Second Day at the Fishers - March 9, 2012

Our day with the Fishers...
I just learned that you can click on the photos and they will enlarge when you're looking at the blog.
It was a great day watching our grandchildren perform. What a great job Janie and Shawn do teaching so many students how to dance.  They are keeping ballroom dancing alive and well in Eastern Idaho.
Friday, March 9, started with the family reading scriptures.
Aimee came to see us

This should be at the end of the day...we all went to D.Q. for treats after everyone's performances.

My format has changed for a new post.
This is a test to see how it comes out.

Sunday - APRIL 15, 2012

Here we are today on the second floor
patio terrace of the commons room.
+
...for the Sabbath has come again...♪ยบ
...that man and woman may rest...

Because He has risen...you and I will, too.
Hey kids, we thank you again for the ipod,
each day we learn a tiny bit more how to use it.
I have even found our Lesson #14 for Sunday School: "For a Wise Purpose" and have found the
scriptures for it: Enos, Jarom, The Words of Mormon.
Dad and I spent an hour and a half last evening going through it. Actually I printed a hard copy off lds.org for us to go over. If you haven't had  your stake conference yet this first half of the year, we are probably one lesson behind you.
Our new teacher speaks so rapidly, even the 5 North American returned Spanish-speaking say they are only catching about every 3rd or 4th word.  And the 4 temple missionary wives who are just learning Spanish say they are totally lost.
As for me, I'm usually lost anyway.  My most used phrase: "Mas despasio, por favor."
In S.S. and R.S. I usually read through my English print out again.
We're getting ready for  our 9-Noon block, so will finish this post later.
Everyone loves to shake the temple president's hand and talk with him on our way to and from our shifts.
Hope you all have a great week.
I've pinned some wonderful quotes to my Pinterest _______ whatever it's called.
To end this blog--I just read this from last Sunday's "Music and the Spoken Word"...
"The Lord’s promise “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” reaches into the eternities. New hope and new life can come to us all.

1. John 10:10."

P.S.
Just realized I didn't do "Day 2" with the Fishers....
Hope to do it in a day or two.
              We love our family....

Sunday evening - APRIL 8, 2012

Christ is Risen as He said!
Hope your Easter has been memorable.
We furnished the ham
for our pot-luck
Sunday dinner today.
The Kitleys brought
 peapods& carrots
sauted in brown sugar,
and bunny bread.
The Thompsons brought
Cheesy Potatoes.
The Gibbons brought
colorful deviled eggs.
And The Walls brought a
homemade frozen mango pie
and a chocolate dessert.
We also made little Easter candy
treat cups and had colored eggs*
in baskets for the center pieces.
Everything was delicious!
We think these colorful Easter deviled eggs should go on Pinterest.
But I don't know how to get it on there.
*Since there are only brown eggs here, After I boiled them, I set them all day in Clorox water to try to turn them "white" so I could color them.
It didn't work.
Then lo and behold--Thursday at Super Selectos there were 3 boxes of white eggs among the rows and rows of brown eggs. The eggs are not refrigerated here...just put on the shelves.
The brown eggs had
not colored well,
but the white ones did.
And because of Christ's Atonement
and Resurrection,
we all will be resurrected --
Christ's Great Gift to us all.
And if we do our part,
we can all--
families and friends--
be together forever!

We pray we will do our small part
in helping prepare for the
Second Coming of the Savior
in His Glory!

 Love, Los Petersen
