubby's
very often.
Then it was time to go home...
Friends are also forever...

about her little sisters' birthday:

Someone asked me yesterday what the best day of my life was, and hands down it was 9 years ago today! Kayden Hope and Jordan Grace, you two are my built in best friends. You both are crazy, beautiful, hilarious, kind, spunky, and so much fun. You two are the best part of me, and I am so thankful I am your big sis. You make my life so much better and always keep us all on our toes. I love you to the moon!!!

Looking out at the snowy lake.

We asked Jennie to share her
experience last week of being...
... in the cast of "The Chosen" when
they filmed the
"Sermon on the Mount" Episode,
in Texas last week.
We were enthralled!
Such a spiritual experience.
She and her friend were blessed  for
staying the whole day in that
bitter cold Texas cold wave.
Dallas Jenkins, the producer, had
Jonathan Roumie, who portrays
Christ, stand by them during
the Sermon.
Tammy turned on Episode 3
of The Chosen
for the ones who could
stay and watch.
She said that Episodes 3  and 5...
...are her favorites.
Jonathan Roumie who portrays
Christ is very good at it.
Here's some info from Wikipedia: "The Chosen is a television drama based on the life of Jesus Christ, created, directed and co-written by American filmmaker Dallas Jenkins. It is the first multi-season series about the life of Christ, and season one was the highest crowd-funded TV series or film project of all time.
The series' creators stated that they had hoped to distinguish the new series from previous portrayals of Jesus by crafting a multi-season, episode-based story. The series portrays Jesus "through the eyes of those who met him".In addition to VidAngel, the series will be airing on BYUtv."

Family is Everything...
Today is six months since
Walt "graduated from this life"
as President Nelson calls it.
On Jan 21 I put  photos of
Walt up to age 34...1934-1964
continuing...
l am looking for photos from Walt's
year as an intern in Minneapolis
June 1963-June 1964...
here is the low-cost housing we
lived in as I was ready to push
Janie in her buggy to Margo's, whose
husband was also an intern.
I worked in a downtown high rise
for 2 specialists in
Internal Medicine. I took the
bus to and from work.
I only had to work from July to March
because the hospital became
"Hennepin County Hospital" in January
and they raised the interns salary
from $150 a month
to $250 a month. Walt made
about 17 cents an hour.
Somewhere I have a photo of Walt in his
"intern whites."
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
July 1964 to July 1966
Walt served in the U.S.Public
Health Service at an Indian Hospital
in Talihina, Oklahoma.

Today I got my A1C blood test taken.
It almost didn't happen because the gal
drawing the blood tried three times
and no blood would come out of my vein.
She finally had another gal come who
found a good vein in my left arm.
Susan Toner came to Utah to
visit her son Kevin and family.
She took me to lunch and we
talked and talked. She, Kenna, and
I used to go to lunch together every
May and December to celebrate our birthdays.
It was wonderful to re-connect with her.
She and Dave and their family have been
a great part of Burley, as were her Dad and
Mom--Blaine and Ruth Curtis. I was a visiting
teaching partner with Ruth. She was an
"Elect Lady" as is Susan.

Family is Everything...
This quote sounded good for today.
Daily Scripture: In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation. - Doctrine and Covenants 89:4
Daily Quote: The word of the Lord is enough to guide me in my life. I urge you, then, to listen carefully to these words of warning, not only to avoid the use of those things which are harmful to your bodies, but also to use those foods recommended by the Lord with prudence and thanksgiving. - Theodore M. Burton

It was our half of the ward's
turn to go to Church.
Riley Allen, a young woman,
spoke on "love at home."
She quoted from Elder Wirthlin.
I miss him being in the Quorum of the Apostles
Then James Hoffman, a high councilor, spoke
on "Love at Home."
He advised us to take notes...not on what
he said but what the Holy Ghost gave
us impressions to do about our
life from what he said.
I thought this was interesting:
"The Handbook 2 and
The Family Proclamation are a
current Doctrine and Covenants for us."
It's marvelous to go to Church
with Jacee, Maddie, Rigdon...
and Julie, John, and Jackson.
Jackson does a great job
of blessing the Sacrament.

In our online Relief Society, our
president, Chelsea Smith, led a

how we can help others
feel loved and needed.
Sister Samantha Warner said she was
sad to see that only 38  of the
150 Relief Sisters in our ward
were online for this meeting.
Several shared good experiences of
how other sisters had helped them.
Kim Beecher shared a poignent point about
our asking for help. Heavenly Father and
The Savior, who know our every need and desire,
have still instructed us to Ask Them.
